you're probably reading too far into it -- but by god, rin wants you to read too far into it. the way his tone sounds almost more like a request than a demand. the way there's a spark of something behind his words. the way his turquoise eyes and resting bitch face are practically begging you to pass to him and him alone... to love him, and him alone.

the words slip right out of his mouth before he can stop himself and realize how ridiculous and nonsensical he sounded. the words threaten to go in one ear and out the other before you really realize what he just said. no, it wasn't a mistake.

"i guess i'll keep passing like that, then?"

"not even passing. just... being. keep being like that." his sentences don't come out how he wants them to, and he finds it so stupid how his heart is racing and his hands are shaking. he's made this worse, hasn't he?

"rin, is this... is this a confession?"

having hope feels stupid. it probably is stupid. rin seems perfectly happy in his grumpy little soccer world. you seem perfectly happy in your little soccer world.
