I feel like I'm living under a rock when I ask this, but what IS twisted wonderland?

WHAT IS [TWISTED WONDERLAND]?

[Twisted Wonderland] is an upcoming Japanese battle/rhythm mobile game created by Disney(JP) and Aniplex along with Yana Toboso, who is most well-known for being the mangaka responsible for Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler.

The story direction will be overseen by Toboso-sensei as well as being the person in charge of drawing the character designs. 

Almost all of the characters take inspiration from the Disney Villains roster; the most obvious examples are our 7 dorm leaders:

[Azul Ashengrotto] of Octavinelle: Ursula from The Little Mermaid

[Kalim Al-Asim] of Scarabia: The King from Aladin (admittedly, this one wasn’t too obvious or easy at all to guess lol)

[Vil Schoenheit] of Pomefiore: The Evil Queen from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves

[Idia Shroud] of Ignihyde: Hades from Hercules

[Leona Kingscholar] of Savanaclaw: Scar from The Lion King

[Malleus Draconia] of Diasomnia: Maleficent from The Sleeping Beauty

The story known thus far is this: 

“In this game, you take the role of a protagonist who has tumbled through a magic mirror known as the Mirror of Darkness. It brings you to the alternate world of Twisted Wonderland, where you find yourself enrolled in the prestigious magic training school, Night Raven College. There, its masked headmaster, Dire Crowley, offers you protection while you search for a way to get back home. To do so, you need the help of your fellow classmates. 

However, as talented and prodigious as they may be, the students waiting for you here are all uncooperative troublemakers! Will you ever be able to work with them and return to your original world? And just what secrets are these students hiding, who hold the souls of villains…?”

Long story short: 

You play as the MC who accidentally goes through a magic mirror that sends you to a magical new world (basically, you get isekai’d). You then end up enrolling in a school at the behest of the headmaster in order to protect you while trying to find a way to go back to your original world.
