Linktober Day 2
Temple
Shorter one this time since this almost didn't get written today through a combination of people not allowing me to save the original drabble that was already finished. *Laments*
The contrast between Wilde’s Hyrule was always something of a surprise.
The land felt untamed and overgrown, life stubbornly clinging to every crack and crevice of the stones beneath and your feet, impossibly old and free even in a place like this.
There was much lost the unforgiving flow of time and the cyclical, sisyphean wheel of fate, which was why you couldn’t stop the sharp inhale that escaped you as you recognized the pattern along the old, weathered bricks, even among the ability of many aspects of Hyrule to stand immortalized over the course of much ruin, Wild tilted his head, “Do you recognize this place?”
You laughed, breathy with shock as you gently ran your fingers along the vines, Wild’s grin softening with fondness at your excitement, “This is from Sky’s Era! Remember the Sealed Temple?”
Sky shared your bewilderment, as he recognized the plants running along the groves of the old, almost fully weathered down stone, “How did this survive up until now?”
The Champion shrugged, “The same way the Temple of Time always does I suppose?”
“That doesn’t count,” cut in Twilight, shaking his head with an amused glint in his eye, “Pretty sure yours is in better shape than mine or Warriors’ combined.”
Gently, you paused over the old, discolored remains of the crystal Sun had sealed herself in. Thoughtfully allowing the comfortable bickering of your boys to wash over you like the rain outside, privately wondering what else could have survived.
