your big fat brain with this one… omg and i feel like bc he likes spicy food so much and he knows they don’t ask stupid questions so when management asks him if he wants to do it, he honestly doesn’t mind lmao.
and i’m so sure w bakugou especially canonly loving spicy food he would be able to handle them ALL and he would be able to handle his reactions when it’s spicy too. so like the first lot of wings he’s calmly answering questions about his career, being honest and polite but of course still his straightforward and blunt self. he puts so much thought into his answers too so even civilians that aren’t a usual fan of dynamight they still tune in because they respect his opinion and what he says. as people of all age ranges watching him to hear about his life as a hero, the mental health issues that are automatically locked onto the job and then overwhelming sense of pride he gets from the job. and then innocent questions like his hobbies and what he does in his spare time and katsuki is comfortable with it all literally just munching away on the wings with no struggle even mentioning “yeah i eat shit this spicy at home, this show is a breeze for me.” even will mention izuku’s episode how his eyes were already watering, nose running and downing milk on the second wing. “that idiot might be strong but holy shit does he have weak taste buds.”
and then when it’s like the second to last wing he can feel his tongue tingle with heat and usually he’d be okay with just that bottle on its own but the lead up of the spicy ones before also gives his cheeks a light red flush and he’s got his elbows up as he holds onto the chicken both sides. (he’s also the type to completely suck the soul out of a chicken wing that literally only the bone is left. at home he’s also the type to chew bones, some shit about making his teeth stronger or whatever) ANYWAY yeah he can kinda feel it with the second to last one and he’s trying not to show it but he’s kinda squinting with his bites and his foot is tapping on the ground. and the interviewer feels like it’s the right time to talk about you, at least it keeps dynamight’s mind off the feeling of his mouth on fire.
“i think it’s the right time to ask about your girlfriend, what’s it like being in a relationship with one of the biggest heroes in the world?”
and whilst the question was being asked he’s trying to take out bits of chicken in teeth with his tongue but the mention or just the thought of you makes a huffy laugh flood through him, his shoulders shaking a little.
“i guess you should be askin’ her that but her life is much more… normal than mine,” and he’s wiping his eyes a little now, still a smirk on his face, “so our schedules can clash but nothin’ we can’t handle. best thing that’s ever happened to me, gave my life some purpose, you know?”
and the interviewer doesn’t know, neither do the viewers. a girl giving a pro heroes life purpose? doesn’t the job already do that for you? and bakugou can tell that’s the next question so he’s already on it.
he chuckles loudly, the noise rumbling from his chest, “i know what you’re thinkin’,” he pulls chicken off the bone with his teeth, munches for a while and speaks when his mouth is clear, “as honest as i can be, sometimes this job feels like you’re livin’ for everyone else. riskin’ my life for the people, which of course is somethin’ i accept and isn’t inherently a bad thing. but it can make life feel very real, knowin’ i can die at anytime and that forces you to comes to terms that death is always possible. always seeing life flash past your eyes every time i’m in a battle. but y/n, my girlfriend, she makes me fear death. i want to live, i always want to return home so i can see her again. yeah… she makes life worth livin’.”
and maybe it’s a bit too deep for a hot wings episode, but then again any interview with good questions becomes a sentimental, respected interview with pro hero dynamight. it sounds needed and it makes sense. humanises him for the viewers who only see him as the stubborn loud hero on their tv screens or at the scene of destroyed homes with a villian in hands. he’s sorta wiping his eyes at the end of that and nobody knows if it’s because of you or the wings.
some light hearted questions are included too, especially to wrap it up at the end with bakugou tapping his foot rapidly like it will soothe the burn on the last wing, “fans were speculating how on brand it was for you to reveal your girlfriend in a ten second video on her tiktok account instead of the usual red carpet picture or instagram post. what made you decide to do that?”
bakugou shrugs, his eyes gleaming, wiping his hands with a napkin. thinking about you really takes his mind off the burn in his mouth. “we didn’t decide shit and she was never a fuckin’ secret anyway. she wanted to do the dumb video with me so i did and i never say no to her.” his eyes are focused but slightly glazed over. then he wipes his nose rather roughly tacking on, “and she’s gorgeous, make sure you’re all lookin’ at her with respect.”
