“You’re hungry.” You simply stated. Your vampire boyfriend stared back at you, his nostrils flaring and his eyes a deep crimson red. “No, I’m not.” His voice was strained and judging by the number of wine bottles opened (two tall ones), he’s been drowning his hunger with alcohols. 

“Stop lying.” You closed the door behind you and dropped your bag off at the sofa. Walking towards him, he averted his gaze, trying to protect his last bit of sanity. You knew by his fidgeting that he was dying to jump at you, but he was restraining himself with all the willpower he had. “This wine isn’t going to help.” You bluntly chided and you picked up the glass in his hands, downing it so he doesn’t drink any more. He gaped at you, and in a flash he whisked you off into bed. 

“You’re making it hard for me. I’m starving.” He ran a hand on his face, leaving you lying on the bed. You inched the sleeve of your woollen sweater down and his eyes zoned in on the juncture of you neck and shoulder. “Then drink.” The next thing you knew, his lips were on your neck and you winced when his fangs pierced through you. 

The wine probably didn’t help things out because you were rather giddy a few seconds in. He interlocked his fingers with yours and with whatever energy you had you gripped his hand. You felt shivers travel down your spine and your eyes fluttered close, the effects taking it’s toll. Your grip weakened but the warmth radiating from his palm gave you some form of comfort. He pulled away, and immediately licked your puncture wounds clean, his saliva healing his fang marks. 

“Stay with me.” He embraced you as he adjusted himself so that he was spooning you. You cling onto him for warmth and he cupped the back of your head. “Why do you always let me do this? You should have left when you had the chance.” He stroked your hair and what you said made his heart swell. 

“I...love you.”
