Honkai Star Rail Lore - Tumblr Posts
Makes me wonder which half of Lan belongs to whom LMAO /j
Aeons were actually just regular people that explored a Path completely to the point they became it (save for Nous maybe since THEY were a supercomputer). So THEY had genders before, but once THEY became Aeons, that fell away.
During the Total Recall quest (spoilers!), Memory-Herta says that March was a fallen Aeon, which I guess is possible but may not be likely (don't quote me in this 💀), but it does imply that it's possible for Aeons to lose THEIR position without being killed or absorbed by another Aeon. Since THEIR past ceases to exist once THEY become Aeons (it all just becomes part of THEIR Path, not part of THEIR own being), a fallen Aeon must take on a new form entirely then?
Just some lore crumbs I guess 💀 I go feral for Aeon lore fr.
Idrila?
Idrila also is genderless. THEIR appearance varies as THEY appear as whoever the observer finds most beautiful. THEY could appear as male or female depending on who looks at THEM, but in THEIR essence, THEY are genderless. That actually fits THEIR Path well because beauty is abstract, and being objectively "male" or "female" limits that.
Argenti mentions in one of his voicelines that the Knights spread the grace of the "Goddess". That doesn't mean Idrila is female, but probably that Argenti and other knights perceive THEM as female. Also probably since femininity is usually associated with beauty in old art and literature lol.
I also assumed at first that Idrila is female, but THEY are an Aeon, so gender is still a concept that doesn't apply to THEM. THEY could still potentially appear more feminine like Xipe, or even more masculine like Nanook, because we're yet to see THEM in game.
Idrila is a weird one, because THEY technically can appear female or male if the observer perceives THEM as such. Thanks for the ask, anon! Hopefully I made some sense 🧚♀️✨
