Okay so, one of my personal headcanons with Aether is that he’s an absolute *mess* around anyone he likes. Blushing, stuttering, the works. Even as a yandere, when face to face with his obsession he’ll still be a mess. This goes away with time once he makes them *his*, but it’s genuinely one of my favorite headcanons because it’s so soft

aethers a bit of a try-hard when it comes to winning your affections over. he'll always offer a helping hand, taking on the bigger works and problems head on for you with this cute blush and gentle smile permanently etched on his face. when aether has a crush on you, you can definitely tell, if not for the way he doesn't let you do even the most basic things by yourself, then by simply the gleam in his eyes that says you're the only person in his world.

poor thing. he can barely speak to you when he has a crush. once the nation-renowned traveler, known for his power in defeating those with great power and helping those in need no matter what, is now reduced to a stuttering mess of a man. he also can't help but want to go everywhere with you, trailing behind and killing off any pesks that get in your way while he looks at you longingly, hoping you'd praise him for his hard efforts.

and the traveler has been such a hard worker, especially after all he's accomplished in the nation's he's been to. surely, just surely, you'd give him his due reward, right?

in the college au, this helpful, happy-go-lucky attitude, mixed with his snarky and funny personality is what makes him such a great potential roommate! he really does try hard to win your affections, cooking amazing meals with great skill, making the house look spotless on a daily occasion, moving the heavy furniture with ease, all of it! aether even tries tutoring you if you need it. it's a shame he's not in any of your classes, so there's not really much he can teach you, but he can try, right?

overall, aether is just so shameless, so blushy and stuttering and so determined to win you over that it's heartwarming. it doesn't help that he's a delusional yandere, and so, so utterly convinced that his hard work will pay off in due time, especially since he's so convinced you two are meant to be.

and I know you didn't talk about lumine, but there's even less content for her than aether (and aether already has a terribly low amount of content), so I'll just talk about her here because I love her. I like using her abyss princess personality to give the twins contrast, since aether is my mc.

lumine is a lot more stoic, a lot more quiet, a lot more willing to sit down and listen carefully and see what tasks you need help with before she divulges on her own to do whatever she can to make your day brighter and life easier without you asking her to. have a commission that no one at the adventures guild has done yet? she'll complete it right now! need a special ingredient for a recipe you're working on but it's in a whole other nation? don't worry your pretty little head about it, she travels in and out of there all the time! she can do just about anything for you if you let her.

her stoicness makes her crush more apparent on you in comparison to aether. atleast aether is always helpful, smiley and blushy towards everyone. but lumine? lumines so openly (and oddly) clingy and blushy and there's a light, faint smile she has whenever she's around you. it's so easy to tell the difference between her towards normal, everyday people, and you.

as for the college au, this stoic but kind underneath personality is what makes her such an amazing friend. her presence is so unbelievably soothing, especially in the wake of the oddities of others close to you in your life. when you talk, she listens, rubbing a soothing hand along your back if she needs to and offers to do anything to make you feel better. and when I say anything, I mean anything.

she also manipulates you from the sidelines towards her favor, confirming any suspicions you may have about how weird those around you have been acting. you deserve more than what you're getting right now, she tells you. and only she can give you what you rightfully deserve. don't you get that?
