Some thoughts regarding Cards and *upcoming* Zatanna: Bring down the House #4
Since the upcoming issue is only 4 days ahead.
Here are some of the Meanings behind the cards in relation to the story and its characters.
Please note: I am not an expert. This is soley based on reseach because I was interested in it. Also, I am currently trying to learn Balatro. A lot of cards also have different meanings depending where you're from and ofc meanings can change overtime and ofc depends on what type of card reading.
Before I start. Here, I have two Zatanna playing Cards in my Collection.
Justice League playing card deck (german edition)
Out of the entire cardset only one features Zee.
D - Dame (engl. "Lady") which is the German Queen.
Black Queen of Clubs
a brunette woman, who is well-behaved, very spiritual, and who loves to be of service.
Cartoon Network: Young Justice Playing Cards Game
This set was given out for free at the Warner Bros Booth, SDCC 2011.
If I am not mistaken, it also spoiled several characters, including Zee.
I won't be opening my card set - so here have a poor quality image.
7 of hearts
indicates a period of emotional healing and inner growth.
Anyways, here is
Zatanna: The Queen of Hearts
Compassion, warmth, self-love, counselor, healer, supportive, divine feminine, unconditional love
But it can also mean
Insecure, fragile, dependent, over-giving, martyr
"The Queen of hearts evokes the feelings of unconditional and caring love."
Constantine: The Jack of Hearts
The original name of the cards used to be Knave of Hearts -While in an english nursery ryhme the character "Knave" is being portrayed as a thief, the orginal card is deeply associated with love.
"This card is a reminder to stay open-hearted and receptive to the love and emotional support around you."
Probably as a homage to the nursery rhyme - John is taking one of Zees cards. I wonder if he will give Zee her Card back by the end of the issue.)
Cover A for issue 1: Zee with a Royal Flush (aka Zee's Royal Flush*)
The heart suit depicts emotions, family, home, and relationships.
Royal Flush is symbol of success, rarity, and odds of ultimate victory.
In relation to the comic the royal flush is also interesting since it contains 5 cards - the story is told within 5 issues. I wonder if each issue represents one if these cards in some way. Or if its "just" the characters.
