It has always been the eight of you. Since your childhood you were inseparable. A bond was created whose strength and depth was unknown to most. A phase, everybody thought, that was going to fade away the older you would get. The longing for independence was supposed to fill your minds and draw you apart from each other. A prediction that since this day has not occurred.

Namjoon, the born alpha, who one day will take over his mother’s pack and be the leader everyone imagined him to be. He has shown his ability to take care of others, since a young age. Like that time in Taehyung’s first year of elementary school. He never told the others about the bullies at school who made is life a living hell simply because he had a different approach to most tasks. They declared him as weird and treated him like an outsider.

The leader picked up on his change in behaviour quickly, noticing that the six-year-old started speaking less and only answering questions that were specifically direct at him. A one-eighty to his usual happy and chattery personality. He picked the younger boy up from school the next day and walked in on a scene that made his blood run cold. Three boys were standing above Tae, the little wolf covering on the floor, his painting crushed under the tallest foot.

A growl left the alpha and before Namjoon knew what had happened, he had shifted for the first time. Four paws running across the school grounds scaring of the three kids, that knew they didn’t stand a chance against the son of the cities pack alpha. It was the first time Namjoon had to stand up for one of his members and seeing Taehyung on the floor in front of him, tears glistening on his round cheeks and admiration shining in his eyes as he petted the brown wolf in front of him, he knew, he would do anything to keep his pack safe.

Seokjin, as the medic of the group, was an important asset. Always patched up the maknae line when they were rough housing as you were all growing into your hierarchical roles and pheromones were going wild. Or that one time an older she-wolf had pushed you to the ground during Junior High, saying you were too young to play with them. Quickly you had gotten up and pulled on her hair, which resulted in her running her nails over your face and leaving scratches on your cheek and chin. Her teacher broke up the fight and you were both send home.

After the scolding of your parents, Jin was called over and addressed your wounds. Nothing major had to be done and at the and you and the beta fell asleep watching a movie in your living room. Your faced buried in his neck, in haling the familiar mixture between wood and rice, which had always been able to calm you down.

Yoongi, who always napped in the corner during kindergarten and growled at anyone who annoyed him. But he was always more bark than bit. Unless the situation called for it of course. In elementary he shifted his nap place beneath the tree on the playgrounds. Enjoying the shade as a brise tousled his dark brown fur. Jungkook loved to sneak up on the elder and pull his ears, then quickly escape his nip and giggling while Yoongi chased him around the tree. Seokjin calling from the seesaw that he would not patch up any injuries. A smile bright on his face.

Hoseok, the glue of your group, as the son of your pack’s master of fight he was born with an amount of agility and skill like none of you. Nobody believed that the little sunshine boy could arise to the role assign but whenever the necessity arouse Hobi proved to everyone what a skilled fighter and wolf he was and that he was able to protect his pack.

You remember it clearly, that day Jimin and you went for a run. It had only been a few weeks since the both of you turned for the first time, so walking on for legs was still a hurdle to overcome. You weren’t allowed to leave the grounds of your pack; it was too dangerous considering that you still couldn’t protect yourself in this form. But you didn’t care, choosing to enjoy the freedom you had and testing your limits in this new form.

Unaware of the presence watching you, analysing your movements and swiftly deciding, that you both were an easy match. One second you were pulling on Jimin’s tail, messing with the older and the next a vicious growl came from behind you. Jimin immediately stood between you and the rouge, trying to shield his omega from harms way. One look at the other wolf showed that he was older, probably in his thirties or forties, and as strong as Jimin was or a seventeen-year-old, you both were aware of the fact, that he didn’t stand a chance against the intruder. You needed help. The second your howled, was the second the rouge decided to attack. He new he didn’t have much time and had to get rid of you fast. He crashed into Jimin’s body, their forms rolling around on the ground. The white fur of your pack member a stark contrast to your surroundings and the brown fur of the attacking wolf.

A yelp from Jimin is what caused you to spring into action. Blood was dripping down his left shoulder. You tried to let out a terrifying growl but even to your ears it sounded pathetic. It was enough to get the wanted attention though. The rough turned his attentiveness to you, baring his teeth which were covered in Jimin’s blood. You stood your ground, willing to do whatever it took to protect your pack member. His slow steps rapidly changed into a sprint and you reciprocated the action. But before you could meet, Hoseok jumped out of the bushes surrounding you, catching the wolf mid-air and forcing him to the ground.

It wasn’t much of a fight. Hoseok was clearly stronger and more skilled than the intruder. Quickly he brought the enemy on his back and snaped his neck with his teeth. Letting go of the body, he turned around and scanned the situation. It was clear that Jimin need immediate attention, so he ran over to the younger wolf. You stood frozen in place, staring at the dead animal, whose eyes were open and facing you. You hadn’t noticed when the others arrived and Seokjin tending to Jimin’s wound. Jumping slightly when Hobi pressed his head into your neck, startling you.

You stared into his eyes. Apart of both of you feared that you would be scared of him after having seen him murder someone. Taking a life so easily. But the look in his eyes showed nothing but love and protectiveness. A silent massage, that he always would protect you and the pack, whatever it may cost.

Jimin, beauty and elegance personified in one little being. Form a young age he was always well spoken and able to swoon anybody with his silver tongue and remarkable looks. Especially in Senior high, those looks brough a lot of insecurities with them and put a lot of pressure on Jimin mentally. He would skip out on meals and train whenever he could. Being a part of the dance team with Hoseok, his body was always on display for others to judge. A fact which brought a lot of fear and dark thoughts.

It was Yoongi who realised it first. The both of them were always bickered like an old married couple but cared for each other deeply. When he realised what Jimin was doing he immediately went to Jin and Namjoon. The four of them had a long talk which involved a lot of shouting and accusations. Until Jimin broke down crying. The walls he had built came trembling down and he admitted to the negative thoughts clouding his mind. That night you set up a nest for you and the alpha. Cuddling him all night long, while whispering uplifting words of affection into his hair.

Taehyung, the artist with a smile that could dazzle the sun. His talent for remembering paths and nature facts has helped your group out of a lot of scary situations and gets acknowledge often in your pack. Particularly, when the alphas and betas went out for a hunt, Taeyhung’s attended was often requested alongside Namjoon’s and Hoseok’s to insure the safe and swift return of everyone.

Furthermore, he loved to help out in the nearby day care. Playing with the kids and reading them stories took up a big part of his free time, especially during holidays. He often forced Jimin to go with him, so he could teach them a new choreography. It always ended with Jimin going home more exhausted than he is after dance practise.

Jungkook, brute strength embodied in a boy with a heart of gold. Always ready to stir up trouble, especially with Tae or Jin, and loves to be babied my everyone. He never fails to be responsible and attentive for the ones he loves though. Like that time, you caught a cold during winter break and only the maknae line was home. The hyungs had to attend a pack meeting with Namjoon’s mother out of town.

Jungkook had cooked you soup everyday and made sure you took your medicine at the right moments. He called Jin multiple times during those four days to make sure he did everything right. Late at night he would crawl into bed with you and provide you with his body heat. His alpha on high alert to make sure his omega was comfortable and protected while she rested.

Y/N, the only omega of the group, but still a force to be reckoned with. As the only girl in the group, you know how to keep the young wolfs in check. Never letting them get out of line. Whacking them over the back of their heads whenever the situations called for it, which was often. Although you are able to stand up for yourself, your omega tendencies shine through whenever you are with the boys. Loving to be pampered and cared for by them. Physical affection playing a huge part in your relationship. A language all of you learn to read and communicate with.

Getting off form a stressful day at school, you would ride the bus past your stop and go over to one of their houses. Laying in Namjoons bed while he reads a book about pack laws and traditions or you would back hug Seokjin while he prepared something to eat for everyone. Calling the others over, so the eight of you could watch a movie or play a board game. You firmly planted on Hoseok’s lap, enjoying the way he played with your hair and getting fed popcorn by Taehyung.

In public you were the strong and independent omega your parents raised you to be, but with them you were able to relax and let them take control. Letting them indulge in their providing nature. Something you were very grateful for. Every day.

This were the eight little troublemakers whose love for each other is unheard of. A weird mixture of personalities. Where one goes the other seven follow. 32 pairs of paws, seven tails and one heartbeat.

Linked by fate

Tonight at 9pm CET the next part of linked by fate will be postet. I hope you’ll like it. Comments are always appreciated. Here’s a sneak peak:

Four-year-old Kim Seokjin was happily painting on the floor, when the kid next to him accidently spilled his apple juice. A shrieked left the boy as he witnessed the fluid ruining his stick figures. The boy’s eye next to him got big and he stumbled over an apology. Desperately trying to safe the picture Namjoon squished the juice box beneath his feet. Droplets landed on Jin’s face, causing the elder to frown at the pack alpha’s kid.

A shrill laughter arouse from across the room. Jung Hoseok holding his belly, whist falling of a chair. Unfortunately, Seokjin didn’t find the humour in the situation. Right as he was about to shove the boy next to him for ruining his hard work, a pale hand holding a baby wipe appeared between them. Min Yoongi, the quite boy who always napped in the pillow corner and growled at anyone that came with in a three-foot radius of him, stood there. After a moment he basically shoved the object in Jin’s face, making it obvious what he had intended it for.

The dispute died down rather quickly and the three guys started building Lego together, the ruined drawing long forgotten. And it didn’t take long when a curious looking boy glanced over Yoongi’s shoulder. Biting his bottom lip nervously he tried to think of a way to ask them to join, but Seokjin saved him the trouble. As soon as he spotted the Hobi, he greeted him with a friendly simile and asked him to help build the kitchen of the house.

