Fated to keep dying again and again, they made a promise to help eachother, a deal, no more than that.

Hand in unlovable hand, both with the one behind crossing fingers.
They never planned on fulfilling their end.
(This was surprisingly high effort, it's only somewhat related to the prompt though. In my defense I was listening to No Children by The Mountain Goats while making this.)
