in turkey on someone’s birthday they say “iyi ki doğdun” usually followed with “iyi ki varsın” and to the day it always stayed with me as one of my favorite ways of congratulating someone (or telling them how much they mean to you) because it’s so sincere and the emotions, the literal meaning can’t be translated and that’s what makes it even more special, roughly it means “im happy you were born” “im happy you exist/blessed to have you,” but it’s way more meaningful and personal than that, it so heartfelt
