GOT IT II

“GOT IT: II”
Genre: Secret Agent (AU), Enemies to Lovers, Travelling with KTH (who doesn’t want to?), Angst, Action, Fluff.
Synopsis: After the previous event, you lost your credibility and reputation from your job as an agent. Desperate to regain back your honor and prominence from the underground business, you accepted a difficult job to transport an article to 3 different countries. The catch? You’re not supposed to know what it is.
Word count: 8,787k
“Mister Müller” you approach the man sitting from the al fresco café.
“Miss Y/L/N, please sit.” He folded the newspaper before him. He called the waiter and ordered for a coffee refill “…and one sweet latte for the lady” he smiled at you.
“What makes you think I like my coffee sweet?” you raised an eyebrow as you slowly take off your sunglasses and lay it down the table. You looked at the name tag of the person taking Mr. Müller’s order. “Fred, One Americano for this lady. Make it two shots of espresso. Thanks”
Mr.Müller sips from his cup and staring at you for a good few seconds “Even until now, you won’t back down from a non-existent competition?”
“With you?” you chuckled “Please, there’s nothing to compete” your coffee finally arrived, you said your thanks to Fred, and slowly sipped from the cup.
“I meant with Kim Taehyung” he continued. You stiffened. It’s been a year since that mishap happened. You once venerated his ingenuity, yet now, you resented his existence. It’s not that you wanted something terrible happen to him, it’s just that you didn’t like to see him ever again. Not even a mention of his name.
Mr.Müller laugh from his seat while watching you evidently disturbed. “I’m sorry for stirring a nerve.” You shift from your seat and crossed your legs. “I know that ever since that event, your clients declined. From what was once a celebrated agent, you have been reduced as a what again?” he laughed midway “a private investigator for rich wives with a cheating husband?”
“Why don’t we cut to the chase, hm?” you put your cup down and fold your arms.
“Mr.Singh, I’m sure you’ve heard of him.” Your eyes widened at the sound of his name. Of course, you do. He is one of the most influential businessmen around the globe, and to work with him in the underground business seems to be like Midas touch. Every business seems to flourish afterwards.
“Yeah, what about?” you kept your cool, but you were eager to accept the job, whatever it is, if Mr. Singh is involved. You’re already desperate to stop renting dirt cheap basement apartments and eating convenient store chips as snacks. You would rather bask on a caviar filled canapes again, sitting in a balcony with the most coveted view of the city.
“Mr. Singh wants you to transport something from here, in Amsterdam down to Costa Brava, Spain.” There was a moment of silence. Transporting a thing from one destination to another is already difficult, but to transport it from three places? What was it that he wants across?
“What’s in it for me?” you gaze at your cup aimlessly and took another sip. You took your sweet time to wait for his answer but he didn’t utter a word. You then wiped your lips with the table napkin, now stained with your lipstick “And why me?” you finally looked at him, unsmiling. You learned the hard way not to trust anyone too easily anymore, thanks to him.
“Besides, recovering from your credibility and reputation? well the money… “ he smirked “the money is quite handsome. We picked you because we know how delicate you are in handling a very sensitive article. You could say we love your work ethic and the fact that you even put a ribbon on top of it for your every client” you chuckled at his fanciful overstatement.
“Please, you underestimate my attraction to money. Of course, I take pride on what I do. Normally I like the chase than being chased, but who doesn’t love a challenge, right?” You paused for a bit “But I’d be damned if I wouldn’t know what kind of thing I’ll be transporting?” you opened your purse, grab on to your lipstick and pocket mirror for a retouch.
“Not knowing now is part of the pay. I’m pretty sure we’ll be having a great difficulty with the deal right now if you were to know.” He took something from his briefcase which was resting underneath the table.
“These are the files you need to study. We also included a map. We pointed out several spots if you needed some places to stop. It’s a long journey and it will definitely suck the life out of you if you aren’t too careful. We need it whole, and we needed it working and thriving. Don’t fuck it up.” He finally stood up from his sit and left you on the table.
You furrowed your eyebrow at the thought of hearing him say “we needed it working and thriving” what did he meant by that?

Part of your study involved knowing who to elude, but you took it further. You try to find out more: more individuals who might be involved and more individuals who might not want to be involved. You needed to ascertain your accomplishment and avoid the same mistake you made year ago at all cost. You calculated possible scenarios and sketch out several plans to ensure your success in every way. You needed to show Mr. Singh you are worthy and that you are more than capable.
On the night before your meeting with Mr. Müller’s men, you made sure that you reviewed the place of the empty warehouse well. You memorized all the corners of the street, equipped yourself with light but deadly artilleries (such as guns, knives and even daggers) all hidden underneath your dress, just in case you needed a quick escape.
You parked your car at the front building, and flashed your head lights thrice. They did the same, signaling that the coast is clear and the article is ready for your delivery. You slowly went out of your car and surveyed the site from your position.
You counted in your head: 1, 2, 3. There are 3 snipers waiting above the building. 1, 2… 2 armed men on the front of the warehouse.
Walking further, the 2-armed men finally opened the overhead door for you. You return to count: 3, 4, 5, 6… 6 more armed men and a sedan car inside the warehouse. You carefully approached them and kept a level-head, yet you tucked both of your hands inside of your coat pockets which contained your hidden pistol and a knife.
Thankfully you didn’t need to use any of it as they welcome you despite being hostile. They opened the car door of the sedan for you and tossed you its key. “What am I going to do with my car? Leave it here? And drive with this instead?” you tried to make light of the situation but no one was laughing.
You cleared your throat to fuse out the awkward silence, and sat on the driver’s seat. You examined the car: its type and its features. You took a mental note on the things to use during an emergency and the things to use for indulgence. “What’s inside?” you tilt your head to point out the compartment. You wanted to know the contents and the danger of having to drive with it on the back.
“Oh, just…” they opened the compartment and you suddenly hear someone muffle scream. You quickly went out from your seat to check.
There’s a bloodied man inside the compartment, his hands and feet tied together with a sack on his head, frantically wriggling. “Jesus! What the…?!” You opened the sack to see who it was.
He stopped wriggling, then his eyes widened.
“Taehyung?” You froze. Just what trouble did he gotten into?

