Okay, guys. Hear me out for like two minutes.

Bruno would definitely be that one relative who takes in and cares for abandoned fancy rats. Like he has a bunch of enclosures for them and makes sure that they're thriving and healthy before putting them up for adoption.

He even owns three of his own, with his personal favorite being a cute white and tawny colored one that he named Kelpie.

Mirabel would also sometimes come to speak with him, only to pause when she sees him practically covered in sleeping, baby rats and he says "They're sleeping, and I don't want to disturb them."

He also gets emotionally attached to the rats, and if he realizes that one of them is reaching the end of it's lifespan, he'll do his best to make sure they're comfortable in their last moments. And when that time comes, he just...breaks. He's devastated, and thinking that he has failed them. But he knows that he has to keep going for the others, no matter how many times his heart breaks.
