let me explain: I don't like Ace, but I wouldn't say I dislike him either. he feels like an annoying little brother, who I need to look after and who keeps doing stupid shit that I would tell him not to do, but I'm still fond of. also, he's the one being put in Situations™ by the fandom 85% of the time, so... he's had it rough in fics.