You manage to convince them to move him from the compartment up to the passenger seat. As he sat down, Taehyung quickly recoiled from so much pain. His right shoulder was clearly injured from a gunshot. Your initial reaction was to take him to the nearest hospital, but the men insist that you take him somewhere else. “It’s dangerous to take him to public places, Mr. Singh needed him alive.”
“How do you keep someone alive from a gunshot?” pointing at Taehyung “What the hell did you do to him?”
Suddenly your phone rang. It was Mr. Müller “Is this the reason why you won’t tell me what I’ll be taking to Costa Brava? It’s Kim Taehyung?” you demanded explanation from the person at the end of the line.
“Hello Ms. Y/N” he just said. You scoffed “Does this seem like a joke Müller?”
“First of all, yes. If you found out what you’ll be carrying early on, would you even agree? Second, no. If it wasn’t for me, Mr. Kim Taehyung would be dead by now. We were lucky enough to find him here, albeit the situation. One of Mr. Ong’s men followed him here and Bang!”
You went to his seat and check the degree of his injury. You were relieved that it was not fatal nor was it bad enough to make him permanently infirm. You concluded from the look of his wound that it was done by small pistol, barely lethal but enough to slow him down. Although if this is left untreated, he might just die from infection instead.
Mr. Singh continued “Ever since that incident, many businessmen were furious with the trouble you two created, they wanted him dead. Only a few though needed him to remain alive, Mr. Singh included. Considering that he is carrying something rather fascinating” you looked at his watch.
“Hey!” you called Taehyung. “Do you have something this loser want?” Taehyung chuckled even in pain, and nodded.
“Another information Müller?” you asked. “Yes” he agreed.
You laugh at the ludicrous situation “Then why include Taehyung in the deal?”
“Safety” he replied. Bullshit. It was clear as day. They wanted Taehyung silenced, but alive. Just how much does this man know that riled up the whole world from the underground? Eager to find him dead or alive?
“And move 3 countries?” you secured your phone from your shoulder as you went to your car and moved your things to the other.
“Mr. Singh wants to take Mr. Kim on a Spanish cruise, have a little chit-chat there”
“Mm, right” you snickered, not buying it. You took the map from your purse. “Where’s the nearest doctor you know? You said you wanted him alive.”

You haven’t had your dinner, but you were too preoccupied to remember your own needs. Müller directed you to this private clinic downtown. So now you watch Taehyung from the bed, fresh out of surgery.
“W-water…” he asked weakly, clearly drugged from anesthesia. You slowly helped him up and let him sip from your water bottle.
“He’s one lucky man” said the doctor. He was old but not fragile. His hair already white and balding due to age. He sounded, presumably as you deduced, an Asian immigrant. “Bones are still intact, not one bit shattered. Someone must be a poor aimer” he laughs at his own remarked.
“But his muscles were burned by the gun blast. I managed to stitch it good. Just give him these medicines when the effect of anesthesia subsides, but only when the pain is unbearable. Don’t feed him food with too much sugar and salt, bad for muscle recovery. Never ever put any pressure on his wound, very delicate. Give it about 10 days or more.” He gave you a prescription paper and box filled with different pills. Cocktails of pills from oxycodone, anti-inflammatory, pain relievers, NSAIDs and etc.
“Can’t we stay here a little longer?” you pleaded.
“I’m sorry, but I can only let you two stay here before dawn.” You clearly understood the situation, and the position that you two just put him in. You didn’t bother to contest any more. “Thank you” that was all you could ever reply.

From time to time, you made a quick run from convenience stores, clothing stores and stopped by gasoline stations to wash and dress Taehyung who is clearly weak to even move.
“Y/N, what are you doing?” he struggled from his seat while you pulled his shirt up.
“Changing your dressing. C’mon arms up!”
“Ah!” He tried to move his injured arm up
“The last time you are up, this close, you sat on my lap and unbuttoned my shirt. Do you find joy in undressing me?” His eyes followed you. You finally took off his shirt and observed his injury “Like what you see?” he asked as you rolled your eyes at the sight of his boxy grin. It used to be cute but that doesn’t work on you any longer.
Yet you paused and realized that there were a few changes on his appearance. His hair is now permed and overgrown, his chest and arms increased in muscle size, and his skin now a little tanned.
“Sorry to break it to you buddy, but no dancing will occur today. Besides, I’m not one-bit aroused dressing up a frail man.” You raised your eyebrow as you steadily clean his injury with sterile water, dry towel and fresh bandages. “Is the anesthesia still working on you?” you taped the bandage gently, making sure that there was no any untoward pressure.
He breathed heavy from the pain. “I think I am starting to feel…” You took your purse to look for the pills. He watched you hastily burrow from it, unsure what to give.
“Y/N” suddenly the warmth of his palms rested on the back of your hand. “I can manage.”
You quickly swathed it away and out from your touch. “Tell me when you need it. I’ve got good 15 of them. We need to ration these until we get to Costa Brava” you sat back from the driver’s seat and turned back the engine on. You left the station infuriated, while you saw Taehyung smiling from his seat on your rear-view mirror.