That’s how the four boys met and how their friendship started, every day from then on day played together. Creating a strong bond, that everyone smiled at. They would draw, built, and play together. Yoongi still preferred to use this time to nap, but instead of the pillows he used on of their laps for comfort.

A year later, the next group of young wolfs joined the kindergarten class. All of them were assigned one member from the older class to guide them through the year and help them with any problem that might occur.

Yours was Seokjin, the boy greeted you with a dazzling smile when both of your names were called and promised to take good care of you. He immediately grabbed you hand and ordered you to sit next to him for the rest of the year. Taking his role as your guide very seriously. Taehyung was given Yoongi, the elder wearing a prominent scowl when he realised how talk active the younger boy was. When they joined your table, the boy greeted everyone with a hug, asking a million questions.

Next was Namjoon who got introduced to Jeon Jungkook. The new kindergartener looked at the alpha with big, sparkling eyes. Knowing Namjoon’s position in your pack and not believing the honour, that he would be his guid. When they sat down next to Yoongi, Jungkook let out a whispered greeting staring at his fidgeting hands for the rest of the introduction.

Lastly, Hoseok came over with his companion, Park Jimin, a little boy with round cheeks and happy eyes trailing behind him. They completed your table.

The eight of you slowly started a conversation. In the beginning it was mainly about the routine at the kindergarten. What kind of tasks you would have to complete, such as helping cleaning the dishes after sneak time or always tidying up after yourselves. Gradually the conversation shifted to likes and dislikes. Jokes were made and compliments distributed. Taehyung puling on your pig tails and stating he loved them. Resulting in your offering too give him two with the headbands kept in the room for beauty sessions. This ensued Hobi getting up and wanting the same treatment. Because of his lack of hair length, he got a little sprout at the top of his head. A hairstyle he kept until the end of the day and proudly presented his mother and older sister at home.

The rest of the year was a mixture of happy, adventures and adorable memories. The eight of you did everything together. From Jungkook showing amazing drawing skills and Tae demanding he teach him, to Yoongi sleeping whenever possible and you curling up into his backside. Rubbing your face into his shirt until he would turn around and scratch your head like you wanted him to. Sometimes it was hard to believe that you were a wolf and not a kitten.

When Winter came, Yoongi and Jimin would snuggle up beneath a blanket and watch the rest of you play outside in the snow. A snowball fight would occur, and the air would be filled with giggles. Soon you would be the first to run back inside, as an omega you where naturally colder than the rest, especially the alphas. The two boys would immediately situate you between them. Wrapping you up in their arms, your head positioned on Yoongi’s shoulder as Jimin held your hand in his. Smiling at the remaining boys outside. Giggling, when Jungkook tackled Seokjin to the ground and Namjoon held onto Hobi so he couldn’t help his teammate.

When the caretakers called everyone inside and distributed hot chocolate, all of you sat next to each other. Listening attentively as Mr. Hofer told you a story about Christmas wonders. Bellies full of the warm beverage and minds at ease, you easily fell asleep in a happy pile, exhausted from the day’s events.

Winter left and spring warmed up your days. Expeditions were started. The entire kindergarten walked hand in hand into the woods every Wednesday. No matter the weather; true wolfs could stand the rain. You would collect sticks for a fire and learn about nature. What mushrooms and berries to eat and which not to. It was a bit early to study those things and it will be on the schedule for Junior High classes again, to ensure you would manifest the knowledge into your brain. But wolfs believed that it was necessary to get to know the forest from a young age. You were part animal, your instincts had to be refined and improved early on. While wolfs naturally knew what thing not to eat, it helps if the brain actually had scientific facts about the danger of certain food.

Tae always exceled at these expeditions. Without fail he remember every fact about plants, berries, etcetera. The caretakers taught it; Tae knew it. It was a bit of a surprise. Normally it was difficult to keep Taehyung’s attention and he would seldom remember what was said during “class”. But as soon as they were surrounded by green it was like a switch clicked in his brain and suddenly, he became a model student.

The year ended earlier than any of you would have liked. Seokjin, Yoongi, Hoseok and Namjoon transferred to Elementary, while the rest of you were stuck in kindergarten for another year. But you promised each other to have play dates as often as possible and a year later, you and the three boys followed. It became clear during that year, in which you had seen each other almost every day, that your bond was stronger than anybody had thought.

It was a serious of coincidences which brought you together: from Namjoon spilling his apple juice to the paring on introduction day. Nobody had foreseen the relationship that would form from a kindergarten connection. The question was would it be strong enough when the obstacles of life came your way? Would developments coming with age drift you apart?

That were questions the eight kids didn’t ask themselves when they meet up the first day of summer break. They loved and teased each other, like they were meant to.

A/N: Hey, guys. I hope you are going to like this chapter. I was thinking about creating little mood boards, so you have an overview of their fur colour, etcetera. Let me know what you think about that. -Ally

It was in elementary when your animal instincts slowly started to make their appearances. While the position a wolf had was clear from birth, their natural behaviours didn’t start to show until later into their upbringings. Unhurriedly the process begins during childhood and steadily takes over more of their senses. The stronger instincts like the alpha’s power to force others to follow any of their command or heats and ruts, didn’t begin until the late teenage years. To ensure the safety of everyone and the capability for beta and omega parents to raise alpha children.

Another feature that slowly starts is the ability to turn into your wolf form. Namjoon was the first of our pack to shift. The calling to protect his younger to strong. It took over his body and made him show his true power as the pack alpha he was born to be. His parents were immensely proud, thankful that he wasn’t a late shifter. Wolfs that didn’t turn before their fourteenth birthday were often frowned upon and seen as a lacking member of the clan.

Next in line was Hobi. He had always had a strong connection to his basic instincts. Having been trained to fight from a young age and coming from a strong lineage of worriers, nobody was surprise that he shifted shortly after he turned nine. Since than he often favoured to walk around in is furred form. It felt more like himself, is what he said whenever someone asked.

Jungkook shift was a surprise to everyone. It was rare for someone, who didn’t come from a strong blood line to turn before their tenth birthday but like always the golden boy defeated any standards and turned on his eight birthday. All of you had gathered in his small living room. With his parents both being omegas they weren’t able to afford much. Most jobs, especially the ones who help authority, where given to alphas or betas. Omegas were regarded as to much of a push over to stand their ground when needed. That lead to them having a smaller income than the other to wolf species. But disregarding the financial consequences and the fact they wouldn’t be able to have a child with each other, they stayed together; their love too strong to break. Considering the impossibility of them having a child together, Jungkook knew from a young age, that he was adopted. A fact that never bothered him. Something his parents were eternally grateful for.

His mother brought in the cake and set it down in front of the little boy. Everyone around him was singing, while he closed his eyes and made a wish. Desiring that this moment would never fade, him surrounded by the people he cared deeply for. Everyone healthy and a smile painting their lips while they celebrated his birthday. He filled his lungs with air and looked at the eight little flames in front of him. But instead of the sound of rushing air and cheering, the ripping of cloth was heard, and a little black wolf was sat on the stool in lieu.

The room went silent everyone staring at the puppy with the big eyes. Slowly similes formed on their faces, happy that a new wolf found its fur. Cheers and clapping filled the room. Congratulations came flying Jungkook’s way, little hands stretching and shoving to touch his fur. His father returning with a camera and capturing the scene. His mother wiping away a stray tear of happiness. Glad she was able to witness that new chapter in her son’s live. Meanwhile Jin watched the situation from his chair unmoving and having eyes for one thing and one thing only: “Yeah, that’s really great but can we eat cake now.”

Jin and Tae funnily shifted at the same time. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon and all of you with the exception of Namjoon and Hoseok, who were attending a pack meeting in request of their parents, were playing in Yoongi’s backyard. Both his parents were gone one a hunting trip for a few days, like they often were, leaving Yoongi and his brother on their own. The beta was in his wolf form, having turned a few weeks ago while turning on the shower and the water having been too cold. His brown fur with a read hint feeling silky as you braided it. When you stared, he let out a little huff, showing annoyance at your antics, but being too lazy to move he let you do your thing. You smirked to yourself, knowing that he actually enjoyed the feeling of your finger running through his fur.

Jimin and Jungkook were training on one side of the huge yard. Both of them started taking a liking to taekwondo. Meanwhile the other two troublemakers were playing a game of badminton on the other side of the field. A loud yell was heard, when Jin lost another point to the younger, the wind’s fault of course.

After two more failed attempts the oldest threw down his racked in anger and started chasing the dark haired. Laughter filled the air as Tae took off. The feel of the chase awoke something primal in Jin and before he knew it a new sensation washed over his skin and he suddenly chased Tae on four legs instead of the usual two. The youngers instincts were triggered by the older wolf chasing him and his own first shift took place. Tae had a soft looking, sand coloured fur, while Jin was another brown one but with more of an ashy touch.

The rest of the afternoon the both of them explored their new ability alongside Jungkook. Jimin had taken residency behind you, back hugging you while watching the others. Although you couldn’t see his face, you felt the wave of sadness that washed over him. The both of you were the only ones who hadn’t turned yet. You were only twelve so you still had enough time before it would be considered abnormal, but the pressure lingered.

Jimin didn’t turn until he was seventeen, a fact which cost him a lot of fights with his parents and multiple appointments with his doctor. Countless nights spent in your bed, crying into your pillow, screaming because of the pain this was causing him. With him being the alpha, he was expected to be this strong wolf that no one stood a chance against, but here he was not able to do the simplest thing known to your beings.

