Marijuana Is Kosher — But Is It Halal?

The laws of kosher and halal share a lot in common. What are their views on cannabis? Is it haram?

I found this article really interesting. I did not know that Jews can have marijuana. But it is kosher and kosher for Passover. However, I was also very surprised that marijuana is OK as far as Islam is concerned. Mostly. Medical marijuana is OK but if you’re using it to get into a different mental state then that isn’t OK. Overall, an interesting exploration.