You arrived in Belgium, a few hours later, and stopped by Bruges City. You parked the car on the side of the street, and winced in pain. You were feeling it since yesterday and felt fine the next, but the pain suddenly made a comeback. You definitely do not welcome it; you need to focus on the task at hand.
Stirred from his sleep, he sat back up, worried to see you grimace and your face turning pale. “Y/N, you are not alright.” He moved from his seat to check your temperature. “You’re burning up!” he picked up your purse from the backseat and look for the pills inside.
You shake your head. “Stop, that’s for you.” You flinched and clutched on to your midsection. Was it because you failed to eat dinner? But that’s nothing compared to the hunger you felt when you were just starting this job. You were trained to endure. Yet this somehow felt different and worst.
“Y/N, we won’t arrive to Costa Brava if you don’t take one.” He was right. He quickly spots the proper pill to give. “Here, take this and my bottle. Drink slowly”. Suddenly you felt it. Down below.
He wiped your sweat with a tissue “There’s a restaurant open. We need to eat our breakfast.” pointing from your window. “It’s fine, just um…” You swallowed “You go. Let me stay here inside for a bit” you protest. Not moving from your sit.
He suddenly laughed. “What? Are you letting me off easily? I could always take a cab from here and leave you again for good.”
“Look, just buy me a sandwich and don’t leave!” you stressed. He sighed and left the car.
Unexpectedly, you felt your car door opened. Taehyung pulled you up from your seat with his free- hand. “Taehyung!” You exclaimed. It was then revealed. A blob of red mark from your seat. You didn’t expect your period to come.
Although, your cycle was irregular, you did not give much attention to it since it was the least of your priorities. You have not dated anyone for so long, nor have you been sexually active. You were exceedingly engaged in work.
You look away too embarrassed to say anything. You quickly sat back from your seat.
“Just lea…” you were interrupted, when he said “I’ll go get your sandwich. Wait here.” He ran
“Taehyung…” you called. He stopped to look back at you. “Don’t worry I’ll come back”

He did come back. He came back with an egg sandwich and their famous Belgian hot chocolate. One for you and for him. Just the right meal for a hormonal woman like you.
You wouldn’t admit it, but you were grateful for him. “Oh, and sorry if I am clueless but…” he pulled out stuff from the paper bag from his seat and showed you several types of napkins: day pads, night pads, napkins with wings, napkins without wings and tampons in different sizes.
You couldn’t help but laugh. “Here I am, paid to look out for you, but now…” you sighed.
“You are welcome” he cut you in and smiled. He knew you didn’t want to tell him and you didn’t have to. He wouldn’t want to make it hard for you to say it. But he said it too perfectly.
You look away and tried to hide your blush from the steam of your cup, hoping he won’t notice.
Click! You quickly turned to face him “What was that?” you asked him.
“What was what?” he turned to look at you.
“I heard a clicking noise…” you looked around and he did the same.
“Hm, I didn’t hear anything.” His eyebrow creased.
You look at the window and on the side mirrors of the car. No one. But you can’t be too complacent so you left immediately to stay somewhere else.
You parked at a nearby bridge, overlooking the canal and houses built beside it. Houses with manicured garden, flowers in different colors a top on each window, and ever-greens creeping above its walls.
You cleaned yourself at a restaurant’s comfort room, while Taehyung insisted to wait outside. You were surprised when you saw him in the car, wiping your seat clean when you were away.
“Hey! Stop! That’s… please don’t add more shame to my list” you ran towards him.
“It’s fine. This is normal right? I mean women have this each month. Nothing new, it’s probably similar to men. You know when testosterone is just overwhelming and they leave their--”
“Shut it!” You didn’t want to hear it. He chuckled.
Both of you finished your meal in silence, while staring at the reflection of the sun glimmering on the canal. You looked at Taehyung and found his mouth full, with bread crumbs all over his mouth. You found it adorable. “Would have tasted better if this is coffee” you said sipping from your cup. He frowned. “Sorry if I didn’t keep my promise”
You looked far, watching the boat passed by from the canal. “You didn’t promise me anything. You don’t have to. People come and go” you downed on what was last left inside of the cup. He wiped his mouth with a tissue, but he just fell silent.
You went back inside the car turned on the engine, he followed momentarily.