When he did turn his wolf was coated in a beautiful fur of the purest white you had ever laid eyes upon. His animal form as elegant as his human. His parents were proud and from there perspective Jimin’s flaw had faded just like their problems, but in reality, their relationship never went back to the way it was. He wasn’t the kid that ran home from school because he missed his mother anymore. Or the one that would tremble on his feet at his first dance performance, until he saw his fathers encouraging smile, which could wash away any problem, and let him be the beautiful swan he was.

You had turned a day after Jimin, had cried yourself to sleep the night before at the fact that you were the only one of your group that hadn’t turned yet. You were happy for Jimin when he called you and told you about the great news; genuinely. But the fear and self-hatred crawled up on you at night. Reminding you of your duty, as an omega and as a wolf, to your pack and your incapability of living up to it.

The following day you felt nauseous and empty, but still your parents forced you to attend school. As a senior it was important to be present as often as possible and to learn until your brain smoked to insure you could attend the collage of your choosing. You made it to two lessons, before the sick feeling in your stomach won the upper hand and you ran to the bathroom. Having arrived at the stall and preparing yourself to let out your small breakfast, a warmth like never before overcame you. You let out a pained breath as you felt your body expand and your cloth rip. And then you stood there, grey fur covering your body as you saw yourself in the bathroom mirror.

Your ears flexed at every sound that could be heard from outside. The footsteps of a person running somewhere; probably late for class. The uncomfortable squeaking of a chalk on a black board. Then a waft of a delicious smell slipped through the opening beneath the door. The cafeteria ladies had started cooking lunch. Hamburgers and fries how it seemed. And then you could smell a familiar scent, one that you would be able to pick up anywhere. Clumsily you were able to open the door with your bowl sized paws. You hurried down the hallway, slipping a few times on the freshly cleaned tiles.

You almost ran Namjoon over when you saw him. Standing before his locker, he was grabbing a history book for his next lesson, when you bumped into him. At first, he was simply shocked, pondering why a stranger would run into him like that. But then he picked up on your sent slowly, his olfactory sense not having fully developed yet, it took him awhile to realise who was standing in front of him.

A lazy grin covered his face as realisation hit him. Slowly he got down on his knees and warped his arms around your neck: “Hello my pretty omega, welcome to your true form.”

The others were ecstatic when they heard the good news. Happy that all of their group members had been blessed with the ability to shift, knowing of the horrific outcome the situation could have had, had you not turned before your eighteenth birthday. When every wolf was fully developed, and alphas gained the capability of forming their pack and gifting their mark.

Your pack was safe, healthy, and happy, and that was all that concerned you for now.

Linked By Fate

You exhale deeply as you continue to drift forward. The cold around you being kept out by the thick winter equipment you’re wearing. The sun was covered by grey clouds and soft snowflakes danced from the sky. The weather wasn’t great, but you had seen worse. The snow that covered the ground was light, so it was easy to glide through it.

When the edge of your board got caught on a snow heap, your body froze up and your heart rate accelerated. Fear of a possible fall overtaking your body. Thankfully, you were able to keep your footing and press the edge down hard enough to move the snow and safe yourself. Unfortunately, your companion behind you didn’t see the heap in time and was missing the necessary experience to react properly. He fell face first and ate snow.

The yelp that left him force your head around. Quickly you came to stop, your board creating a dragging sound on the ice, hidden behind the freshly fallen snow. Covered in a black pair of ski pants and a bright yellow jacket the boy lifted himself up on his arms and shook his head to get the snow to fall of his goggles.

“Are you alright?”, you voiced out your question, concern accompanying your words. From the way he fell the risqué of injuring your wrists or getting a concussion was high. The boy turned his head in your direction, a dazzling smile painting his lips. Automatically yours replicate the action. He got up on his feet and dusted himself of to get rid of the snow that had stayed behind. Slowly he slid your way, stopping below you. You were facing the valley side while he faced the mountain side. Your eyes connect through your tinted covers. A moment of silence fell upon you. Both enjoying the stillness and the others presence. A warm look took over your features.

“You need to be more careful, Tae. You could have really hurt yourself back there. Snowboarding is as dangerous as it is fun.“

The aforementioned boy had begged you for years to teach him how to board. When you gave in three years ago, the process to the first turn had been long and strenuous. He was impatient and pushed himself too hard. Resulting in him spending more time falling than driving during. Slowly he came to understand that his efforts would only payoff if he invested the necessary time. Each curve had to be pulled through until the very end, the sides easily getting redirected by the lines on the ground if you lost focus to soon. You needed strength, posture, and flexibility at the same time.

“Don’t worry. I’m fine. It takes more than a little stumble to take down a wolf.” An arrogant look covered his face. You could do nothing but roll your eyes, shoving his shoulder lightly, not wanting him to fall backwards.

“Come on you lovebirds. I’m cold, so I know the both of you must be freezing. You can gaze into each other’s eyes at the cabin as well.”, Jimin’s voice called from the bottom of the hill. His skis standing parallel, knees lightly bend. His withe outfit blending in with his surroundings.

Taehyung and you follow his request without commenting, both of you feeling the cold strongly, like Jimin predicted. The drive to the gondola was quick without further tumbles. You all took of your equipment and entered the mode of transport. It was a tight fit.

Jimin stood in front of you, back leaning against the windows while Taehyung covered your back, not wanting anybody body to stumble into you whenever you drove past a mast. You had taken of your helmet holing it by the strap not enjoying the heat that formed beneath now that you were sheltered from the harsh weather. You used you gained freedom to bury you face in the alphas neck, the frozen tips of your nose grazing his mark, causing him to jump slightly before exhaling deeply. Meanwhile back in the cabin Namjoon’s body jolted slightly on the couch. Smiling as Jimin’s scent faintly enveloped him.

The gondola sway in the air, the crowd mumbling whenever it became too much to be pleasant. Looking past Jimin’s shoulder, admiring the dance the snowflakes performed outside. The weather had worsened, the wind picking up its pace, wiping through the air. The sun was gone, darkness slowly taking over the sky.

The gondolas had two stopes, one at 2’000 meters above sea, where the cabins and hotels were stationed and the second one at the village below. There you had parked your cars yesterday.

When the first stop came it was a task in itself to get of the floating room. Careful not to push your board into an innocent face, you wiggled your way out. The cabin was a ten-minute walk away from the gondola centre. Namjoon’s parents wanted privacy when they bought their vacation home.

The rest of your pack at spend their afternoon there. All of you had slept in this morning, tired from the six-hour drive. The smell of cooking had eventually woken you up, slipping from Hoseok’s arms to go investigate. Your hungry tummy not allowing you to go back to sleep. The alpha let a growl slip past his slips, immediately feeling your departure. Not sensing any danger, he let his mind drift back to sleep.

When you entered the kitchen, the oldest member of you pack was standing there with an apron around his hips, flipping over a pancake while whistling to himself. Sensing your presence behind him he turned his head slightly, smiling in your direction. He beckoned you over by tilting his head. With quick feet you walked towards him, slipping underneath his left arm, and pressing your face into the side of his chest. You could feel him leave a kiss against the top of your head, a satisfied whine leaving you. He answered by pushing you further into him, fingers gripping your hips.

“You smell like Hobi,” he sighs. You couldn’t decipher if he was jealous or content about that fact. Lifting your face, you rested your chin on his pectoral. Gazing into his deep brown eyes, gleefully noticing the warmth in them.

“You know why”, you replied. A sound of acknowledgment left him, lips pressing into your forehead. He returned to his food asking you to set the table. While you put down the glasses Yoongi and Jungkook came stumbling down the stairs.

Both of the greeting you with a kiss on the cheek. Jungkook’s mouth wandering, while the beta went to help Seokjin. His lips glided along your jaw, teeth nibbling your skin. A whine slipped past your oral opening; eyes falling shut. He reached your scent gland at the juncture between your neck and shoulder, nosing along it. Placing your hands on his chest, your nails dug into his shirt, scratching his nipples.

His tongue slithered out of his mouth, licking over the sensitive area. A moan left you, knees buckling. His right hand found the small of your back, strong digits pressing you into him. Inhaling deeply a growl left him.

“I missed you last night”, his voice was husky. Sleep still clouding his senses. Your hand travelled up his chest and behind his neck. Burying it in the hair at the nape of his neck, pulling slightly.

“From what I heard, you and Yoongi, were having a lot of fun on your own”, the remark caused him to nip your gland, chastising you. A gasp slipped past your swollen lips, bruised from your teeth repeatedly diffing into them.

“Okay that’s enough”, Yoongi spoke from the kitchen opening, trailing behind Jin who was previously enjoying the show. They were carrying the food into the open living room with the big wooden table. Large enough for twelve people.

With a huff Jungkook released you from his grasp and sat down at the middle of the table. Jin’s voice rang through the house, calling the other ones down. Promptly a “coming” from Namjoon followed. As Yoongi past behind you, he let his hand glide over your back side. No grabbing or comment, just a silent statement to your radiating appeal.

The others filled in quickly. Jimin almost sitting in Namjoon’s lap, sleepy face buried in his arm as the pack alpha fed him. Taehyung and Jungkook were fighting for the last piece of bacon while Seokjin and Yoongi looked on with a fond smile, holding hands silently. Hoseok was sitting to your right. Having pulled your chair next to his, the second he sat down. Pilling food on your plate and watching you eat. A happy huff left him every time you took a bite of something. Making sure you were hydrated and well taken care of.

