Humility Before God - Tumblr Posts

Even Dr. Malcolm needs to be humbled before God — as we all do — here.

Who made “Nature”?

Who does it belong to?

Who made “geniuses”?

GOD!

Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should…

It is a struggle in Connecticut and New England, to understand an American responsibility to be guides in the world honoring and aspiring to representing God’s perfect justice as close as humanly possible, with the traces of “Old World” ancestry touching everything. Many of the oldest lines in The USA are tied to European royal families by shared ancestry (I even hesitated to make sure I communicated the part about God’s perfect justice with accurate reverence; I often struggle to slow down and remember reverence is more important than entertaining an audience with fanciful wordplay.)

What does it mean in relation to obedience to God and the power our ancestors had as overseers of God’s resources? Were they examples of frugality, of how far resources could be stretched to sustain the daily needs of a people, while preparing for the feasts God ordered and saving for when God would declare it time for a debt jubilee?

This was what it meant when God knew David should be King by how he managed his flock and how obediently he trusted and deferred to God’s wisdom In deflecting outsized attackers of his flock.

I have been pondering how to make this truth clear to my nephews, who I care for during the week and strive to not waste a moment of their childhood by failing to bring God into their lives by bringing them to Jesus.

I have been carefully explaining what it meant for David to win in a battle against Goliath: He only could have won by trusting God completely and it was essential that God show the most powerful army and people that God must do what God must do and he will humble the mighty to save souls.

God did it by the people around David witnessing what complete, unchallenging obedience to God results in: Perfect justice.

What’s missing from the top of that church?

The Cross. A Church not loudly celebrating Jesus is no church his Father will call his and feel welcome in. It can’t be omitted.

(“Death is uncertain yet most sure. Sin is the wound Christ is the cure.” A centuries old gravestone, chipped away at by a radical, Satanic activist just because it tells the truth.

Beware. God will not be mocked. Jesus didn’t deserve that.)

The mill by Mansfield Hollow Dam is now being used as an “Art Research” facility by The University of Connecticut.

Wouldn’t it be powerful to research Connecticut’s mill history and the lives of our historical workers, their interaction with the mill space and their emotional relief contact with nature around them?

Many children once worked in these mills: Were they able to feel any moments of the childhood joy they should have felt, seeing burbling brooks, rivers, trees and animals? Are there any mill nooks where they might have had a moment of peace?
