Like No Other Show Has Made Me Feel Yhe Way My Mister Has - Tumblr Posts
Watching My Mister, and absolutely sobbing at the way they display humanity, people, and love in the show.
It’s about food and love. It’s about the difference one person’s love and kindness can make. It’s about learning to accept the support of your community. It’s about realising that burning yourself to keep others warm and comfortable hurts not only you but also them because they love and you they don’t want you to burn. It’s about realising that it’s okay to ask for help, that it’s okay to be selfish when it comes to your needs. It’s about knowing that even if you have just one person seeing you and accepting you for all you are, it is more than enough. It’s about not being able to tolerate insults to your loved ones: about being driven to rage if someone so much as touches a hair on their head. It’s about finding familiarity and comfort and warmth in someone’s daily routines: their footsteps, their breath, them moving around and living their day. It’s about holding onto a love that once kept you warm even if it leaves you stranding in the bitter cold. It’s about knowing that no matter who you are, how broken you think you are, the world will be there, offering its sweet solace.
People are inherently good here. They may choose to do bad things, but ultimately, most of them just want to do something good, be good. And there is something so tender about portraying people like that.
Love is stored in objects. Love is stored in the food you share with them. Love is stored in knowing that your loved one has eaten well. Love is stored in the subway. Love is stored in knowing.
Love is stored in people.