Several hours later, you finally arrived in France, now driving around the highway of Provence. The road was already dark. Despite drinking few bottles of Red Bull, you still found your eyes slowly dropping.
“Y/N!” Taehyung yelled. “Sh— what?” you held back from the stirring wheel. “Stop the car!” he commanded. “In the middle of the road, during the night, you want me to stop the car right here?” you sneered at him.
“I know our job is pretty dangerous, but I still want to live another day. Let me drive.” He ordered “Are you crazy? With one hand? You think I’d live to see another day with you driving right now?” you scoffed. “I’m driving!” you declared.
“Look, you are tired and clearly at your limit. Why don’t we parked the car somewhere and take a rest?” he suggested.
“Here, in the middle of nowhere? Look around Taehyung, have you seen any lodging? Any house around? Fields! Fields everywhere! It’s too risky to sleep out in the open!” you raised.
“Better than seeing you fall asleep while driving. Can you just please swallow your pride for one moment and just rest?!” he finally snapped. You took a deep breathe. He was right. You needed it.
You drove a bit far from the highway. Right on to someone’s field. You parked the car beside a lone willow tree.
Taehyung quickly opened his car seat and walked out. Was he mad? You pulled out and followed him. “Hey wait, where are you going?”
“Look around you Y/N. Does it look like I am going anywhere?” he said leaving you far behind.
You looked around you but it was too dark to see. It was uncalled for, but the thought made you laugh.
“What are you laughing at?” his voice became stern.
“I looked around but I couldn’t see a thing, Taehyung.” You bit your lip, trying not to add more fuel to the fire.
He looked up, and conceded. You were right indeed. Everything was too dark to see. Both of you burst into laughter.
It smelled faintly floral yet soothing. Taehyung lied down under the tree. You followed. Thankfully, you packed enough clothes for this trip. You were able to change in to sweaters and a tight-fitting jean, so you sat comfortably beside him under the willow tree.
“Sorry about earlier. You are right” you brushed your hands together, creating heat from friction. You looked at Taehyung, unbothered at the dim and coldness of the area. He shut his eyes. “Are you giving me the cold treatment? I said I’m so—” “I know. I heard.”
“I just….” He made a long sigh. “Do you even get tired? How often can we just lie down under a tree and not worry about tomorrow?”
You chuckled “What? You’re eloquent when I’m tired.” You slowly lied down too.
Suddenly you found yourself in awe, staring at the sky. Stars glimmering right before you. You lift up your hand and reached up for them aimlessly.
“Y/N” he murmured.
“Yeah?” You turned to him.
You noticed that his eyes were gazing back at you. “If you weren’t working like this, would we even get to meet each other?”
You shrugged. “What’s with that question?” you were left flustered. You looked away, trying to hide your reaction. What is he trying to do? Is he trying to get in to your head again?
“Just a random one.” He turned away at the same time and looked at the stars. “Aren’t we all lost at some point? I mean look at us. Caught around trouble”
“Aren’t we looking for one? It’s part of the job that we signed for…” you replied. You took a quick glance back and bit your tongue. You realized how serious he was, so you decided to finally respond properly to his query “I don’t know. Maybe. It’s not like you’d be glad to meet me… Either way, I always cause trouble.”
“Would be a nice introduction though? I’ll gladly be your friend and a willing partner” he chuckled. “Have you ever wondered why…”
“Oh, are we starting this ‘Ever Wonder’ game?” you chuckled
“Wait, listen to me, this is of great importance, because I can’t help but wonder why” he put his abled-hand on the back of his head and rest on it.
“Ever wonder why the sky is blue?” you interject.
He clicked his tongue and looked displeased because you cut him in “Ever wonder what it feels like to make out with the air?” he continued.
You burst in to laughter. “I never gave it a thought, but ---” you broke again to laughter. “Yeah, thanks for giving me something to think about…”
“Ever wonder why we poop out of our butts and not from our feet?” he resumed. You found yourself almost gasping for air from laughing.
“That’s terrible to look at!” you exclaimed. “Can you just imagine stepping literally on our own crap? Not needing to take off our underwear any longer, seems convenient to me” he shrugged and smiled, quite proud at his own contemplation.
“But then people suffering from athlete’s foot will have it harder…” you quipped.
“The smell!” you said together, and both of you laugh at the notion. “Oh, what a horrible life for that person to be living!” he gagged.
You slowly break from your laughter “Maybe not as horrible as this…”
He too fell silent. “What made you take this job?”
You shrugged “Money.”
“Obvious reason. What’s the other?” he furrowed his eyebrow and looked at you intently, as if trying to extract answers just by gazing. You stared back, not backing down. “Ugh! I give up!” he moved his back and lied comfortably to the ground as he stared back to the sky.
“…at least that’s what I would like everyone to know.” You gave in. “I grew up to be always second best. I followed everything my dad wants, and still, I’m no better. Tried everything… from playing the piano, leader camps, science club, and taking a law degree that I didn’t even like…and yet I still fail to be his ideal daughter” your croaked, not wanting to let him show any sign of weakness.
“So, I quit. Found this job one day and realized I made better money than any damn lawyers or politicians around… at least before I met you” you snorted.
“I didn’t know you went to law school?” he blinked.
“Why? You doubt my intelligence?”
“Pretty much, didn’t I just outsmart you then?” he turned to face you and winked.
You grind your teeth. “If your friend Park Jimin wasn’t that attractive, I wouldn’t have paid much attention to him. Should have known earlier he’s just one of your diversion” you scowled sourly.
He laughs. “Oh yeah? Handsome Jimin’s fault huh? Were you lucky enough to see his abs?”
“Just a preview” you flicked your hand to air. “If you weren’t an agent, what would you be by now?”
He smiled. “If I tell you, you promise you won’t laugh?”
You forced out a laugh then you agreed. “Alright, game. What is it?”
He smiled…

