Okay so using this to soundboard something someone posted awhile ago.

Someone made a post saying how if we (fanon) were going to give Tim Jason's backstory than we had to go all out. He was always destined to be a criminal. I mean he was halfway there with the stalking and gaslighting. Bruce tried his best, but he was doomed to be bad.' That was the post. [Basically the way that some writers and a good part of the fandom treats Jason. As if simply because of who he was he was destined to become Red Hood]

But add this to an AU (reverse Robin or otherwise) and suddenly you have these moments where Tim saw himself becoming evil in the future and promised he wouldn't become that, only to die and come back using the same weapon and hurting people the way he promised he wouldn't, and you have that cycle of doomed narrative. This was always doomed to happen sort of thing. By trying to avoid his future he created it sort of thing.

RedHood! Tim AU except he quits during the middle of the intense reveal showdown because Bart, Kon, and Cassie catch wind that he's back and what he's doing and say

And Tim's just like

"Shittt, ur right. Party's over guys I gotta go home and think about this".

Then they have a yj sleepover while the rest if the batfam are like, "what the fuck?!? Tim's actually back?!?! And he's evil? But he just quit being evil???! I have.. SO MANY QUESTIONS"
