The last time you had been late for class was when you were 12 – and for good reason. Your period had started and stained your skirt just as you were walking out the door; had it not been for your mother, who was gardening away even at eight-thirty in the morning, you would have experienced the most embarrassing moment of your young life.

This, however, was not a good reason. How were you supposed to explain that you had been pulled aside by a greaser (your greaser), Jeon Jungkook, no less, kissed until you couldn’t tell if the world was upside down or if you were just experiencing the dizzy euphoria that usually came after he swept you up like he did? How were you to explain why your new lipstick was smudged or why your hair wasn’t as perfect as it had been barely an hour ago, or why your skirt had suddenly become wrinkled from being hiked up around your waist?

“Don’t, then,” Jungkook said, and you can tell he has that smirk on his face – the smirk he’s known for, the smirk he gives before revving his car or punching a soc in the jaw (or, as he is now, before he convinces you to do something you wouldn’t have dreamed of doing in your previous years).
