prom night 🎉

summary: your first kiss with jake after prom night hehe, fluff, requested! a/n: not sure how to feel about this one but hope yall enjoy!! written in honour of the 12th year formal that jake had to miss bc he came to korea 😞

“so, did you have fun back there?”

you can still hear the muffled sound of the pounding bass from where you are sitting at the edge of the school’s soccer field. you have no idea how your friends are still going so strong with the dancing because you chucked your heels the moment you exited that gym. 

“yeah, i did. how could i not with you by my side the whole time?” you turn to jake with a cheeky smile, your grin widening as a faint blush creeps its way up his neck at your words. he reaches out to take one of your hands in both of his, his thumb stroking the back of your hand out of habit. 

“do you remember that night after my soccer game? when we spent like two whole hours just talking there on the bleachers?” he asks suddenly, pointing at the bleachers with a nostalgic smile.

“of course i do! that’s the night you asked me out.” 

“it is, isn’t it?”

there’s a short pause as the both of you silently remember that night, before he turns to you with a shy, tentative smile on his face. “i really like you, y/n. like, really really.” 

somewhere at the back of your mind you’re giggling at how adorable he is, but at the moment you’re more focused on the funny flips that your heart is doing at the look in his eyes.

“jake… you know i really like you, too. thank you for tonight.”

“y/n…”  

his hands move to gently cradle either side of your face. he takes a short moment to admire the way you look under the faint floodlights, before—

“can i kiss you?” 

you nod, your eyes never leaving his. he inches forward carefully and suddenly - his lips are on yours.

you’re momentarily overwhelmed by how soft his lips are before you start kissing him back, your lips moving against his slowly as he hums softly. he slides his hand down to rest on your waist. your noses bump as you tilt your head for a better angle, and the tension melts slightly as the both of you break into a giggle.  

“what if security catches us?” you ask, looking around to make sure you’re the only two there. 

“then let them.” jake gently guides your face back to face him again, leaning forward for another kiss.
