The fall chapter 1
In kerttdam it was now reaching the end of the colder times where it would reach temperatures of negatives now it was only reaching around 1-8 degrees, while still cold it was bearable, and you could walk without a coat and not being getting frostbite and this allowed inej back out of the slat for the first time in weeks with you , you had been training with inej to become the next spider for brekker as inej was leavening to become the pirate queen and all the past spiders were too slow , too loud , too easy to spot they weren't good enough and this had led to many of them dead , injured , caught , you had spotted Kaz's eyes after you had managed to steal a stopwatch from his pocket ,you had been running from the stand watch when you had ran into him you hand as slid into his pocket and touched the chain and your mind could only think of one thing to do take it ...so you did. You had gotten down 2 miles before the wraith had jumped you and you had a the end of a cane on your throat then the next minute you were offered a job working for Kaz.
You and inej both were covered in warm clothes, but they were thin enough to more with easily ,inej was teaching how you could jump from building to building without falling and how to quickly get down from the roof tops without falling and without cutting your skin off on the way down something inej knew loads about as she had experienced it for years and her body had the scars to prove it.
You both had been practices since 7am without issue the current time was 5pm and you were both running across the roof tops from the standwatch inej was graceful and was standing on the ledge of Kaz's office with her hand reaching out to you to help you in unfortunaly you miscalculated your jump and was being ripped up by the wall and drainpipes as you fell as soon as your body hit the ground you heard the soft pat of inejs feet hitting the ground and helping you up with Jespers help who had seen you very ungraceful fall .
“Well loves that is one way to get down although I do not think inej recommends it “Hes said with a joking hint in his voice but right then you did not want to joke you were in so much pain. The two of them helped you into Kaz's office where it was empty and quiet.
While Jesper went to find Nina inej stayed with you, you groaned out in pain as you were laid down onto a bed that was in a side room from the office, the room was very bare and empty it had a bed in the centre of the room with a Martise that was so old it was disintegrating , there was a makeshift desk at the edge of the room that had a reading light on it , some books and some paper work. you were slightly zoned out as you scanned your surroundings, you noticed the floorboards shift under the weight of someone walking into the room.
Both Nina and Jesper had entered the room and you noticed Nina's face drop as she scanned your wounds your white shirt was not a light red colour around your sides, your back and your arms were your skin and been destroyed on the way down on your fall.
Nina told you to remove your shirt so she could assess your wounds fully and that is when you heard the voice “what's on earth is going on here “
So here you were shirtless, hurt, on Kaz's bed, in Kaz's room with inej , Jesper and Nina with Kaz walking in on you.