An hour later, you two found yourselves talking about your cousins and his. Comparing who did naughtier things than the other.
“I can’t believe you bribed your little cousin with candy? And you have him take the blame for breaking your aunt’s precious jar” You gasped. He nodded. Pleased to know that he emerged as the naughtiest.
“I suddenly remember my sister and my cousin, they used to listen to this track on repeat when we were younger.” You chuckled midway. “Since the player was broken, they made me pivot the cassette tape using pencil several times! I couldn’t complain how tired they’re making me… they were older. What was it again?” you looked up, trying to figure the name of the track again. “It was ‘Kiss Me’ by Sixpence None the Richer” you nodded. “Yeah, that’s it” you giggled.
“That’s awful of them, using their ‘Elder Card’ to boss around a poor little girl.” He pouts.
“Oh, it’s fine. I actually love the song too. I didn’t know what it was back then. What kiss meant…” you lowered your head, a bit shy to continue.
“Unbelievable! After what you did to me last year?” he retorted.
“We never…Look, that was last year okay? Move on!” you chuckled. “Anyway, I’ve always fancied sharing a kiss with someone. You know, like in the movies. The things they do back in the late 90’s? When the girl jumps and the guy catches her. Then, he’d extend her up like this” you motioned “as they both lean on for a kiss” you shut your eyes and puckered your lips mindless. You giggled at the idea.
“I don’t know about that. It’s pretty tedious and elaborate.” He frets. “Silly, I’m not asking you! It’s just… when it happens, it happens. Oh, and that song must be playing on the background too!” You chuckled then slowly rubbed your neck and smiled, slightly embarrassed at your own declaration.
He grinned. “I’ll take a mental note of that…”
You swiftly turned to him, stunned. “Hm, you going to copy my idea? Do it for someone? Psh, must be one lucky girl”
“Who knows, it might just be you…” He yawned and finally shuts his eye. You chuckled, as you did the same.

At Sunrise, Taehyung was the first one to wake up. He found your head resting on his chest and thankfully far away from his injury. He smiled, at the sight. Earlier on the trip, you two were constantly bickering, fighting over trivial things, teasing each other without anyone giving in. Who would’ve thought that taking a nap under the willow tree would change everything in a flash?
He stayed still for a bit, just watching you sleep. Until he checked out that time from his phone and tried to wake you up from your slumber. “Y/N…”
“Nnhh…”
“Y/N…wake up… we need to get going…”
“Wha--?” you slowly opened your eyes. He chuckled, realizing the coldness he felt from his shirt happens to be your own drool.
“Y/N, we need to get going. We have a schedule to follow, remember? We’re almost there.” He said softly as he smiled at you.
“Sh--, ah! You’re right!” you quickly stood up. He followed.
“Wow! Are you seeing this?” he turned around. “That explains why we’ve been smelling something floral all night. We are in a lavender field!”
You looked around, as your eyes slowly widened. He was right. In front of you was a valley full of lavender, all swaying gently with the cool morning breeze. You smiled, you turned to face Taehyung, but he wasn’t there.
“Taehyung?” you suddenly heard the engine start.
“Hop in loser, we’re going Costa Brava” he stuck his head out from the driver’s window.
“Get out! I’m driving!” you demanded. He grinned and shook his head and mouthed the word ‘No’.
“Taehyung, this is not child’s play. I’m driving alright? You’re hurt!” you gestured him to move out from the driver’s seat. He didn’t listen, in fact he just stepped on the gas, all ready to leave you unless you agree.
You could see his laughter from the car’s side mirror. “Hey! You! Ah, really! Stop! Ah!” you ran to follow the car.
He finally slowed down, and opened the passenger’s seat for you. “Fine. But when we arrive Montpellier, I’m driving!” you ceded.
“Make me.” he snickered, teasingly. You sneered in return. It was great to see you two back at it again.

You were proven wrong. Taehyung could still drive, even when he steered the wheel with one hand, his driving was actually smooth. You then learn that Taehyung is ambidextrous.
“My dominant hand is actually my left, so if that guy who shot me hit me here?” He paused “Then I wouldn’t have the courage to drive for you right now” he explained.
“Mm, interesting. Now can you please give me back the wheel?” you said pursing your lips. He just beamed.
He reached out his right hand to turned on the radio. “Oh! I love this song!”
“Taehyung! Your right arm, don’t move it!” You reminded him.
“Okay, can you please raise the volume for me then?” he grinned at the rear-view mirror. You rolled your eyes and raised the volume for him.
♬ “We live, and we lie, and we fall, and we fly, We win, and we lose, So for now, let's all enjoy this view” ♬ he sang. Moving his head to the beat.
“Hey Y/N, can I borrow your baseball cap? My hair is kind of sticking out. Hard to see” you rolled your eyes, as you reached out for your black cap laid on the backseat and placed it on his head.
“Ah, move the visor from my back” he complained
“I had it! God, you are so annoying!” you shot at him and yet you still did it for him.
“Can I… also please, borrow your sunglasses? It’s hurting my eyes” he asked you gently this time while he narrowed his eyes. You grunt. He was clearly testing your patience.
Both your windows were open, you snuck your head out a little, letting the air brushed your hair. You tuck your hair behind your ears and squint your eyes when you felt the rays of the sun fell on your lids. Slowly, you closed it.
Immersed at the present. You let the breeze and the warmth of the morning sun permeate from your skin. You smiled at the faint scent of morning dew and…
You opened your eyes to find your forehead suddenly wet. You blot it with your fingertips.
“Bird poop!” Taehyung laughed. You frowned.
You were supposed to feel disgusted, but with Taehyung around? Everything didn’t seem to matter. He laughed. You did too.
♬ “Life can be so amazing, If we stop all the chasing, Good times are always waiting, So take a look around, And you'll never see them wasted”♬ the song continued.