All of you decide on your afternoon activities and split up. Hobi whining when he heard your plans but ultimately not wanting to stand in the way of you doing something you loved. Him and Jungkook went on a run, wanting to let their wolfs free for a while. Namjoon chose to continue reading his book and the oldest two wanted to relax and play some computer games.

Now you and the two boys were entering through the front door. Happily accepting the warmth that welcomed you.

A mouth-watering smell intertwined with Yoongi’s came from the kitchen. Taehyung slipping away to investigate what was planned for dinner and maybe sneak a little something beforehand.

The fireplace in the living room was alit, golden flames dancing within. On the rug in front of it a wolf. Thick fur getting heated by the fire. While he seemed a sleep the movement of his ears clearly indicated that he was conscious and listening. As soon as he caught your smell his eyes shot open, lifting his head to inspect you. Satisfied when he didn’t see any injuries or picked up a distressed smell, he lowered his head again. You and Jimin excused yourself to go wash up.

Dinner past fast. Yoongi conjured a delicious meal that left your stomachs full and warm. The deer, how you later found out, was caught by Hoseok and Jungkook. Their instincts as alphas to provided for their pack fuelling them to hunt the animal down and bring home.

Later you all found yourselves on the big couch in the upper living room. The TV playing a movie in front of you. You were laying on Hobi’s chest, his hand buried in your hair, massaging your scalp, making it difficult to stay awake.

With his rut only being two days away, his possessiveness over your time and attention had risen to new hights over the past few days. Tomorrow you wouldn’t be able to leave his side. Your shifting into your true form had triggered the ruts from the alpha of your chosen pack. Even though you weren’t eighteen and haven’t been marked by Namjoon yet, your bodies new who you belonged to. With your birthday only being five months away, you were the last to get claimed by your pack alpha, the others already bearing Namjoon’s mark.

You were thankful that your alphas all had their ruts at different times, otherwise being the only omega would have proven to be more difficult than expected. The tale old insecurities that had consumed you for years would have risen anew and tortured your mind.

But you wouldn’t dwell on these thoughts today. Today you would enjoy the company of your mates, the warmth that kept you breathing and the strength that guided you through any turbulences that may come your way.

Looking through the large wall of windows behind the TV you noticed the storm raging outside. The moon barely shining through the thick clouds. Trees branches whipping though the air, the wind guiding their movements. Snowflakes performing their deadly Spiel in the cold night. But as dangerous as the frozen water was, no one could deny its beauty.

Memory Sheet

Werewolf AU

Fluff, Angst, Smut

A/N: Hey, guys. I hope you are all doing well. I decided to create this memory sheet so we all have an overview about the laws and facts of this universe. I will update this after every chapter if needed. -Ally

Linked By Fate

Alpha

-Naturally very warm

-Capability to force weaker wolfs to follow their commands

-Possessive and providing nature

Beta

-Calming

-Balanced

Omega

-Naturally submissive (sometimes only for their own pack but mostly in general)

-Caring and nurturing nature

Pack

-There are two kind of packs:

-The inner pack were each member bears the mark of the alpha and the mating process has taken place. The members vow to take care of each other: human and wolf.

-The city pack were multiple inner packs form an alliance, where they life in the same place to ensure the safety of their members by number. One pack alpha is chosen who often is followed by their heir. The pack alpha choses individuals, who fill out the master roles for fighting, healing, etcetera. Those hold the authority in their aspect and are responsible for the entire city pack in the specific part.

Mating

-Omegas are the only ones that can birth children and they can only be fertilized by alphas or betas.

-Pairings that can’t birth children themselves, can adopt pups.

-Within the last few decades, the bond between same hierarchical wolf gained acceptance.

-A new development which only started in the last few years is the mating of several wolfs within one inner pack instead of the know number of two. It seems as if society redevelops to their natural instincts to be in larger groups. A lot of inner packs who hold more than five members depart from the bigger pack to life on their own. This constellation is still frowned up on. A lot of elder feel as the mating process should only be held between two individuals.

Shifting

-Normally wolfs shifted before their 14th birthday

-Wolf who shift later are frowned up on and viewed as abnormal. Scientifically speaking, there are no errors or faults found in the wolf who shift later. They are called “Late Shifter”

-If a wolf doesn’t turn by their 18th birthday, they are incapable of doing it

-Every pack had different way of treating an abnormal wolf. In your city pack it was custom, that the wolf is killed. As a member they were seen as a burden and on their own they wouldn’t survive. It was seen as a merciful act.

Working field

-Even with an area of change, most alphas still hold the managing positions.

-While betas gained a lot of ground in the working field, omegas still are mostly used to fill providing positions such as caretakes or chefs or jobs where they wouldn’t have to keep others in check. Such a task would prove difficult because of their naturel behaviour.

-This led to omegas often having a low income and relying on the alpha or beta (if part of a pack) for financial stability.

Post: Tuesday, 18th May 2021, 7 am MESZ.

I hope you guys will enjoy it.

Here a little sneak peak:

You scooted forward in your seat, knees pressing into the back of Hoseok’s. Raising your arms your warped them around his shoulders, forehead pressing into the cool black leather. Hobi released one hand from around the steering wheel and placed it on your forearms, thumb drawing small circles on your skin. Letting out a heavy breath you tried to let go of the anxious feeling that had settled into the bit of your stomach. A choked whine escaped your lips when it didn’t work.

His grip tightened, fingers pressing firmly into you, trying to give you his silent comfort. Startled you flinch when a hand softly landed on the back your neck. Your eyes flew open, only to close again, when said hand glided upwards, into your hair. Namjoon had woken up. The light pulling of your tresses forcing you to relax. Mouth staying shut, none of you said a word. Sucking up the last peaceful moments and bracing yourselves for the upcoming weekend.

Linked By Fate

The inner space of the car was quiet. A calming atmosphere surrounding the three of you. Namjoon had fallen asleep in the passenger seat. His head leaning against the window, light snoring filling the car every once in a while. It was good that he was able to catch a few more hours of sleep. The next few day were going to be rather exhausting for him, he needed all the energy he could get. Hoseok was planted in the driver’s seat. His hands were gripping the steering wheel tightly, his body sitting rigid in the leather seat.

The three of you were on your way to the quarterly UP meeting. United Packs. Every three month the heads of every pack that was part of the union met up, to talk about trading, threatening rogue actions, ectara. It was also used to form alliances that could profit the pack. Namjoon and Hoseok were required to attend as the future pack alpha and master of fight since they were fifteen. They came here with their parents to learn how to create partnerships with others. Take note of how much to offer to seam trustworthy but never enough to put your packs safety in danger.

Since you had turned last summer, Namjoon’s mother thought that not only should you accompany them, after you had finally proven to be a real wolf and knowing that you will bear her son’s mark as soon as you turn eighteen but that the boys were also old enough to hand the weekend trip on their own by now. It was a trial run, obviously. Testing the alphas if they were able to fulfil their business duties by themselves as well as they completed every other task thrown there way. And they were testing you. Were you able to support your pack alpha during this journey? Would you know how to carry yourself, interact with others, without bring shame to your pack?

As am omega, you were mainly arm candy on this weekend. An accessory for Namjoon to show off. Be seen but not heard. An antiquated requirement but one that your elders and a lot of the attending alphas still valued. After announcing that you would be joining the alphas, Namjoon had told you multiple times to just be yourself but keep low profile. You knew what that meant: he wasn’t happy with how things worked but had accepted the situation. You understood his point of view. These weekends were important for your pack. If you didn’t behave as expected it could cost your people a lot of alliances – vital alliances.

Knowing the weight that your appearance held, it didn’t surprise you that sleep hadn’t overcome you the previous night. You had to put on an extra layer of concealer this morning to cover up the bags beneath your eyes. It was also the reason why you had fallen asleep twenty minutes into the car ride. After a little stop halfway through though, you were more awake then ever. Your knee bouncing up and down the closer you got to your destination. The navigation system said it would take another seventeen minutes.

That was also the reason why Hobi was releasing more and more stressed pheromones. None of you enjoyed being here. It was a weekend of lies, fake smiles and a well performed dance of demanding and giving.

All to soon you reached the hotel where the UP meeting was held. It was a neutral building, not claimed by anyone and only built for the UP. While Hobi parked the car, you marvelled at the sight in front of you. It was huge. An old build, U-shaped house, with dozens of windows. After the car parked you excited the Hyundai.

White gravel greeted your feet, your pumps creating a crunching sound. The November wind whipped around your body, tousling your hair. The temperature was cooler here than back at home, the mountain drew in the cold. Your cocktail dress provided little warmth, your body heat slipping away fast. You wore a black sateen knee-length dress with golden dahlias on it. Your shoes golden as well like your earrings, bracelets, and rings. A black sateen chocker wrapped around your throat.

Sudden warmth enveloped you, as Namjoon placed your coat on your shoulders. You didn’t bother putting it on properly, knowing that you’ll be inside soon and the heat there would be unbearable with the extra fabric. Silently he gave you your clutch before grabbing your free hand.

“Are you ready?” he whispered the words. Not wanting the bellboys unpacking your car to pick up on the conversation.

Looking deep into his brown eyes you nodded. He raised an eyebrow in question, showing he wasn’t convinced. Letting out a breath you pulled your shoulders back gave him soft smile. Reluctantly he nodded in return before turning around and make his way towards the entrance, your hands still intertwined. Checking quickly, you noted that Hobi was following behind you.

