Meet Mel and Donut

Mel was the victor of the 72nd hunger games and is from district 8

She grew up on a sheep farm next to a village in the middle of nowhere

I have a lot to say about this farm and how her name got pulled but I don’t want to get into it right now

She won her games by taming a wolf mutation who fought alongside her/for her

This is Donut she’s a huge wolf, probably as big as a Mastiff with huge teeth and claws that was made to kill, but the capital forgot to take out the pack bonding and after a joint traumatic experience Mel and Donut became inseparable

Here’s the joke part since Donut is a wolf and looks like a big fluffy husky she became so popular that no one even remembers Mel

Even on official documents and public appearances Donut is labeled the victor instead of Mel

Mel and Donut mostly just live on her parents sheep farm next to a village that’s so small and remote they didn’t even know there was a war

I actually do want to talk about the village now

I don’t think the capital has enough resources to have control over everyone in North America, I’m not talking about the well documented small town I’m talking about the random groups of people that live in the middle of nowhere and Alaska

What the capital just thinks is Mel’s dad and uncle’s sheep farm is a small village of less than 300 people, there lives are still terrible but there’s no peacekeepers

" she silence caused her to bite her nail roughly, tugging until her nail tore and began to bleed, her eyes on the crimson liquid that slowly slid down her finger

" birdie mae affrons " the lady yelled, she quickly looked up as she could feel herself tear up staring blankly at the paper that had her name scribbled down on it. " poor bambi,, dying the same way her friend died " whispered a older lady near her.. they believed she'll die?? that she has no chance? that caused her heart to shatter, as she felt herself be shoved she forced herself to move, seeing the stairs as she wondered up there.

" this can't be real " she whispered to herself as she watched the lady faced the males side now, her hands wondering towards the bowl, no matter whoever is chosen she'll die.. she hopes it'll be painless and quick – calling a name she recognized as the one she has feelings for being called, her eyes on the ground.. oh his poor family she thought as she could hear a cry from the crowd, she was ready to protect him as he stood tall infront of the crowd – they quickly shared a nod as they quietly packed together, she was ready to fight hard before dying, she needed to avenge her !! 

the two were ushered towards the train station – her heart hurting as she couldn't even say goodbye to her family, their bodies shoved until they themselves began to move, a look of distress on birdie's face.
