If you answer this (especially if your answer is "other"), I'd love to hear a longer explanation of your specific ways of engaging + your own understanding of why in the replies or tags or w/e. would also like to know if there are things about the general concept of fandom that irritate you or which you enjoy and seek out. you're also free to inbox me about it if you prefer to remain anonymous. would also love to hear if you have identified any patterns in the things you tend to join fandoms for or (if you are someone who doesn't enjoy fandom) what puts you off.

♡ reblog ♡ i chose 2 or more its probably a fairly even split of shipping lore and character analysis which one gets me into any given fandom depends entirely on the fandom ie fnaf tma and undertale were more lore and maybe analysis less shipping while tf2 ace attorney and voltron were more shipping heavy since the first three have a lot more to theorize on but the second three are all pretty open about their story and world it also probably depends on if i got into a fandom because of the source material or fandom osmosis if i joined a fandom specifically because I saw fandom stuff I liked first then my interest is more based on whatever caught my eye first as opposed to joining a fandom because I like the source material where I might seek out something specific I want if that all makes sense?