The portier opened the door for you three and pointed out the direction to the reception. There you were greeted by a nice middle-aged woman who checked you in. It was shortly past four in the afternoon, so your suite was ready for usage. You each got an individual key, after Namjoon requested one for your specifically. Camille, her name tag read, didn’t let the unordinary request falter her professionalism. Omegas didn’t have their own key; it wasn’t needed because they were expected to stay by their pack alpha’s side throughout the duration of the trip.

A young page boy brought you up to your suit on the fourth floor. The design was, like the rest of the house, vintage. The furniture was made out of rosewood, the dark colour perfectly correlating with the creamy colours of the walls and carpet. There were three separate bedrooms each with their own bathroom attached.

Unnecessary, of course, it was clear from the beginning that you would be sleeping together in one of the queen beds. Choosing the one with the few of the lake which was found on the left side of the building.

Hoseok immediately fell face first onto the rich mako percale bed linen, the Egyptian fabric luring him in. After the four-hour drive in was understandable that he was tired. You helped him out of his jacket and took of his shoes. You wouldn’t have to attend the opening dinner for another two and a half hours. He could get some sleep before he had to get read.

Leaving the room, you heard the shower running in another room. Your luggage was placed next to the front door, only Joonie’s missing. Happily, you slipped of your pumps and laid on the couch in the open area. One hand thrown over your face, the other placed on your stomach, right beneath your rib cage. Vibrations suddenly came from your left, your clutch shaking on the coffee table, where you had put in previously. Reaching for it, you fished out your phone, smiling when you read the caller’s name.

“Hey”, the word left your lips softly, careful not to wake Hobi.

“Didn’t I tell you to call me the second you arrived safely?”, his tone was accusing but you couldn’t help the huff of laughter that left you.

“We just arrived twenty minutes ago, mom.”, you added an eyeroll with the last word, knowing it was basically his second name with how often you used it.

“Not in that tone, young lady”, he played along. A giggle escaping both of you. Silence followed, as you both took a deep breath.

“How are you feeling?” So, there was the reason for his call. Miles away and he still knew you needed his comfort.

“I-I don’t know. I’m nervous. There are some many people, Jin. There were at least sixty cars parked outside, when we arrived and more coming. I don’t want to mess this up. I feel like just one slip up and I’ll ruin everything. I don’t know how to do this. You know me. I’m none of this well-behaved, only-speaks-when-spoken-to-omega.” With a heavy breath you ended your little outburst. Your thoughts laid out in the open.

“No, you’re not. And that’s what we love about you. You are perfect the way you are, honey. You are going to go to that dinner tonight and you are going to enjoy it. You will meet knew people and exchange stories. There is nothing you are going to mess up or ruin, okay? And the second somebody makes you feel this way or anything but nice to you, you tell Namjoon or Seok and they will put an end to it. You know they will.”

“But that is exactly the problem, isn’t it? What if I offend somebody important and Namjoon has to decided between my butthurt feelings and a crucial treaty?” You started to nervously play with the hem of your dress, spilling what had hunted you for weeks.

“No contract is more important to us than you, you hear me?” One question that brought tears to your eyes because you could hear the conviction in it.

“I know”, you timidly said. Having known the answer all along, but still not wanting to be the reason for it.

“Good. So, tell me, what are you going to wear tonight?” The question brought a smile to your face and happily you told him about your planed outfit.

-

The dining room full of commotion when you entered. Twenty-five big round white tables distributed around the room; silverware ready for the first course. You were led to your table number elven by one of the employees, carefully meandering through the crowd. Your arm was hooked around Namjoon’s bicep. Your pack alpha was wearing black slacks with a matching jacket and a white dress shirt beneath. Hoseok was wearing the same clothing but in all black, the outfit matching his hair which was parted on his forehead. Namjoon had dyed his hair silver a few weeks ago because of a lost bet with Seokjin. To say it drove you crazy was the understatement of the century. He picked up on your liking of his new look quickly, noting the way you would use any excuse to run your hand through it, pulling at the strands and leading him between your thighs on more than one occasion.

Arriving at your table you were greeted by an elder alpha who had two female omegas sitting on each side of his. His name was Kim Do Hyun, the omegas weren’t introduced. You hadn’t heard of him before, but he seemed to know Namjoon, greeting him with a hug and nodding towards Hoseok.

On your right was sat a she-wolf alpha called Park Sun Hee in attendance with her omega Hyo. Park was the first who had introduced herself to you and asked your name. Your answer almost a whisper before you turned your attention back to Namjoon, missing the way her red lips curved upwards.

On your left sat alpha Hyun Jae with his son Seung, an alpha as well, and his omega Mi Kyong. A beautiful girl, but she couldn’t have been older than twenty. Seung was obviously older than his father’s omega and whenever his father paid the omega any kind of attention, a snarl painted his lips. His disliking for the girl was obvious.

Namjoon pulled out your chair and your carefully sat down, mindful of the long cut on the right front of your azure blue dress. Namjoon sat down to your left and Hoseok to his.

“It’s good to see you again, Namjoon-Boy. How have you been?”, Do Hyun asked.

“I’ve been well, thank you for asking. How about you?”, your alpha replied politely. There was a heaviness to his voice. He couldn’t be open and talk freely like you were used to with him. Here he had to mull over each word in his head and make sure not to fall into any hidden traps.

“Ah, same old, same old. I see your mother finally decided you were old enough to attend the meeting on your own. And you brought a newcomer”, he let his word trail of into nothingness, waiting for Namjoon to introduce you.

“This is Y/N, a part of my pack.”

“She doesn’t bear your mark”, Sun Hee pointed out, her tone irking something deep within you. It was more than just an observation.

“Not yet”, Namjoon responded with a sharp edge, “she will turn eighteen next year. That’s when I will mark her. That has been decided long ago.” His words leaving no room for misinterpretation. The she-alpha simply raised one eyebrow but stayed silent.

“You should take note, Jae. Seung is how old now? 23? 24? There is now reason why he should still be accompanied by his father”, Do Hyun said with a laughter.

“Ahh, the boy isn’t ready yet. There is still so much he has to learn. He isn’t as smart or studious as Namjoon. The boy never listens”, Hyun Jae answers. If Seung is hurt by his father’s words he doesn’t let it show. He simply waves down a waiter and requests a whisky.

“You see?! The only thing he’s good for is drinking himself into an early grave”, Hyun Jae says, his accusation filled with laughter. Seung’s eyes met yours, his pupils holding a dark heaviness. Pain written in the depth of them.

Before a new conversation could be started or more insults could be dished out, the first course was served. Throughout the evening various topics were breached. Do Hyun wanted to talk with Namjoon the following day about a potential trading contract, assuring him that he would profit greatly from it. Sun Hee talked with Hyun Jae about the coming winter while his son was asking to Hoseok about different fighting styles he had acquired and which one he deemed best.

Whenever possible Namjoon had put a hand on your leg, giving you his silent comfort as you stayed silent unless you were asked a question.

“So, Y/N, tell me something about you”, Sun Hee next to you demanded.

“Ahm, there isn’t really much to say about me”, finishing you sentence with an awkward laugh.

“I’m sure that’s not true. I bet you’re more interesting than you think”, her eyes bore into yours as she said that.

“Uh, I guess. I am seventeen and still in Senior High. It’s my last year, although, I’m not sure what I’m going to do afterwards.” While you were talking her eyes ran over your body, catching on the cut which provided her a nice view of your leg.

“And have you ever considered to leave your pack? To travel, gain new experiences?” Her eyes travelled back up, lingering on your unmarked neck. Her pink tongue came into view as she licked her fangs.

“Ahm, no, not really. I- I am very happy with my pack.”, you stamped, leaning slightly in the opposite direction.

“Maybe there are other places that could make you happy – other wolfs”.

A threatening growl arose from your left, Namjoon’s hand grabbing the back of your neck and pulling you towards him. Sun Hee immediately replied with a threatening rumble of her own, not backing down from the challenge.

“Believe me, I keep my omega very happy. There is nothing you could give her, that she doesn’t already have.”, the words were hard to distinguish over the deep growl that wouldn’t stop vibrating from his chest. Red covered your cheeks as you understood their meaning.

Suddenly Sun Hee’s growling came to an end, and she got up and left. Her omega trailing timidly behind her. Namjoon didn’t move keeping you tucked close to him while he followed her with his eyes. Making sure she left the room.

Your eyes connected with Hoseok’s, his mouth moving silently: are you okay? You nodded slowly, not wanting anyone to worry. Slowly Joonie’s hand travelled from the back of your neck to your check as he steered you so he could look you in the eyes.

“Are you alright?”, he eyes searched yours thoroughly, telling you silently that one word from you was enough for him to take you up to your suite.

“I’m fine, really. Nothing happened. Don’t worry. “, you gave him a reassuring simile. A pregnant silence filled your table, nobody sure how to respond to the situation, nobody but one.

“Don’t worry about it, Namjoon-Boy. You know how Sun Hee is, she’s a flirt. You should have known that that would happen if you brought an unmated omega to this place. They are nothing but trouble.” A scoff followed Do Hyun’s words.

They hurt, deeply, but you didn’t let it show. You had realised throughout this dinner that he was one of the main trading partners of your pack. You wouldn’t let his old-fashion view cost your wolfs their food. You whispered an “Ignore it” to Namjoon and resumed eating your chocolate cake.

The rest of the dinner thankfully advanced without another disruption. By the time you reached your chamber your feet ached because of the silver high heels and it was difficult to keep your eyes open. As soon as you had taken of your makeup and put on a nude-coloured negligee you climbed into bed with your alphas. Claiming the middle, like most nights. Their alpha instincts never allowing you to sleep at the edge if other wise possible.

