Ida: Is This Something I Should Outrun Or Something I Should Stab? - Tumblr Posts
The Spider Prince gazed at the human woman with something the other Fae could not name, it almost looked loving, but such a thing was impossible.
After all, The Spider Prince was a creature that understood only hunger, though technically it had been born from Fae Royalty it was regarded by all as more Monster than True Fae. “I did not know you kept pets.” The Winter Knight, honestly doubted the mortal was actually a pet, the Prince no doubt lacked the capacity to keep such a thing without feasting on it but it held itself with an ease untypical of those worn down by the Spider’s Manor. ”Ah, Sir Knight, this woman is a dear guest of mine. I would not think it proper to call her a pet”
The Winter Knight snorted “I know what becomes of your “guests”, Spider, mayhaps she’d be better off as another Fae’s pet.”
The Spider Prince’s expression remained that cordial mask of civility it was so good at pretending at. But The Winter Knight could have sworn the entire atmosphere of the house had shifted to something not merely hungry but hostile.
Truly the creature was every bit the glutton the stories painted him as, if the mere suggestion of rescuing one out of however many victims, agitated him so.
The mortal looked between them with understated interest, the Knight found it strange, how little the mortal reacted to his presence, being called a pet or the subtle implication that she was in danger. There was no quaint ruffled sense of offense, no confusion or worry. She looked at him as though waiting for him to do something interesting, it was unnerving and he did not like it.
