"I don't care how the fuck you do it, I just need it done! Bunch of incompetent idiots- have you ever landed a single fucking hit in your pathetic fucking lives? Fuck you, fuck Dean, call Jones in on it if you have to. Don't just fucking stand there, for Christ's sake- I said, get to fucking work!"
Standing before the giant doors to your daddy's office with your gaze glued down on your shoes, you did your best to gulp down the tears prickling at your eyes. You hated hearing him like this, and usually he made sure you were well out of earshot before going off on the men who so often managed to frustrate him. But this was one of those rare times when he wasn't aware of your presence lingering just beyond the thick oak doors; while many rooms in the mansion had fully soundproofed walls, the office unfortunately wasn't one of them.
When you heard several sets of footsteps approaching, you stepped off to the side, keeping your head low as the doors swung open and the group of four men exited the room. Glancing over at you, one of them paused, turning back towards the open doorway. "Sir," the agent addressed cautiously, "the girl has returned from her walk."
After a moment's pause, Lloyd offered a response from inside the room. His tone was still firm, but much less demeaning than before as he ordered, "Send her in."
Nodding at you, the man in the black suit ushered you in, closing the door behind you once you had fully entered the room. Unable to lift your gaze, still trembling from before, you sucked in a shaky breath. Though you couldn't see him, Lloyd had entirely softened before you, his brow raising in gentle concern as he confirmed his suspicions: you had heard. Now damage control was in order.
"Mon petit amour," the man crooned smoothly, his heart clenching in his chest as he noticed your slight flinch at his voice. "My little angel, come here, sweetheart. How was your walk?"
Bottom lip wobbling terribly, you tried to will yourself forward, but to your dismay you found yourself frozen in place, as if your feet were glued to the floor. Not wanting to disobey your daddy by not coming when called, your heart only began pounding harder in your chest. Recognizing your apprehension immediately, Lloyd tried to coax you, "It's okay, little one. You're okay; did something happen, pretty girl?"
Small hands fiddling with the lace at the end of your skirt, you sniffled, your words coming out shakily as you did your best to speak loud enough, "Just... got back early, D-Daddy. Started to rain and... was waiting o-outside your..."
Nodding with an understanding look, the man listened to you patiently. "I see, sweetheart. You heard Daddy, then? Heard him talking with his men?"
Knees trembling beneath you, you nodded carefully, praying your answer wouldn't anger your daddy. And as he watched you cowering before him, he couldn't be further from the point of anger; he was only full of worry, full of guilt for frightening you so terribly. Rising up slowly from his chair, he soothed, "Daddy's sorry, baby. Know it's so scary for a little girl to hear such things. But Daddy would never talk that way with you, angel." Taking his time as he made his way over to you, the man settled down a few feet away on his knees, pausing as you stepped back instinctively. "Oh, my poor, sweet girl. Shhh," he hummed softly, a tentative hand coming up to rub against your upper arm gently.
Blinking back tears, it took everything in you not to turn and run. "P-please," you whimpered as you brought a hand up to chew on your knuckle anxiously, a nervous habit you had that your daddy couldn't seem to shake you of, despite his best efforts.
"Hey- no, baby. No chewing," Lloyd reminded you carefully, his own hand coming up to take yours from your mouth, gently holding it as he brushed over its back with his thumb. "Don't need to say please, my love. Daddy will be soft with you, always soft for my baby. How about you and I go spend some time together upstairs, hm? Are you tired from your walk, sweetheart?"
Bringing your free hand up to rub at your eyes, your bottom lip puffed out slightly as you nodded. Humming knowingly, Lloyd smiled. "Can snuggle up with all your pillows and blankies in bed- how's that sound, sweet girl?"
"N-no more yelling?" you asked warily, big pleading eyes finally coming up to meet those of the man before you.
Heart swelling at the sight of you, so pure and precious as you begged for his tenderness, Lloyd nodded as he brushed your hair back behind your ear, pinky linking with yours as he still held your hand lovingly. "No more yelling, princess. Just soft, sweet voices for baby. And lots of snuggles, too."
Feeling yourself slip further and further down into a tiny frame of mind as your daddy spoke to you, the sudden urge to be held washed over you as you looked at the large man crouched down before you. Recognizing the look in your eyes, Lloyd didn't need any further instruction before reaching out to wrap you up in his embrace, rising to his feet as he held you close and comfortably. As you rested your head on his shoulder, body falling limp against his sturdy hold, he let out a relieved sigh as he ran his fingers over your hair. "There's my girl. Daddy's got you, sweetheart. You just close those pretty eyes, don't have to worry about a thing." Eyelids drooping at his words, you hummed softly in response against his shoulder.
You thumped lightly against him as he began making his way out of the office, still murmuring softly to you all the way up the stairs, down the hall, and into your bedroom. Once the doors had closed behind the two of you, you opened your eyes again, though just barely, watching as he carried you over to the oversized bed on the far wall of the room. Pulling back the heaps of fluffy white blankets and bedding, Lloyd rested you down as gently as he could on your back with your head landing on a pillow, standing over you a moment longer as he carefully undid your shoes. Slipping in and out of moments of sleep, you huffed and hummed sweetly, your darling little noises bringing the softest of smiles to your daddy's face as he kicked off his own shoes before climbing up to join you. Pulling the covers back over the two of you, Lloyd gathered you up in his arms, tucking your head delicately in the crook of his neck as his large hands encompassed you in gentle strokes. Sighing again, he leaned down, planting a kiss in your hair.
Eyes opening briefly to look up at him, you snuck in a kiss on his chin as he smiled lovingly at you. "Close your eyes, little love. Daddy's right here."
