I Know The Whole Kicking A Guy In The Balls Is A Bit Immature But It's Cannon Ok. - Tumblr Posts

Oh my Gods, yes. How did I not think of it. I'm sure you've already written a way better version of this. But I'm going to give it a shot if you don't mind.

(forgive me if there are any mistakes, English is not my first language and I am dyslexic)

I hope you like it.

For a rare occasion I was actually at the camp fire. I don't wanna hear it, Jason insisted. And, I will never admit this out loud but, he said some people were kinda picking on him. Or as he said 'making fun' of him. So here I am, on a late summer night. Sitting with him around the roaring fire. He's managed to convince me let him have my hand, I'm not a big fan but if it makes him feel better I couldn't care less. Most people have already left, leaving only a few people around us. Jason's talking to some Hermes kid, and I can't seem to decide if he sounds tired or nervous. I squeeze his hand, he squeezes back and I relax. Looking into the fire like it would do me any good, sitting here reminds me of meeting Hestia. She sat right were I'm sitting now. She hasn't been here for a while, she probably been busy.

I glace over to Jason as his fingers tense up in mine. Another Hermes kid (he's maybe 16) has joined their conversation. Jason shifts a tiny bit closer to me. Nervous. They haven't said anything rude or weird, but just having them here making him nervous and me mad. How do these boys think they are, I let go of his hand, firmly resting my arm around him. He eases slightly, putting his left hand over mine. We lock fingers. Out of nowhere, the older one decides it's time to test the waters. "I mean" He laughs "You're mother wanted nothing to do with you, your father doesn't either, and no one here wants you around. That must feel.." The words alone have me urging to jump up. But the tone, the audacity, the laughter, no God damn way I'm letting that happen. The younger Hermes kid laughs along. "So wonderful" The few other campers around look over. I chuckle and pull my arm back, raising from my seat next to him, a spot in the dark.

"What now?" I ask, my voice filing the silence. Even the crackling fire seems to go quiet at the challenge. The youngest boy shy's away from the fire. But I call him back "Don't think you can out run me" I warn. He returns to stand at the oldest side. The youngest is a little shorter than me, that would be an easy one. The oldest, about Jason's height, so half a head taller than me. Doesn't matter though. Jason tugs at my hand, I vaguely see him shake his head in the darkness. I shake his hand off. "Do wanna say that again?" I demand. The youngest who hadn't really said anything, shakes his head wildly. "N-no" He mutters. The oldest laughs crossing his arms. "You don't scare me. I said that no one wants-" I cut him off with a punch right in his mouth. Hopefully knocking out a few teeth. The youngest runs away, but I don't notice anything else then the fact that the oldest just hit the ground in front of me. I get in a kick between his legs, and curls on on his side. The only sounds left in the air is the sound of the fire and the bitch groaning. A few other campers chuckle. I crouch down beside him, feet in front of his face. There's a little blood dripping down his chin.

"Leave him alone, got it?" He grimaces and stutters "Y-you fucking psycho!" I chuckle and kick him square in the teeth. That'll hurt to fix. "Got it?" I repeat. Louder this time. "Yes yes!" He yells through the blood spilling out of his mouth. There's blood on my boots. I'll wash them "Nico" Jason's slapped his hand over his mouth. I push myself off the ground and walk back to where Jason is sitting in either awe or in disgust. "You didn't have to do that, I could have handle it on my own" He mutters. "We both know you won't gonna, so I did" I take his hand and pull him up. "Come on, let's get out of here before the little one comes back with Chiron" I say, turning to the firepit. As if on cue the fire dies down, so that everyone around it can see me standing here. "None of you say anything" I grumble. The few vague silhouettes nod, some chuckle and I chuckle along.

On the way back to my cabin, Jason argues with me over the fact that it was not necessary. I kindly remind him that all the times he defends me are not always necessary either. After that, he shut up, and just swings my hand back and forward in his.

Sure Jason is protective of Nico but you can be damn sure I’ll write one about Nico defending Jason.
