This has happened to me. I was in love with a guy all through high school, but he was in love with someone else. He was always in the back of my mind, though, even after we graduated and went our separate ways. We’ve reconnected since, but only after I had married the love of my life. He’s still single to this day. What’s weird is he’s very similar to my husband... Shy, reserved, nice af but has a hard time opening up, nerdy, handsome, etc. I guess I have a type. Makes me wonder if, in an alternate universe, I’m married to him instead.
