I was rereading an older story and it just hit me smack in the face how, during season 1, I genuinely believed Magnus and Isabelle would become friends.

It felt like simple math - six main characters, three endgame ships, four of them already paired up as best friends (Clary&Simon, Alec&Jace). It made sense with how perfectly contained the main six were that Isabelle and Magnus would come to be close friends.

And not just that. Both fashionable, with that same confident aura. The moment Magnus decided to give Isabelle the necklace for good, I figured “Oh, they’re gonna bond”. After all, Isabelle is also the sister of Magnus’ endgame.

It… really figured for me? It was like a done deal. But that was before I realized this show only cared about romantic relationships and not platonic ones. Silly me.

…This show had such great characters and so much wasted potential, just thinking about it kills me a little bit…
