I feel like one of the best ways to describe Hades/Kanon to begin with is that, both parties are trying to manipulate one another, like crazy. Even though they aren't on equal grounds, by any sense of the word (Kanon doesn't believe [or is unable to comprehend] nor learns the fact that the hot goth guy, he has been having flings with, truly is what he says.
