Honestly Though. Strangers Always Say To Me - Tumblr Posts

I grew up across two continents, Australia and North America. As a kid in the southern US, I was mocked for my Australian accent, called British and a couple of times, attacked for ‘vengeance’ against the UK.

Now, several years later and having moved to the UK as well as speaking more languages, I’ve developed the ability to mimic accents extremely well. No matter who I talk to, my voice will change completely and suddenly, down to regional dialects and 2nd language speakers. If your first language is Russian but you’re speaking English, I will sound like someone who is Russian speaking English. Every accent from every state in the US, different British dialects and inflections

I’ve been told it’s a talent and a gift, but it’s not something I do intentionally. I don’t have my own accent. My voice. I sacrificed individuality for the ability to blend in and even now I’m like this, changing accent and personality and demeanour and humour and manners and everything depending on who I’m with.

and I fucking hate it

why are british people always so mad when people make jokes about their accents. sorry you say yewchube. it’s funny though innit
