SO THESE TWO.
THEY ARE IDIOTS IN (PLATONIC) LOVE YOUR HONOR
i do not know why but every time i think about them i just go "these two would sooooooo be besties if they were on the same team and able to hang out for more than an occasional game"
like they both give off gremlin rage vibes both on and off the court. it's just that marcus is way more highkey about his vibes. immediately confronts whoever's trying to talk shit about the guy he's known since generic bucks-celtics game #9.
thanasis does have his moments sometimes tho. like he will stare motherfuckingly at anyone trying to mess with marcus as if they were messing with giannis. except instead of a giant happy (if intimidating) boi, they are dealing with a short feral boi that would bite you immediately
and that's if thanasis doesn't bite them first. or if they both bite at the same time
they would literally foul each other out in like a minute. unstoppable force vs (sometimes) immovable object type beat. and they will laugh on the bench about it for the rest of the game.
they went out for snacks at some point after generic bucks-celtics game #13. braided each other's hair in a shoddy hotel room from a midnight stroll. marcus making funny poses while they take pictures of each other. thanasis munching on marcus' braids in his sleep like they're fuzzy celery sticks.
and marcus is just. resigned to his fate because he really doesn't wanna wake him up in the middle of the night. marcus gets really cranky and moody in the morning without enough sleep but thanasis will probably fucking explode on him if he doesn't get enough sleep. and marcus does Not wanna deal with That
but he makes sure he will munch on thanni's hair back the first chance he gets. payback for his crimes. you bite my braids, i will bite that burnt cauliflower looking ass hair of yours
and those vibes.... their combined aura...... it's so strong that friends and family and teammates around them just decide "fuck it. let them be. we can't really fight this" lmao
marcus calling thanasis one random late night in some random memphis restaurant. immediately starts ranting about how the food is trash but that's why he loves it and keeps coming back. tells him to meet him there when the bucks come to play.
and thanni just. listens. he's on the bed and needs to crash (not like it's not normal. he def woke up to giannis eating oreos at 3am at least once). but he's not hanging up 'cause lowkey marcus might actually be on to something here lmao
