immediately, your facetime rang, it was xu minghao. you picked up the phone just to see and hear minghao humming a song; i don't understand but i luv u by seventeen.
"hao?" you say, your voice soft and calm, waiting for minghao's response.
"huh? oh yeah... i need to tell you something" minghao replies, with a bit of shock when he heard your voice.
a bit of silence fills the call, but minghao is still humming the song.
what is the song supposed to mean? does he love you in a way that you could never imagine? will he say something that will make him more than a little crush to you?
"what are you gonna tell me?" you ask him, a bit of nonchalance in your voice.
"i like listening to your laugh when you're talking with me... and you look cute whenever you put your hair behind your ear, when you make different faces whenever you think hard.. when you bite your bottom lip whenever you try to stop yourself from talking, you're also really cute and when you concentrate and bite the inside of your cheek.. basically everything about you" minghao replied quietly, but loud enough for you to hear him.
you let out a sigh of relief, not too loud nor quiet. you just look at minghao's face and admire him for a few moments. he glanced at your face and you both made eye contact before you looked away shyly.
"are you mad?" minghao whispers softly with a small look of fear painted on his face.
"no...." you reply, with a stern tone.
there was silence for a few moments before minghao spoke up. "y/n. if that was too much for you...i'm really sorry for everything i've done to hurt you in any way."
"why would that be too much for me? i love hearing compliments from you.." you said, giving minghao a sense of assurance that made his lips curve into a small smile.
another few moments of silence happens and minghao looks much happier than before. you look at each other and minghao starts to sing a song you've never heard before. his voice is ethereal and makes you feel peaceful, making your heart flutter.
it was now 11:55pm. it seemed you were both waiting for someone to speak up.
"i like your smile...and how you get jealous everytime i'm with other guys....and your artworks...and when you ask to sit with me, and even when you just talk to me or look at me..." you spoke gently and softly to him.
minghao's smile grew wider and wider as you spoke, making you smile because his happiness is way too contagious. "so if i was to ask you to be my girlfriend right now.. you'd accept.. with no hesitation.. right?.. and you'd be mine and only mine.. you wouldn't go flirting with any other guys right?.."
"i would say yes immediately.." you replied and smiled gently at him.
minghao hummed sweetly, looking at you before saying: "will you be my girlfriend?" he covered his face with his hands and waited for your response.
"oh my gosh?? yes!!!" your face slowly started to warm up and turn red after you said this, both of you were admiring each other's faces.
"okay i'm coming right now baobeiii" minghao ends the call and rushes to get some decent-looking clothes and go to your home. it's really late at night, so there was barely any traffic.
you hear a knock on your front door. who could it be? you opened the door to find xu minghao holding a bunch of flowers for you. "hi my love"
you pull minghao into a big, warm hug, causing him to drop the flowers and hug you back. he pulled away from the hug and without saying anything, his lips pressed onto yours gently. "i love you and everything about you. can we stay together forever?"
