I am realizing that it is simply Deeper than what I had previously thought when it comes to yandere Kalim and how I write him.
Jamil is inherently and incredibly unhappy with his lot in life. That much is obvious. And as the years went by and he and Kalim proved to be more and more inseparable by the day, he lost his smile and his laughter. Being with Yuu would open up a new side of Jamil once they're in a relationship. Yuu tries taking care of him, no matter how flawed those attempts are, and does their best to look after his happiness. They take as much of the weight off his shoulders as they can and it's liberating. He's finally given time and space to love, to laugh, to just let it all go and smile again.
And Kalim sees that.
Kalim sees that Yuu is just as essential to Jamil as Jamil is essential to him, he knows that Yuu brings him the happiness he needs, and he would never want to destroy that. Yuu is kind to Kalim, despite how high maintenance he is, and sees more of him than just his parties and his money. That alone is just about all Kalim wants, but they've proved themself to be even more on top of that. He wants to be a part of what Yuu and Jamil have, desperately so, because he hopes that's all he needs too. No cost is too high, no effort is too much, no amount of time is too long, Kalim will take it upon himself to get the happiest ever after for the three of them, no matter what.
End of the Kenobi series:
Obi-Wan is on Alderaan, he's just reunited with Leia for the last time.
Now it's time for him to make his journey back to Tatooine.
Bail said he'd arranged something for him but brushed any and all of Obi-Wan's questions aside.
Eventually, Bail, Breha and Leia are leaving the platform when a ship pulls up. Leia glances back one last time, Bail smiles and winks at Obi-Wan.
The ramp of the ship descends and reveals someone Obi-Wan thought he'd never see again. Someone he thought had died just like the rest of his family. Someone he loved dearly and never got to say goodbye to.
"Heard you needed a ride, old man?"
Obi-Wan is too shocked to respond, thrown back years into the past when he used to look into a different pair of blue eyes and hear those same words.
"Hello Master Obi-Wan. I've missed you."
Then she's in his arms, almost a head taller than him now, no longer the girl he used to be able to tuck under his chin when he embraced her, and finally, he can breathe again.
"Oh Ahsoka."
They keep holding onto each other for a long time, already knowing the moment will come where they'll have to let go again.
Obi-Wan dreads the moment, but he accepts it. For now though he'll close his eyes and hold the girl he helped raise in his arms.
