author’s note. this one is very depressing. keep in mind that these characters are aged up as to make it less depressing lol. a more serious topic then my previous one so yeah.

warnings. cursing, references to suicide, mentions of cheating, use of y/n, bad ending, second person.

mentions. @adorinjae @adorefavv @chessbox @yachinosworld

“why are the lights off..” he walked through the hallway, carelessly depositing his coat and keys onto the floor. “y/n! you there?”

he looked at the time on the big clock that hung above the dining table. where could you be at this time? he kissed his teeth. “shit, let me call her.”

you weren’t usually the type to go out to those random parties but as of late, it became routine for both of you to not see each other until late or even days at a time. ever since, he started his new project that he insisted should remain private, his focus was entirely determined on the outcome of his new work but this also drew a thick, impenetrable barrier between him and his girlfriend .

of course, the pair still had the same mutual love for each other but it wasn’t apparent to you especially because you didn’t know how to function by herself at such a rocky time like this- in a new environment, with a new job and bills stacking up.

the more miles thought about it, the angrier he got. what business did a young, vulnerable woman have being outside at such late hours? in such a dangerous city? with great annoyance, he punched your digits into his mobile, preparing to berate you for being so careless with yourself. the harsh ringing of his phone settled within the walls as the vibrations went on.

a click. “hello?”

“hello?” soft cries could be heard on the other side of the phone. his heart dropped, his previously frustrated countenance melted, moulding itself into something of fret. “wait, what happened?”

the crying continued.

“yo! talk to me! what happened, my love?”

“i fucking hate you, miles.” what followed was something long and incoherent.

“hold on, slow down.. who’s you talking to?” his eyebrows knitted themselves together, perplexed by the sudden commotion.

“you are the worst thing that has ever happened to me, miles.” you sniffed. “do you think that i am fucking stupid. do you think that i didn’t see you making out with that other girl?”

“wait, i can ex-“

“explain what, miles? you didn’t realise that you were in public so you thought no one would notice? well, i did.”

“baby, tell me where you are. i’m coming to you. we’ll talk about this in person, please.” miles began pacing the room, frantically searching for his motorcycle keys.

“it doesn’t matter where i am. why don’t you ask the same question to that other girl- i’m sure she’ll gladly tell you where she is!” the line went silent for the next few seconds.

miles picked up his keys off of the ground. “baby, i promise we’ll figure this out, ok, just let me know your location.”

you scoffed. “i don’t think you realise how serious this is. you never do. you’re too focused on your career to realise that i’m even here!”

i gave you my life, you know i have nothing here and i flew out just for you. and them.” you ran a hand down your face as tears stained your shirt.

“where is this even coming from, y/n?” miles’ voice was slightly raised and his eyes were squeezed shut. he thought that he gave you all you needed: a roof, a few friends that he met in the business and most importantly, a partner who provided. there was just one thing missing- love.

“you don’t deserve this.” your voice faded into the background. “and i don’t deserve this..”

“what do you mean i don’t deserve a relationship? who the fuck gave you the rights to make those decisions-“

“you will never see me again. i will never see you, or anyone, again.”

silence stood between the line. “hold on, what do you mean by that?”

a wail erupted from your throat. you continued like this until you felt that you could speak again. “i can’t live like this, miles. it doesn’t make sense to carry on in this world when i’m not even equipped to do so.”

when you first met him, there was this peace that you hadn’t felt in a long time which would always reside in you. he was your get-away from all the hardships that you faced back in your old house. but now it was like he was only interested in the idea of you, rather than you actual being. like before, you felt both useless and used all at the same time and it finally pushed you over the edge.

you exhaled sharply and spoke. “i’m at the place where we first met. i want my last memory to be where i was the happiest.”

miles’ usually hooded eyes widened in realisation. “wait, i know where you are!” and before long, the sound of revving could be heard throughout the long and busy road.

“stay on the phone, y/n!” no response. “you hear me?! don’t do this shit, amor, please.”

“i have to..” you mumbled this repeatedly, your voice becoming hoarse.

“i’m sorry, y/n, i fucked up. i’ll do better, just stop this!”

“no. you can’t always get what you want.”

“i’m already on the main road. please ma, i’ll never forgive myself..”

“goodbye miles.”

abruptly, he ended the call. “fuck..”

“911, what’s your emergency?”

the words didn’t seem to want to leave his mouth. his breathing became erratic. “uh, my girl she- she’s trying to uh- oh shit-!“

“sir, what’s your location?”

the sound of a truck slipped into ear length and then it collided into miles’ vehicle as violently as possible. his breathing became laboured and his vision went black.

“sir? sir? hello? i’m dispatching emergency services to your location.”
