John Hopkins University - Tumblr Posts

In a new paper, a team of philosophers and psychologists at Johns Hopkins University claims to have finally settled an ancient debate: whether you can actually hear the sound of silence.
In a mind-bending conclusion, they found that you absolutely can.

John Hopkins University is currently letting students perform horrific experiments on innocent barn owls. The details are shocking and terrible, including putting electrodes into their brain while they are awake, then forcing them to watch flashing lights for 12 hours at a time. It’s supposedly to help understand ADHD from what I’ve gathered. They hold the owls eyes open forcibly and they are killed at the end of the experiment. If anyone has any resources or ways to spread this information, please let me know and I’ll add them to the post. Although a recent PETA advertisement (I know, it’s PETA, but apparently they aren’t making it up this time) has brought some light to this, it needs to be heard louder. If you’re going to research this know it is deeply disturbing and to me, heartbreaking. Thank you for reading this, please keep being kind and even if it’s small, protect what you can, and love what you can. Don’t be like them.

The books in my arms seemed to lift me into the air, and I was walking, gliding, floating among the great scholars and thinkers of history, elevated and one with all. I am here.