You fell asleep on the way to Montpellier. You got to hand it to Taehyung, not only was he skilled for driving one hand, but he was so smooth that you were shocked to find out he sped up while you sleep after he realized you two were being followed. Nevertheless, he manages to lose them.
You started the argument by saying how careless he was, by telling him your “what ifs” scenarios.
“That can get both of us killed!” you yelled. He wouldn’t admit his fault, so you start babbling again. You two continued to quarrel until both of you were too tired.
It drained the two of you so much, that it left you both immediately famished. So, upon arriving, you two grab the first food you saw in the city.
You rolled your eyes in ecstasy. “Normally, I don’t eat baguette because it tastes like soft clay. But this, this has got to be the best tasting baguette my entire life!” you cried.
“I never knew you like eating soft clay?” He chuckled. You grinned, as the two of you lay the argument to rest, eternally forgotten.
Taehyung insist to look around the town for a bit. “Besides we are early on the schedule. We got a little time…” he pleaded. You waved your hand to show you’ve agreed.
He was lost in awe. Around the French architecture, old houses that dated back to the 1800s, more French bread and a creamy gelato. He pleaded to make one last stop.
“St. Pierre Cathedral? But it’s too…” you almost protest, yet he gave you a persuasive look you can’t resist. “Fine, let’s make it quick!” both of you finished the gelato and went inside.
You were about to say it’s a bad decision to agree, but you found yourself adrift in wonder. The cathedral was full of gothic paintings, walls intricately designed, the high-ceiling filled with colored glass windows, and golden chandelier dangling from above.
You turned to Taehyung, only to lose him again from your sight. “Taehyung?” you shifted. There were few tourists around and parishioners praying on the pew. “Taehyung?” you look around, trying to find him.
You surveyed the pew, and the crowd full of tourists around the Lépine Organ, even outside the entrance door. No Kim Taehyung. You were starting to get anxious. You shook your head. Did he leave you again? Outsmarted you? How stupid can you be for letting him loose?
You went back inside, trying to collect yourself and think hard. Where can Taehyung be? He couldn’t leave that far. You have the car keys. Then there…
His back at the front of the altar.
He slowly turned around, and found you too amidst the crowd, smiling.
Thud. Thud.
You realized your heart was starting to beat fast. Mindlessly, you walked along the aisle. Towards the man who was waiting you there.
Thud. Thud. “Taehyung. Kim Taehyung!” hastily you reached for him. He held your hand “Hey, I’m okay. Why are you crying?” he asked you worriedly. You were? Then it dawned on you that your cheeks are damp. You were crying.
“Don’t do that again! I thought that you tricked me! I thought you left! I thought you ran away and …” you hit his chest, avoiding though his injury. He chuckled. “Y/N… I’m right here. I won’t leave. I was waiting for you… I was waiting for you here.” He said softly.
“God! Ugh!” you wiped your own tears. How did he made you cry? You looked away and murmured “I hate you, Kim Taehyung”
He heard. You start to wonder if you ever mean it, because it was starting to feel contradictory, but you should. You should mean it.

Just a few hours, after dusk, you finally arrived to your destination. Tossa De Mar, a town in Costa Brava.
You two arrived a day early from schedule, so you decided to spend time on the beach by tomorrow and celebrate the final day of your mission.
You booked two rooms in two different hotels. One as your resting place and one as a decoy. You wanted to make sure both of your safety while you two rest during the night. You left Taehyung in the shower, while you sat on the balcony enjoying the coastal air.
“I’m done! Your turn!” he announced, wearing a robe while brushing his hair with a towel. You narrowed your eyes and just stared at him. You tilt your head to point him out of the room.
“Oof! That’s harsh! You think I…” he opened his mouth in disbelief. “Sure, but if you lose me again. Not my fault okay?” you pulled out a handcuff from your bag.
He raised his eyebrow “Kinky” he snickered. “Fine, you won’t be needing that. I’ll just stay out in the balcony until you’re done. Besides I don’t like taking advantage around vulnerable women.” He said sternly. “I’ll even protect you if you needed it” he continued.
You clicked your tongue. “I won’t be needing it. I can handle myself, thank you very much” you winked
The next morning, you surprised Taehyung with a new arm brace. To spite him you picked up a pink neon colored one. “It’s my parting gift” you said.
“Sweet?” he smiled faintly. “I know right?” you helped him put it around his arms.
Taehyung accompanied you around town. He stopped over a camera shop, while he left you to the souvenir shop on the opposite side. You two met after a few minutes in the middle of the street and smiled. Each of you were holding on to your new purchase with one hand.
“What’s that you bought?” he asked. “A keychain. You?” you look at the box he was holding. “My parting gift.” He smiled.
Your heart suddenly sunk. You looked down and realized that, yeah, this may be the last time you’ll ever see him. There were so many things to do, so many things to say, and yet you chose to let things be.
You didn’t want to admit it, but the feelings were too loud be ignored.
Unexpectedly, you felt Taehyung’s arm pressed against your shoulder. You look at him surprised at the sudden gesture “Men are eyeing you at 3 o’clock. Can’t let them try to ask for your number” he whispered.
“What? Are you my boyfriend now?” you taunt him one last time. “It’s fun to pretended that I am, at least for today” he shrugged. You heaved. An agonizing one.