You laid your head on Namjoon’s pectoral, hand landing on his ribcage. Behind you Hobi rolled over until he was spooning you from behind, nose nuzzling into your hair as his arm wrapped itself around your waist. There was no spaced left between the both of you. Namjoon’s left arm laid outstretched below both of your heads, fingers buried in Hobi’s hair.

“Well, that was a good start to this weekend.”, at Hoseok words your pack alpha visibly deflated. Stress and tiredness were written all over his face. He buried his right hand in his hair, pulling slightly at how frustrated he was.

You whined lowly at seeing him in such distress, reaching up to tuck your face into his neck. Inhaling his scent of coffee and old books you ran your tongue over his scent gland. A happy rumble echoed within his chest. You felt it more than you heard it.

“It’s going to by okay. Tomorrow will talk with her and settle the situation. Remember what we’re here for and let’s focus on this task. We have to do what is best for our pack”, you are surprised at your own words. Trying hard to keep a clear head.

Namjoon nodded shorty, agreeing with you. The three of you exchanged your “goodnights” and “I love you’s” before you let your eyes drift shut. The days taxing events easily knocking you out.

-

The following day Namjoon was occupied with a meeting where all the pack alphas from the west met. Outsiders weren’t invited. Hobi was having a meeting with the fellow masters of fight near our border. Talking about new defences and how to overview rogue actions. A possible hunt of them also being part of the discussion. Meanwhile you spend most of the day in your room, reading a book about wolf anatomy, the content part of the questions in a nearing exam, ordering room service and having a call with Jimin and Taehyung.

The both of them where on their own little adventure this weekend. Taehyung took the kids he was watching over, at the day care he helped out, on a little camping trip to the south. Chasing the last warm rays of sunshine this year had to offer. Jimin immediately asked if he could be part of the trip as soon as he hear about it.

They told you about the adventures they had been on since the morning before being called away quickly, the kids demanding their attention. After their call, you take a nap on the couch, only awoken by Hoseok hours later. Waking you to get ready for tonight’s dinner.

This time you wore a forest green dress. A simple A-line that touched the floor, thin straps sitting on your shoulders and black ankle strap lace heels gracing your feet. Namjoon wore the same suit as yesterday, but with a dress shirt that matched your dress. Hoseok went with light green slacks, a with dress shirt and white sneakers.

Same room, same table, same guests. But this time Namjoon didn’t take any chances and made sure you sat in the middle.

Sun Hee kept the conversation strictly business, not looking in your direction once.

Hyun Jae, however, couldn’t stop talking about Namjoon and what a competent alpha he was going to be. Praising him for finding such a capable master of fight and well-behaved omega. The more praise your alpha got; the more drinks went down Seung’s throat. The young alpha sending of enraged pheromones whenever his father passed an insulating comment.

As soon as dinner was over, Do Hyun stole Namjoon away, previously complaining that they hadn’t talked about the trading contract yet. Hoseok stolen away by Hyun Jae, the elder wanting to introduce some wolfs to him, who had just gained the title of master of fight.

You all agreed to meet at the suite, knowing that those conversations would take awhile and you already being rather tired. You held a polite conversation with Mi Kyong for a few minutes before excusing yourself from the table.

“I’ll bring you to your room”, Seung said while pushing his chair back.

“Oh no, that isn’t necessary”, you replied. Uncomfortable with the thought of being alone with the unfamiliar alpha.

“Please, it would be remiss of me if I were to let you go by yourself.” His tone didn’t leave any room for debating. Not wanting to make a scene you accepted his offer and bid your goodbyes to the rest.

Entering the elevator, Seung suddenly became very nervous. He started to fiddle with his hands and his breathing picked up. His scent laced with nervousness filled the limited space. Pressing the number to your floor, you looked at him concerned.

“Are you alright?” A curt nod was all you got in return. When you reached your floor there was a shift in the air. Determination colours his features and he rolled his shoulders back, the anxious behaviour whipped away. He silently followed you off the lift, walking behind you and watching as you opened the door to your suite.

You stepped inside, turning swiftly to look at the alpha. You suddenly notice how tall he was, at least a head taller than you, hovering over your form. He was leaning against the door frame, head hung, eyes focused on his pointy leather shoes.

“Alright”, you said hesitantly, “thank you for accompanying me. Have a good evening, Seung”, you were about to close the door when no replay followed but he stretched out his arm, holding the door open.

“You know, since my father met Namjoon he doesn’t stop talking about him. How great he is, an amazing alpha who is going to lead his pack to great success. Everything I do, always gets compared to his actions, pointing out how inferior I am. All the aspects I am lacking in constantly thrown in my face.” His head was still pointed downwards while he uttered those words. He said it with a passive voice, that scarred you to the bone. The wood creating a creaking sound underneath his hand which was still holding the door open.

“I thought there was nothing else he could outclass me in. And then he shows up here, with this beautiful, obedient little omega, that he can call his. It is so unfair. I will never catch up to him. There is nothing I can do against him- but there is something I can take from him.” With his last words his gaze rose, settling on your neck. Your mouth went dry, and a freezing fear settled into your bones.

The law, that betas and omega weren’t allowed to be marked before their 18thbirthday was well known in your world and ruled over every wolf. Alphas were able to leave their mark way earlier, but it was deemed illegal. Most off the time young wolfs aren’t able to comprehend the severity off the marking and regret it for the rest of their lives. This can lead to heavy depression and the death of one or both wolfs.

A forced marking is even worse. If the process doesn’t happen willingly, most of the time, your inner wolf doesn’t accept the claim and forces themselves to harmful measures that will cause death sooner or later.

Before you could process what happened, Seung threw the door open and forced his way inside. You fell backwards with the presented strength, landing harshly on your back. A throbbing pain shot through your ankle, which had been twisted in the process. The door was closed with a deafening slam. Seung tuned towards you, letting his eyes slither over your form.

“First, I’ll take your pussy and while I’m buried within you, I’ll pierce my teeth through your skin. Marking you as mine, body, and wolf. Namjoon will never want you back and I’ll finally have something he hasn’t”, he growled, moving towards you.

You scrambled back fearfully, tears springing to your eyes. The carpet beneath you leaving burning scratches, when he bends down and pulls you towards him by your calf, his grip hard enough to leave bruising.

“No, no, no, no. Please stop. PLEASE.” Your scream was followed by a tearing sound as he ripped your dress open in the front. A cut from the bottom to the ending of your thighs, black thong peaking out from beneath. You tried to pry of his hands as he pushed your legs apart, forcing his way between them. After delivering a deep scratch to his right forearm he grabs your wrist and holds them above your head. Keeping them there with the injured arm.

His other arm trailed down your arm to your shoulder and chest. Harshly grabbing your boob, realising it only to pinch your nipple. A scream slipped past your mouth, the sting forcing the dam to break. Tears flowed over your face as you begged him to stop, sobbing into your arm when you had to turn away from the view of him. Mascara and lipstick smudging over your face.

Your pain didn’t hinder him, if anything the look of disgust and fear only spurred him on. His hand continued its journey, landing at the tear in your dress. Thumb reaching down to press into the black fabric of your underwear. The intimate touch caused you to jolt, nauseous consuming your senses. Clutching the top of your thong he pulled upwards, making your pussy lips, and scraping your clit with the harsh tug.

He placed his hand on your thigh to pull you closer. Grinding into your vulva, you could feel him hardening in his pants. Trembling violently, you pleaded for him to stop. He shushed you, leaning down to firmly press his wet lips on to yours. Sobs racked through your body. Forcefully he pushed his tongue through your opening. Salvia and tears reached your taste buds, the flavour causing your gag reflex to be triggered, a retching sound filling your throat. Unconsciously you bit on to the foreign body part. Blood filled your mouth as Seung pulled back, screaming in pain.

“You fucking bitch. Ah, fuck. You whore.” His hand released your thigh and pulled upwards. His first connected with your jaw, pressing your head into the floor. A ringing sound arose in your ears as black dots clouded your vision. Another slap was delivered to your face. The ring on his middle finger causing the soft flesh on your bottom lip to tear.

Suddenly his hands released you. Looking down you saw him undo his belt. A sticking fear jolted through your body and before you knew what happened you drew your right leg up to your chest and kicked him in the solar plexus.

The force sends him flying backwards, laying on his side, trying to draw in air. Jumping to your feet, you ran past him, out the front door. Far away, that was the only though on your mind while you stumbled forward in your heels. Looking backwards every once in a while, still continuing down the corridors, trying to see if he was following you.

A dinging sound in front of you drew over your attention. The elevator doors glid open and both of your alphas departed the transport mode. Their eyes falling onto you when they heard your footsteps racing towards them. Eyes springing open, as they saw the state you where in. Before they could react, you had flung yourself into Namjoon’s arms.

“Y/N what happened?” “Who did this?” Their voices overlapped, frantic in their questioning. You tried to answer but couldn’t the words stuck in your throat as you sobbed into Namjoon’s neck. He held you close to him, trying to calm you down but failing as his concerned and angered pheromones filled the air. You heart beating violently in your chest.

Faintly you could feel Hoseok’s presence leaving but you couldn’t focus on anything. Inhaling Namjoon’s original scent beneath the raging emotions he felt, your omega was able to calm down slowly. Your alpha’s here. He is going to protect you. Nothing can happen to you while he’s there.

“Alpha”, the name leaving your lips in a whimper.

