there’s a sort of deeply romantic aspect about picnics. a plush blanket beneath you, reaching only so far before the blades of grass peak over, tickling at your legs if you don’t scoot in closer. there’s a small array of foods and snacks splayed infront of the two of you, the basket you’d bought only 30 minutes ago overflowing with sweets that your lover had bought in a haste.
“we have to go fast! what if someone takes our spot!” satoru had cried out, loading your shopping cart in a frenzy of moves before rushing you to the self checkout. you kept up as best you could, his much longer legs making significantly larger slides than your smaller ones, almost jogging to stay next to him.
“it isn’t that serious” you laughed, slowing down to catch your breath before he turned to look at you, his mouth falling open.
“this is our romantic spark we are talking about! the spontaneous-ness of our relationship!” you rolled your eyes at his words, smiling as you agreed with him and walked with him to self checkout, loading the car up and heading to the park you were currently at.
“this is nice” you smiled, your head in satoru’s lap as he finished off the last chocolate covered strawberry, humming in agreement before wiping his hands and smiling down at you.
“didnt i pick such a great spot?” he’s grinning at your nod of approval, relishing in the way the sunlight bathed your body. your hair was messed up from the wind, but he thought it made you more charming.
you sat up, crossing your legs and letting out an ‘oomph’ sound when satoru practically threw his head in your lap, looking at you with bright eyes behind his sunglasses.
“play with my hair?” he asked, already fluttering his eyes closed before you answered, knowing you’d never refuse him.
“course angel boy” you replied, your hands finding their way to his snowy locks, easily carding through the soft strands. “you’re so pretty” you whisper, gojo’s ear peeking up at your compliment.
“you’ve been using my shampoo haven’t you?” you accuse, causing one of his eyes to open and look at you.
“conditioner too” he quipped, grinning as you smacked his chest, “ow!” he groaned, you only scoffed at him, hitting him again and causing a smile to form in his lips.
“as if that hurt at all you wimp!” you laughed. watching as he sat up, a pout replacing his smile.
“you wound me with your words, lover of mine” his face falling for dramatic effect, you can’t stop the laughter that shakes your whole body, throwing your arms around satoru as you continue laughing loudly.
gojo doesn’t struggle, easily falling on his back and laughing along with you, wheezes and squeaks soon being the only noises heard from the two of you.
then, a bolt of lightning, a loud crack and boom. the two of you staring at each other, then the food infront of you, and locking eyes again.
it’s too late when you both reach for the food, fat raindrops falling quickly and relentlessly on both of you and the food.
“the candy!” satoru cries, reaching for it and shoving it in the basket, closing it and trying to shield it from the pouring rain.
he glanced over at you, deciding in that moment he cared about nothing else but you.
you who was smiling and giggling as the rain soaked your clothes, your hair sticking to your face, droplets of water running down your neck when you turn to look at your lover, laughing when you see the small frown on his lips.
“your theatrics caused this” you accuse teasingly, laughing when gojo smiled back at you, throwing his head back in laughter.
he’s living up to his pet name in that moment, the white hair sticking to his forehead, strands soaking and dripping water, there’s a droplet on his nose bound to fall any second. his black tshirt is sticking to his skin, you can see the soft outline of his muscles when he flexes a bit, abs visible if you stare just a bit too much.
it’s not long before he’s taking his phone out, playing stupidly romantic music and yanking you up to stand.
“we have to dance in the rain!” he speaks excitedly, practically glowing as he leads you to the beat of the music, the two of you laughing at the comments the other makes.
there’s another loud clap of thunder that has you jumping, your head hitting Gojo’s nose.
“oh my god sorry!” you cry out, taking a hold of his chin and making him face you, making sure he wasn’t bleeding, breath hitching at how gorgeous he looked.
“staring at my pretty face?” he grins, eyes glinting when your hand moves from his chin to tangle into the hair at the nape of his neck.
“who said you had a pretty face to stare at?” there’s a lilt to your voice, you’re biting back a smile and he knows it.
“oh i dunno, just this very beautiful person i go on spontaneous picnics with” he smiles, his hands shaking around your waist and pulling you close, the rain still going strong as he crashes his lips onto yours.
your lips are moving in sync, his tongue swiping your bottom lip, when another clap of thunder causes you to jump, biting down on his bottom lip.
the two of you pull away, satoru laughing at the concern etched in your features, assuring you he’s fine, chasing your lips for more kisses.
the two of you end up in the car with drenched clothes, soggy candy and a dripping wet blanket, a satisfied sigh leaving either of your guys’ lips as the warm air hit your bodies.
“fun picnic” you laughed, watching as gojo reversed out of the parking spot, his hand places behind your headrest, his muscles practically straining against the wet t shirt.
“much more wet than i anticipated” he smiled, “but fun” a dazzling smile on his face as he drove home, the two of you hurrying in under the still pouring rain, rushing to change out of your wet shoes and drenched clothes.
“i heard it’s good to take a warm bath after getting caught in the rain” satoru speaks, “especially with your amazing awesome pretty boyfriend” a grin on his face as he takes his shirt off and throws it in the washing machine alongside your clothes.
“who said that?” you question, a brow raised as you slip on one of satoru’s t shirt and some clean shorts.
“experts say” he confirms, a much to believable look on his face that has you smiling.
“does this expert happen to be the ‘awesome amazing cute boyfriend’ in question?” you’re almost standing chest to chest now, he smiling down at you as he nods.
“pretty boyfriend” he corrects, “maybe we should check and make sure my idea is correct” mischief and excitement swirling in his bright eyes as you press a chaste kiss to his lips.
“in the name of science of course” you state, already walking to the restroom.
“of course” he beams, hot on your heels, his heart growing in size as you look back at him, bright smile on your face and a look of love on your face.