By mid-noon, you two were at the beach, savoring the heat of the sun and the soft sand. You playfully reapplied sunscreen on his face, copying the look of a military soldier. He grinned. One last time. His boxy grin that you like.
“I’m hungry. Wanna grab snack?” he asked. You nod. “Wait here, there’s a hotdog stand right there” he points. “I’ve been eyeing it for so long, it seems good.”
“Be back okay?” you demanded. He just chuckled.
You turned away from the sun, letting your back get a tan.
A minute passed. Then another. Then another. Kim Taehyung hasn’t come back. You started to worry. You stood up and ran towards the hotdog stand that he pointed earlier.
You look around, but he wasn’t there. “Taehyung?”
“Hey, lady?” you heard the man tending the stand call for you. You swiftly turn to him “Um. Hey have you seen a guy. This tall” you reached above your head “Hair a bit curly and overgrown, tan, wearing a pink brace?”
“Yeah” he just left. You were starting to breathe fast and heavy. “Did he say where he went?”
He nods. “He told me that if a girl that looks like you came here, that I should give you this.” He took out a box. The one Taehyung was holding earlier. You shook your head. His answer was unresponsive.
“No, this is impor—” you tried to explain but he continued “He told me to tell you ‘not to worry’ and that he hated to say goodbyes.” You looked down, and bit your lip.
You gave up and just took the box “Thank you…” you turned around and opened it. “It’s better this way. You’ll be safe” you read the note inside.

“Excuse me, can I borrow a pen please?” Taehyung asked the man tending the hotdog stand.
He pulled out pieces of clean paper from his pocket, the one he collected in the hotel lobby, and wrote down a note “It’s better this way. You’ll be safe”
His phone rang. “Yeah, we’re here. Meet you there in 10 minutes”
“I’ve managed to take down Müller and his men. Y/N should be safe for now, she still can’t come with. I don’t like women” the man said on the other line.
“Thank you, Jungkook.” He breathed.
“Master Jeon. Not Jungkook” he corrected “And I don’t like waiting inside the helicopter. Whatever it is, make it quick” Jungkook is one of Taehyung most trusted friends. He recently took over his late-father, an influential businessman and an alleged mafia boss.
“I’m sorry if I asked you this favor. I didn’t know she’ll be a part of this. It’s true Mr. Ong and his men were part of the illegal trade. He got furious when I managed to bring the file to you last year. So, I don’t know, he’s just one bitter old man who can’t accept his lost and ordered someone put a bullet straight on my arm”
Jungkook chuckled. “Mr. Singh’s pretty tedious, Taehyung. He wants his things pristine clean. He’ll want her dead. Can’t let her squeak. How are you going to keep her alive?”
He held on to a bracelet, with a lock charm. He watched it dangling from his hand. “I gave her something, I’m pretty sure she’ll know what to do. Might even give us freedom.”
“Freedom? The only time you’ll be free is when you’re dead” Jungkook stated as matter of fact.
He nods. Taehyung licked his lips and tried to hide his tears with the back of his hand.
“…Are you… crying?” Jungkook asked.
He is. He didn’t want to leave you like this but he has to.
“I’ll see you later Jeon, yeah?” he hung up. He stared back to where he left you. From a far he could see lying down, reading the book you borrowed back in the hotel.
“Excuse me” he called the man again. “If you a see girl wearing a pink swimsuit, hair like this…” he traced your hair from his head. “Around this height” he pointed from his shoulder. “Please give this to her. Tell her not to worry… I just…” he choked. As he breathed hard “I can’t say it…”.
For one last time, he extends his phone in front of him. Click! Saved. It was a picture of you smiling from a far. Oblivious from his goodbye.

You suddenly remembered the time you had a conversation with him in Provence:
“If you weren’t an agent, what would you be by now?”
He smiled. “If I tell you, you promise you won’t laugh?”
You forced out a laugh then you agreed. “Alright, game. What is it?”
He smiled.
“A photographer”.
It was mini-album book filled with printed photographs.
The first photograph was the scenery from Bruges Belgium. You realized that the clicking sound that day came from him, because when you flipped the page you found a photograph of you. Holding a cup of chocolate, he bought for you.
‘Sorry if this wasn’t coffee’ a note was written below it.
“You jerk!” tears began to fall uncontrollably down your cheeks.
You flipped another page. It was a good still-capture of the stars when you two lay rest on the field of Provence, France.
Then the next: It was you sleeping soundly on his chest.
‘I’d like to tell you something that night, but I was too scared. You deserve better’ another note written below it.
You furtively flipped another page. It was a photograph of you falling asleep on the car, badly angled that highlighted your double chin. You laugh mid-cry.
‘Didn’t we have fun?’ he wrote down. You nodded. “We did.” You gasped, aching.
You flipped another page. It was a picture of the street of Montpellier. You remembered the time you two got so tired from bickering, it drained the two of you hard. You remembered the taste of the best baguette you ever had. The way you two briefly held hands on the street, trying not to lose him from the crowd. The way you held your laughter when he imitated the rude lady behind her back, while you two were waiting for your turn in the gelato stand. You faintly chuckled. Then you flipped to the last page.
A photograph of you, beautifully shot inside the Cathedral. Lost and unaware that he took a picture of you staring at the ceiling.
‘Maybe one day, I’ll find you here again. Promise not to leave each other” You lost it. You shut your eyes and cried hard. You clutched on the book. You didn’t care about the money anymore. To hell with it. You want Taehyung and you want to see him again right in front of you bad. Still even if you wish hard, when you open your eyes, there was only space to face.
Time and again. He said everything for you. All the things you were afraid to tell him, all the things you were afraid to let him know. He never asked but the answer was already loud, yet it wouldn’t leave your chest. And just like that, you lost him again. He left without even hearing you utter a single word.
Suddenly you felt something drop. A bracelet with a locket.
You hurriedly went back to the hotel. You hastily opened it, using a keychain screw. Finally, it revealed its content. It was another memory card. You took your laptop and have it read by a device.
This time, it wasn’t just a single file anymore. It was multiple of it.
While studying its content, you uncovered the reason why Mr. Singh wanted Taehyung so bad.
Taehyung learned about several back door deals, including Mr. Singh’s that turned him influential. Together with other politicians and international officers, they manipulated certain documents and continuously abet corruption against third-world countries.
It made you understand why Mr. Singh wanted Taehyung alive. He knew more than anyone can, he wanted to horde those secrets. Taehyung’s knowledge was for more precious than anything in this world. He wanted Taehyung for him. He wanted to be in control, and he wanted to remain in control.
“They caused the trouble. Not us, not Kim Taehyung. We’re just scapegoats” you clenched your knuckles as you read more files.
You knew your next move.