“Shush, relax omega. Whatever it is, I’ll take care of it. Just calm down. Breath”, his soothing word had the hoped-for effect.

It wasn’t often that you tracked back to calling each other by your hierarchical order, deeming it humiliating and degrading in most case. But there were these moments every once in a while, where the regression had to happen to comfort one or more party. Creating a simpler mind set that could cloud a frantic mind. Thankfully, most of your alphas knew when a situation called for it; Jungkook still learning how to read the signs.

The adrenalin left your body, and your weight came crashing down on your limps. Heavy breaths filled your lungs. It was difficult to keep your eyes open, the crash sucking away all your reminding energy. Before you knew it, your consciousness left, leaving your limp in Namjoon’s arms.

-

The first thing your noticed when you opened you woke up was the sharp pain thrumming through your skull. The second thing was something heavy on your tummy. The third thing was a phantom hand that grabbed your thigh. Frightened you sat up, the heavy object lifting of you in the process. Pushed up on your arms you leaned forward in your sitting position heavy breath filling your lungs as your eyes focus on your upper leg. No hand. Closing your eyes, you exhaled relieved.

Something wet pressed into your forearm and when you turned you saw a black wolf was laying next to you on the bed.

“Hobi?” The wolf whined lowly, leaning forward pressing his head into your chest, forcing you back on the mattress. He shifted closer until he could rest his head on your collarbone. Suddenly the memories hit you like a truck. They were fragments and messy: marking, dinner, Seung, elevator, thumb, punch, carpet, comparison, kiss.

You shook your head vigorously, trying to rid yourself of the recollection. The movement only worsening your headache. Burying a head in Hobi’s fur you tried to focus on your breathing. You were here, unmarked, untouched. You were fine. Everything would be fine.

You don’t know how long you laid there, subconsciously petting the wolf next to you while attempting to calm your thoughts. Sometime later Namjoon entered the room, glass of water in one hand, headache pills in the other. Urging you to empty the entire cup.

“What happened?” Your voice was horse, but you weren’t sure if it was from the lack of use or the previous screaming and crying.

Namjoon took a deep breath, quickly glancing at the wolf before settling his gaze on his watch clasp, fiddling with it while talking.

“After you pas- after you passed out in my arms, I called for the stationary on call doctor. We brought you into this room and he looked you over. Turns out your body went into shock and shut itself down. You didn’t sustain any serious injuries, he didn’t- “a deep breath pushed past his lips, his fists balling, “you have some bruising and we have been icing your jaw. They should be gone in a week or two. You have a mildly sprained ankle which will take about the same amount of time to mend itself. Physically you’ll heal fast.”

The silence that filled the room was deafening. His apprehension to talk about the person that caused all off this obvious, but you had to know. You gaze drifted to the window on your left. It was dark outside, the sky filled with little stars. The moon only being partly visible form this angel.

“And what about- “, you let the sentence trail off, not able to speak his name. Hoseok answered with a deep growl. You ignored him, not able to console him right now.

A faint crack was heard. Turning your head, you saw that Namjoon had broken the clasp off his watch.

“After Hoseok saw the state, you were in he went to investigate. When he entered our suite and found Seung there. He put two and two together quickly. He- detain him. We informed the reception who called the police. They said they want to talk to you tomorrow, hear your version but they have your dress with his fingerprints as evidence.”

Silently you digested the information. Looking down on yourself your noticed that you were indeed not downing your torn dress anymore. You were wearing a pair of black sweatpants and a black jumper, both Namjoon’s. You notice purple fingerprints covering your wrists, your mind immediately taking you back to the moment you got them. How he laid on top of you, caging you in. Forcing himself on you.

Only when Namjoon lifted a hand to your check, did you notice you were crying. His touch was soft and delicate as if you could break at any moment. His hands had been rough when they touched you. Grabbing at you, pushing you, gripping you.

A new wave of sobs arose from your throat as you were brought back to that awful moment. Crying harder when you think about everything that could have happened.

Your alphas stay with you, holding you through it. It wasn’t long when you fell back into a restless sleep.

The next time you awoke, your suitcases had already been packed and your car was ready for take-off. You were supposed to leave around four in the afternoon, not seven o’clock in the morning, but none of you wanted to stay for the last lunch with the other packs.

The talk with the police had been short and taxing. The evidence clearly indicated what happened and on the hotels security footage they were able to see how Seung had force himself into your room. Interestingly, the footage of when Hoseok entered the suite had been lost.

The hotel apologised multiple times for the incident, promising to improve their security system on each floor and that something like that would never happen again. Camile checked you out, her customer smile from the beginning not present this time.

While you were backing out of the parking space you made eye contact with Hyun Jae who was standing in the entrance of the hotel. A stoic look covered his face as he watched you. You heard from the police that Seung was in the hospital at the moment. From there he would go straight into custody after he had healed enough. No visitors allowed until his trial was over.

When you didn’t give a reaction to his sight he turned around and walked back inside. Deep within there was a voice that screamed at you, telling you that this wasn’t over. You turned you gaze away from the hotel and focused on the trees that were flying past you. Hoseok speeding down the forest road, wanting to get away from this place as fast as possible.

Namjoon had told you that he had informed the others, a grimace painted your face when he did. Knowing that they would worry themselves beyond saving.

The car door was ripped open before the vehicle had stopped moving. Jungkook unbuckling your seatbelt and pulling you into his arms. With your legs hooked around his waist he stepped away from the Hyundai. He held you tighter than he had in a while. Scarred someone was going to take you away from him.

“I am happy your okay. When Hyung called I was so worried. I couldn’t bare not being able to hold you, to know you were alright.” He pressed his face into your neck, his tears staining your skin. Slowly you lifted your arms to submerge them into his hair, pressing him closer.

“I’m here. You don’t have to worry anymore. I’m right here”, you tried to calm him down, knowing how sucked up in his own thoughts he could get, without sharing his fears with the others. Always ready to be leaned on but never the one to lean on anyone. It was seldom that he showed his emotions so openly.

Movement behind you caught your attention. Turning your head, you saw Yoongi and Seokjin standing there. Holding out your hand toward them, you made a grabbing motion. Quickly they came over and engulfed you and the youngest alpha. Jin put his head on yours while you could feel Yoongi burying his face in your back.

You stayed there for a while, letting them scent mark you to calm their inner wolfs. Fully aware of how stressed they must have been; knowing their youngest was attacked but not being there to comfort you.

“Come inside, I want to look at your wounds”, Seokjin said while detangling himself.

“The doctor at the hotel already check me. I’m fine.” A pointed look from your oldest made you close your mouth. This wasn’t open for discussion. His gaze was caught by the purple and blue colouration on your face and his jaw locked, furry dancing in his eyes.

It took awhile to convince Jin that your injuries weren’t that major. He ordered you to lay back for the following week and to ice the bruising places regularly. And to immediately inform him if there were any new symptoms arising.

Jungkook hadn’t left your side since you got home. It was decided that all of you would stay at Jin’s house since your parents were on a vacation. Kookie would lay beside you on the bed eyes tracing every emotion that crossed your features, following you to the toilet and wating impatiently outside while you did your business. Sitting next to you at dinner, feeding you whenever he thought you were eating too slowly and that it must be because your wrist was hurting.

Jimin and Tae had insisted on a phone call before bed. They didn’t return until the following day form their trip. Asking you a million question and always needing one of the others to confirm that you were indeed fine. Tae cried over the phone and Jimin had to end it before he could wake the kids.

All of you fell asleep on the couch together, cuddled together.

The first nightmare woke you an hour later. Seung torturing your mind. You jostle awake, mind slowly processing your surroundings. Thankfully, neither Jin nor Jungkook had awoken, both of them laying next to you.

A clearing throat captured your attention, eyes finding Yoongi in the old brown leather seat next to the couch. His designated seat. A steaming mug sitting on the coffee table next to him. With a tilt of his head, he called you over. Carefully you untangled yourself from the two boys and walked over to the beta. Seating you across his lap sideways he moves your head, so it rested against his shoulder.

Silently he handed you the mug, blowing on it slightly to make sure you didn’t burn your tongue.

“Do you want to talk about it?”, he asked into the darkness. Shaking your head, you lifted the mug and brought it to your lips. Peppermint tee, Hobi’s and your favourite since you connected the scent to Yoongi. The beat also smelling like soil, a fresh mix for the sleepy wolf.

“Okay”, was all he said. Accepting your silence for now. It was going to take awhile before you would be fine again. The colourations on your skin would leave but the psychological scars would take longer to heal. Nightmares would torment your nights and loud noys and rapid movements your days. But you would get through it, because you had your seven protectors that would fight every fight by your side. Even the ones in your mind.

They would be overbearing for a while; Seokjin almost having a heart attack when you missed your bus back from school and came back thirty minutes late. His calls going straight to voice mail because your accumulator was empty. Chewing you out on the front porch about the importance of being available at all times; or why else would you carry a phone with you. Fear and worry being edged into every crease of his body.

Jungkook almost starting a physical altercation when he saw an alpha talking to you at the mall, thinking he was making you uncomfortable, when all he did was ask for direction. Storming over and shoving him away from your form. Needing Namjoon to pull him away from the stranger.

Namjoon and Hoseok suffered their own mental torture. Blaming themselves for what had happened; repeatedly saying that they should have never left you on your own. Hoseok throwing himself into training; working out daily until his muscles hurt too much to move. Jin constantly preparing vitamins for him to help heal the little tears in his muscles faster.

