Amazing points, I totally agree! I would like to add that during the phone conversation with Charlie, when heaven is mentioned he kind of winces/cringes and looks at their family photo. I think he knows Lilith is in Heaven and that there is more to it but Charlie is not involved in whatever it is so he is having to keep that from her. I think the reason he doesnβt mention Lilith is because he is avoiding the subject altogether, he is not the type to enjoy lying to his daughter so I think rather than speaking on it he just allows Charlie to think whatever she thinks (which is that her mother is away on important business) and he just neither confirms nor denies that. This may add to why he kind of avoided Charlie and shut himself away, maybe he was afraid of Charlie having more questions as the years spanned on with no sign or word from Lilith and he was afraid that he may one day have to face those questions and be put in a position where he either comes clean (something that may put Charlie in danger?) or he has to straight up lie to her face which if he does she will eventually find out about and this will damage the trust between them.

Hear me out yeah? Imma give my reasons pretty bluntly so sorry for that
-First of all, the most obvious point. Viv has said multiple times that they are happily in love.
-Second of all, he still wears his wedding ring.
-third of all, Iβve been informed people think this because he never mentioned her. But like??? Bro is obviously not good at addressing problems. Heβs avoiding his depression with hobbies (the ducks), he tries to avoid answering when Charlie asked what he thought about the hotel, and the whole song with alastor is him trying to show off and win Charlie over rather then just TALKING to her.
-itβs really not out of character for him to try and avoid a painful subject. Such as his wife, whom he loves dearly, going missing.
-also he still has a bunch of pictures with her in his work room. And since heβs clearly the type to AVOID upsetting things, I donβt think he would keep them if they divorced.
In conclusion, I donβt think theyβre split. Thank you for coming to my ted talk