“Just In: Mr. Ong, an officer in the international trade bureau were arrested earlier from his home in Hong Kong. An unidentified whistleblower, submitted several documents to XYZ broadcast which was then surrendered to the international tribunal as pieces of evidence against him and among others. It was found that Mr. Singh, an oil tycoon, was behind all of public back door deals, human trafficking, illegal trade in…” you faintly heard the news from the TV, as you left the bar.
It’s been over a few months since the events happened. You decided to turn in the files to a broadcast station. It was the better option, but with disadvantage.
You’ve been living in the City of Valletta, Malta as a consequence. You exiled yourself down here, an island with a population of just half a million. It was peaceful and serene. You knew some men were out looking for you as retaliation. However, several international officers pledged to keep you protected against them after your good deed.
This city was their safest bet.
“One more beer please!” you point out your mug from the waiter. It was late in the afternoon and you were already out early for a drink. Now hammered before night fall.
“Fuck, Valentines. You people know no shit!” you cursed and cry from your table. You were sitting outside the bar, staring at the lovers holdings hands on the street.
Suddenly you heard a familiar song playing from the public square.
♬ “Kiss me out on the bearded barley. Nightly, beside the green, green grass…” ♬
You bawled. Pathetic, drunk and wasted at 5 in the afternoon.
The song reminded you of him. For months, you tried to look for Taehyung. You waited for news. None. You asked people around. None. You paid someone to hack public servers. Still, none. No signs of Kim Taehyung. You didn’t know where he went, or if he was still alive.
You decided to try and move on. Still, it was difficult.
“That idiot he must be de… no” you shook you head. “I would know… maybe he is with someone now?” you whimpered.
You called the waiter and looked at him “I didn’t even get to tell him how I feel? God, I’m so stupid…” you banged your head hard on the table. The waiter rolls his eyes as he filled your mug to the brim. “Thank you. I needed more” you told him. “As long as you pay” he sighed and left.
You chugged on your drink and wiped your mouth with the back of your hand. You rummaged for money on your purse and left your payment on the table. You stood up despite your world turning hazy. Slowly you leveled yourself and took a few steps. You wanted to move to another bar that serves harder liquors. You didn’t care anymore; you were miserable and determined to get smashed.
“----!!” you heard someone scream. You scoffed. Who might be the idiot shouting on the street? You wonder, but you continued walking, too unbothered.
“Y/N!”
“What? I paid! Didn’t you see?” you yelled from where you stood, not minding to turn your back.
“Y/N!!”
“I said I paid! God! Whatever, I’m leaving! I’m leaving before you all do!” you wobbled a bit but quickly gained stability.
The singer abruptly stopped. “Y/N!” you heard someone call for you from the loudspeaker. You froze. That voice sounded familiar
“Excuse us, if your name is Y/N and you know a man named Kim Taehyung, please come up to the stage and claim him so I can return to singing.” The woman spoke, evidently annoyed. You turned around and squint your eyes.
Did you hear it right? Or was it alcohol talking?
Suddenly you saw a man running up to you. Your eyes weren’t deceiving.
“Taehyung!” You immediately ran towards him despite being drunk. Quickly you jumped, and he reached. He grabbed you by the arms and swung you around in the air.
You cried. You didn’t hesitate anymore as you closed in for a kiss. He kissed back and deepened it.
♬ “Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance, silver moon sparkling. So, kiss me” ♬
You parted. “Did you requested that song?” he nods. “Check off our bucket list” he grinned as he finally put you down on your toes.
You cupped his cheek and cried. You couldn’t believe it. Finally, his face was right in front of you. No longer a space.
“What’s next?” you asked.
“Maybe coffee?” he smiled. You nodded. “Yeah, I’d love that”.

A/N: Hi everyone, I’m very grateful for giving us your time. First of all, I would like to sincerely apologize for leaving everyone hanging on “Got It”. It was initially planned as a One Shot but after getting positive feedbacks and request, I decided to conclude this with a better ending. I reflected for a little while (also after getting a good beating from Slyn <also a writer who I collab for this fic> who also wanted to send them off with a good ending) and realized that it was a Valentines Special and yet neither one of them (y/n and taehyung) were genuinely happy at the end. It was indeed absurd. Hence, this sequel. We hope you enjoy the second and final shot for this Valentine special.
also Disclaimer: I’ve never been to any of these countries before. So, apologies if I ever misdescribe the places. I was just watching random travel videos/virtual walks while I workout and thought ‘hey! must be amazing to go around these places with someone special’ then bam! I thought about kth in this fic and y/n. Must be pretty cute if they got stuck together too. Sorry I’m babbling nonsense but anyway thank you for getting this far!! :>