Namjoon on the other hand almost becoming overbearing, thinking he had to improve his leader skills, constantly fretting over the youngest until he was pushed out of the room. Taehyung growling at him when he wanted to tag along on the youngers exclusive forest run where he tried to discover new plants.

It took you all a while to get back to normal, but you managed; together. And three month later, you didn’t hide away from your responsibilities and stayed at home; like Namjoon’s mother offered. No, you went with your heads held high, chest puffed out and clear mindsets – all eight of you. Making a clear statement, that Kim Namjoon’s pack wasn’t one to mess with. That there was never a fight that you could win against them. They only came back stronger, prepared to take you down in order to protect their own.

Linked By Fate

Rain symbolizes multiple things depending on the context in which it appears, but most commonly connotes sadness, rejection, or despair.

Rain was hitting the window heavily, dark clouds filling the sky. Even though it was 9:32 am the weather made it look like twilight. The air was cold and the falling water like ice with the strength of the wind.

A black, knee length dress was enveloping your body, sleeves three quarter length. Simple black pumps adorned your feet and a black clutch laid on your bed. Simple make-up covered your face.

The sound of the doorbell rang through the house. You grabbed your purse and descent the stairs. Your parents were already at the venue. Namjoon’s mother had asked for a meeting before the event. Nobody was willing to tell you what it was about.

Opening the door Taehyung stood in front of you. Quickly he stepped inside, getting out of the rain while he waited for you to put on your black coat.

When you turned towards him, signalling that you were ready to leave, he stepped towards you. Your hair was done into a herringbone braid, scattered strands framing your face. He raised one hand bring it to your face, brushing some hair behind your ear before settling on your cheek. Pulling you towards him, he pressed his lips to your forehead. A soft touch that ended too soon.

Turning around Taehyung help the door open for you and waited while you locked it. Afterwards grabbing your hand and pulling you to the black Audi in the gateway. You shielded your face with your purse.

He opened the passenger door for you before sitting down behind you. The heat of the car was comfortable, and you welcomed it. A sudden hand landing on your thigh pulled your attention towards the driver.

Yoongi was sitting there in his suit, the buttons of the jacket undone. His black hair was falling into his eyes.

Gingerly you raised your hand, pushing it away so you could see his eyes clearly. A short moment before he refocused his gaze on the road and started driving. Hoseok’s Hyundai behind you following. He must be driving with Jimin, Jin and Jungkook. Namjoon had to be at the venue already.

None of you said a word during the drive. The tension in the air almost to thick to breath. Aware of your destination and the act you were about to witness, none of you were in the mood for chitchat.

Thoughts of thankfulness entered your mind, relived that it wasn’t one of your packmates this was happening to. At least not yet. You and Jimin weren’t out of the danger zone yet.

The same thoughts must’ve run through Yoongi’s head every once in a while, his hand tightening its grip, breath exhaling a little harsher.

Once you arrived at the city centre and parked the car you met up with the others. Three big black -fitting the occasions of course- umbrellas where distributed and you formed pairs. The three youngest grabbed one while you joined Jin beneath his. Yoongi and Hoseok sharing the last one.

You hooked your hand around Jin’s arm, which was holding the umbrella, telling him to inform you if he wanted to switch. He answered with a slight smile and a tilt of his head.

All of the boys were wearing suits in different shades of black. While Yoongi, Jimin, Jungkook and Jin’s was a deep coal, Hoseok and Tae’s was more of a dark grey.

The seven of you stared walking in the direction of the centre of the court that was found in the middle of your city. It was often used for festivals or your annual Christmas market.

Today the occasion wasn’t as joyful. A wooden stage was built in the mid of the place. A single metal ring screwed into the floor for the restrains.

A little group of around twenty people had gathered before the stage. Only the acquaintance, friends and family were aloud to attend. The others had a free day to spend at home and mourn the loss with their families.

You and the boys were only required to attend because of your association with Namjoon. Considering you were forming the pack of the future pack alpha; you were requested to attend to all formal events – including today.

The leading masters were already gathered on the left side of the stage, Namjoon and his parents on the right.

It was custom that the pack alpha did the act, a sign of respect and responsibility.

Back in the days the execution was done by beheading. A bloody act that scared many, at least that is what your parents told you. In your lifetime there were two executions so far and you only attended one. It was your cousin’s.

You were eleven at the time and terrified for what you were about to witness. Namjoon was the only one who had been aloud to attend and after requesting it, he had been aloud to stand next to you while it had happened. An arm around your shoulder, holding you steady while tears were silently streaming down your face.

Your cousin had been begging for mercy the second he was brought from the building. Asking his parents for help while trying to fight against the restraints.

At the last second Namjoon had turned your head around, burring it in his shoulder. His instincts to protect you stronger than his sense for respect for the dying wolf. Trying to spear you from the gruesome sight.

But he couldn’t keep the ringing of the bullet firing away. The sound integrating itself in your brain. It was also the thing that woke you hours later, when you were laying in your nest. Hoseok warming your back while Jimin held your head to his chest. You had barely made it to the bathroom before your scarce dinner came back out.

The sound of the shot was still ringing in your ears as you made eye contact with your alpha. Just form one look you knew he was thinking of the same thing. Even from the distance you were able to see the clenching of his jaw, hands forming tight fists, trying to calm himself down instead of grabbing you and bringing you far away form this place.

Trying to tell him with your eyes that you were alright, you were happy when you saw a little of the tension leaving his shoulders.

The sound of shackles is what drew your attention to the back of the stage where an eighteen-year-old man was standing with his hands pound in front of him. He was wearing a white pair on linen trousers and a lose shirt in the same colour. Barefoot he walked to the front of the stage, where he kneeled on the woold.

His cuffs were connected with the metal ring between his legs.

His calmness surprised you. While your cousin’s screams were heard through multiple streets of the silent city, this man didn’t open his mouth once.

A woman in the front row fell to her knees crying; begging Namjoon’s mother not to do this. A soft murmur went through the rows of people, sympathy heavy in the air.

Your eyes turned to your right; Jungkook was holding both Tae and Jimin in his arms the two talking silently with each other. On your other side, Yoongi and Hoseok were holding hands; both of their faces expressionless. Masques which they knew well how to apply.

Looking up, you looked at your oldest mate. Seokjin wasn’t the emotionless, stoic typ. He always shone with brightness, filling every room with laughter and happiness. So, it always surprised you when you saw him step into his role as elder. Protective wolf standing amidst his mates, being their rock in the surf.

The voice of your pack alpha is what drew your attention back to the stage.

Namjoon’s mother was a beautiful woman. She wore age like a price not a weakness or shame. Her hair was kept short and in its natural dark brown. Piercing eyes and hard facial expressions. The strong alpha you all needed.

“Welcome, my wolfs. Today, we gather to end this wolf’s life. A tragic matter, even if it is gracious. It always pains us, when we have to say goodbye to one of our own, but we will continue to honour them in our hearts. Their sacrifice for our pack will never be forgotten. Farewell, brother”

With those final words she pulled the gun form her holster and aimed it at the mans occiput.

That is when your eyes connected. Yours and the wolfs, whose life was going to end in mere seconds. Strangers connected during his final moments. The pain conveyed in his eyes, bore itself through your body. Like a stab wound it tore open your heart, stuffing it with freezing fear.

A silent gasp left your lips as the shot rang through the air.

And just like that the connection was broken. Seconds, which will tie you together forever, hunt you forever.

Namjoon’s scent is what pulled you out of your frozen state. He stood in front of you, barely fitting beneath the umbrella while he talked to Jin.

At once, everything hit you. The overwhelming feeling of having your mates close, the cold from the depressing weather, the stench of blood in the air.

A presence behind you told you that Hoseok and Yoongi had joined your trio, talking silently with Namjoon and Jin. A warm hand holding on to yours – Yoongi. Looking past the gap between your alpha and your oldest, your eyes connected with Jimin’s.

A sadness dancing like soft waves in his eyes. An emotion you’re sure you mirrored. Awareness slipping into both of your bones and settling their like ice. The knowledge that soon, the both of you could be cuffed to that stage; murdered in front of your families.

You could see it clearly: Jin desperately trying to hold on to a sobbing Jungkook and Taehyung, who would be screaming for this to be stopped. Begging for people to help them. Yoongi, head hanging low, nails buried into his palms. Hobi would probably try to fight his way though the crowed, his father having to order for him to be restrained, maybe even led away, while he would threaten to kill them all. And then there would be Namjoon, his duty as the pack alpha’s son heavy on his shoulders and in conflict with his urge to protect you. Tearing him apart from the inside, not knowing what to do, while he watched his mother walk towards the both of you. Preparing to make his choice: watching his mates be killed, or fight his family and pack, to be killed with you.

A hand on Jimin’s cheek pulled him away, breaking your connection. Taehyung leaned his forehead against Jimin’s. Crying silently while he clutched the front of Jimin’s shirt. The same thoughts must have run through his head.

Closing your eyes, you tried to steady yourself. Feeling the violent breeze on your exposed skin, your tried to calm down your racing hearts. Leaning into Jin, burring your face in his arm while clutching Yoongi’s hand tighter.

This will not be Jimin’s and your future. The both of you will not end up here with a bullet hole in your head. The others will not have to mourn your death or commit treason. The both of you will shift. You will prove yourselves worthy of being part of the pack, wolves favoured by the moon.

Opening your eyes, you created a new connection. Namjoon’s mother standing among the crowd, her eyes holding the same harsh edge they always did. And without exchanging a sentence or posing a question you knew, she hoped for another outcome.
