In Terms Of Finding Resources Or Art You Can Look At - Tumblr Posts
Uh, how did you learn to draw? Are you self taught? Do you take art classes? I'm trying to learn but i just can't find my good resources and it's all going over my head
I’m entirely self taught in this department. I had begun to draw as a hobby from a very young age, and that has sorta progressed over the years to what it is now. ^^
Some major things that influenced my drawings were the shows i was into while growing up. But the best advice i can give you is to practice a lot, no matter how hard it may seem like. When you pick up a new activity, try to think of how good you’re going to be at it in about a year, and how you’ll gradually improve even more in another year after that and so on. So i suggest trying to experiment with a whole bunch of things starting now, so you’ll be able to start improving in those. (like anatomy, poses, coloring, landscapes/backgrounds etc etc)
And my advice in terms of having a art style of your own is that, first of all, i don’t have a very consistent art style myself. I suffer from its inconsistency as well but that’s alright! XD Try to look for certain details you like from the artists you follow , and try to incorporate them into your way of drawing and make it work together. (But hey! Don’t blatantly full on COPY their works and art styles! Not cool!)
And Lastly, I think you should draw things that make you happy. A lot of the times i showed improvement in my art was because i was obsessed with a show and/or some characters, and i would draw them almost every time i decided to draw anything. For example, Obikaka/Naruto helped me a lot in wanting to draw two or more characters interacting with one another. It even helped influence my art style too! ((My obsession feelings are crazy tbh-))
That’s all the advice i could conjure up at the moment, hopefully this helps! ^^
