Fic Preview: Patient 4885

Pairing: Minho x Fem!Reader

Fic Summary: The scum of Gotham love to corrupt the remaining good in the city as a hobby. How far are you willing to go to find out the truth?

Word Count: 900 and some change

Author’s Note: I wanted to tease what I’ve been working on. Writing has been a bit of a struggle the last few months, but I think I’m out of my depressive rut. Let’s hope at least. Don't panic if you don't know much about the Arkham universe. This fic will be taking minor lore from Batman: Arkham Aslyum. Also a big shoutout and thank you to @svintsandghosts for this lovely edit. She saw my vision. She believes in it.

3/28 Session Notes: I’ve had my first meeting with Minho today. He was reserved. Understandable for the first session. I took the time for us to introduce ourselves and talk about what our plan is going forward. So far, he’s not receptive to the thought of therapy however I assured him this is our starting point. Will be keeping track of important sessions during his care.

4/05 Session Notes: I’m admitting Minho to Arkham as a patient. I believe he would be a good candidate for Jeremiah's program. Unfortunately, with Minho’s upcoming court dates we don’t know the severity of his sentencing. That's if his judge even makes it to October. Minho doesn’t appear bothered either way. The best thing we can do is keep him isolated from his former colleagues. With the increasing intake of Joker’s men, it’s becoming easier said than done. We can’t have Minho leading these men again. It’s a breakout waiting to happen. As a result, I’ve taken Minho out of the penitentiary and moved him across the island to maximum security.

4/10 Session Notes: Minho is in isolation today. I received security footage of him out of his cell after hours. Head of security states faulty wiring but unable to rule out if tampering was involved. Minho claims he never touched the door but heard it clicking. I believe him but Dr. Crane enforced isolation as it was after hours, and he left his cell. Two days is minimal. I will speak to Minho tomorrow.

5/02 Session Notes: What does a man fear if he has nothing to lose? I believe Minho was shaped by the upbringing he had. Any sense of weakness can be used against him. If I can find that vulnerability then maybe, just maybe I can crack the surface. That fragile boy is inside him and he deserves his chance to heal.

5/15 Session Notes: I may have found the loose string. Han was a name that slipped out today. Minho clammed up after. I won’t press for now as it appears to be a touchy subject. We’ve made good progress and I’m worried if I pry too early Minho will sink back further into his shell. Today was good though.

5/27 Session Notes: Due to good behavior, I have allowed Minho to join the group out in the gardens. He enjoys being busy. I think maintaining the greenhouse will be good for him. Gives him a sense of purpose. A goal to look forward too. I’ve taken liberties with security and orderlies to keep Minho separated from the two other Joker associates in the crew. This limits contact or any potential communication.

6/22 Session Notes: A riot broke out today. With Joker’s short stay here, it’s riled up all of his associates. Minho included. Even with limited contact he’s managed to keep his position in Joker’s chain of command. Needs to be investigated. Minho refuses to answer my questions on who his contact is. He will no longer be working in the gardens as a result.

6/30 Session Notes: I placed Minho in isolation today. Once again, he was found outside his cell. Third time this week. Unsure if cell failed to close or if security guard was bribed. Footage of the hallway is pending. Minho states he was simply going for a walk. We have to figure out who on the staff is the liaison. I worry this will escalate.

7/03 Session Notes: Maximum Security was locked down for half of the day today. If it wasn’t for Minho, I don’t think I would be alive right now. This complicates things for us. It might be for the best I leave Minho in Dr. Crane’s care.

7/13 Session Notes: Jeremiah reinstated me over Minho today. Normally we don’t bend our ways towards our patients, but if it calms Minho down then we’ll do it. He’s already responded better. A flip of a switch and the rioting has stopped for now. I worry what the consequences of this will be. Jonathan…Dr. Crane believes Minho is infatuated with me. He has the audacity to tell me to use his little crush against him. An outrageous claim, but if true, then maybe I can get him to behave.

9/01 Session Notes: Minho is working in the gardens again. His good behavior has returned. I pressured head of security to add new cameras into my office to provide evidence to Jeremiah of Minho’s progress. Due to previous staff having inappropriate behavior I wanted to assure everyone history isn’t repeating itself. I think we’re back on track now.

9/25 Session Notes: A storm is coming. Joker has been admitted back into Arkham as of twenty minutes ago. I fear for another breakout. All this work with Minho and for nothing if I’m correct. I’m unsure how to proceed. I can’t put Minho in solitary for nothing. I won’t do that. Not when I’ve earned his trust.

10/28 Session Notes:

I am a liar.

I’m ungrateful for the protection Minho has given me.

I don’t deserve an ounce of his kindness after leaving without saying goodbye.

I shouldn’t have kept personal information accessible and sure as shit shouldn’t have continued my plans for my wedding. What a fool!

But that’s okay, Minho will make it better. I’m just confused and he’ll set me straight. ❤️🖤
