Laura X Travis - Tumblr Posts
At first I didn't want to say my opinion about the Travis X Laura ship but here I am...
At the beginning I have to say that I'm neutral about this ship, I don't personally ship it or hate it but I get why people hate it and I also get why people ship it. Yes a young woman that is an adult for a short time and an fully grown up (some people might also add old) man that could be her dad... And Laura has a boyfriend. But on the other side two adults with great dynamic. And a ship liked by the actors.
I believe some people (specially girls and young adult women) don't exactly ship Laura and Travis but Travis and themselves. I know it might seems stupid but a lot of people actually does this. They wish they were on her place, they wish they had these interactions with him instead of Laura... And the easiest way to ’get closer‘ to that fictional character is through a character that is similar to the them and has some interactions with the character. I'm not here to judge.
But the main thing is - it's all a fiction. It might be wrong but I saw some people non-ironically wishing death to people that ship it. Two fictional characters. Like does the ship bother you so much? People have so many problematic ships and I don't think they gonna stop shipping it just because of your hate comment. But I'm not saying the ship is ok or that death threats are ok. But I don't surf around the internet all day and write that people should kill themselves because they ship something I don't like... I hope you get the point.
Also kinda funny (not really so funny) fact that the most used argument people have against the Laura X Travis ship is their age difference. Not the fact he kept her and her boyfriend locked in prison for months. Or that in some parts of the game they kill each other... It's their age.
Please don't be mad at me for this, I'm trying to be neutral about this and understand both sides because in my opinion BOTH sides are right in something and there's no winner in this argument.
(P.S. please excuse my mistakes and English, I don't remember if I ever wrote something this long outside a school. :D)
