They could not say they knew of oracles  (  at least, in this sense  ).  Prophecy spoken through a mortals mouth, a message from the gods.  It was not as if Enkidu did not know of gods.  A silly thought  ---  they were divine.  But, before them stood a demigod who knew such things.  One who regularly practiced communing with the gods  (  a god  ??  they were still unsure  )  for the “benefit” of humanity.  ❝  It does not bother you, speaking for them  ??  ❞

‘is your hair naturally green?’ the question had tumbled out of rhys’ mouth before he could stop it. he wasn’t no- rmally one to speak up at all, especially towards a stra- nger. but their presence was… different. the witch could tell, even now. something about them felt off, and he had to know. ‘sorry,’ he said finally, offering a disarming smile. ‘i don’t see any roots. either you’re really good at dyeing it, or it’s… natural.’

Curious sun-streaked forest turns on the other, tilt to the head.  A study paired with a hum.  Absentmindedly  (  a brush of clay  )  fingers play with strands of grass.  ❝  It is natural, yes.  There is no need to apologize.  ❞  Dash of magic speaking to them  ---  a presence easily felt.  Enkidu knew of magics  (  a being forged of such, from an age long past  ).  Twisting cascade of green round earthen hands; a gentle smile.  ❝  I would never dye it.  ❞

‘jesus– you… you’re not bleeding?’

just when lara thought things couldn’t get weirder. she should’ve known better. thoughts like that just invited the weirdness in. she approached the other carefully, making sure their enemies (her enemies? she wasn’t sure who’s side this one was on) were down before she knelt and set down her bow. ‘you got shot, didn’t you?’ she asked, reaching around her pack for bandages. there would be time for intr- oductions later. ‘where was it? even if it nicked you, it could get an infection, or…’

Soft laughter at the other’s tone  (  paired, partial smile  ---  they did try not to be so obvious, but there was humor in it  ).  Gaze watching her approach; calculated.  Enkidu had seen combat before  ---  golden smile painting the edges of their memory  ---  this was no challenge.  Then again,  what might did a mere human stand against the chains of heaven  ??  divine through and through.  Those who sought to destroy taken care of.  ❝  I am fine, you should patch up yourself  ---  are you alright  ??  ❞
