Maria Really Doesn't Like Him - Tumblr Posts

By the time Maria finished her book, her meal was finished and she learnt nothing new. Well, except that Sir Velstadt and Kasimir were totally banging later and that she should stay outside for the rest of the night. Thank goodness that she was a pyromancer. Getting up and stretching, she gave a sigh of relief at the satisfying crack from her back. Very satisfying.

“I’m gonna call it a night. Reading wise.” She called out walking over to a bookshelf but this time with a plan.

“Amon, here boy.” She called to the spirit, waiting for him patiently. Amon let out an annoyed huff from being forced to move, but did as she asked and stood next to her. Lifting one leg up, she gingerly placed her foot on his back, the other following when Amon didn’t react. Now at the appropriate height, Maria put the book in its proper place. Hopping off of Amon, she gave him a large beaming smile.

“Good boy! You’re getting a treat if I find anymore dried mangoes. Have fun studying, Your Highness!” She said, waving at Kasimir as she walked out the door, only to freeze and peek back in with a sly look.

“Oh, and with Velstadt too.” She added, closing the door before he could react. Giggling to herself, she hefted her bag on her shoulders, strolling down the corridor with a grin on her face. Only for that grin to drop when she saw who else was there.

“Ugh, not him again.” She grumbled under her breath, irritably. She honestly decided that she did not like Gotthard, his attitude reminding her of all the annoying boys at school. You know, the one that would argue with a teacher for the whole class period over something minor? That type. Unfortunately for her, there were no other paths except past him.

“If I keep my head down and ignore him, I should breeze right past him with no conversations or problems.” She mumbled to herself in encouragement, grasping her bag straps with her hands as carefully made her way past him.

Almost...there...

Maria only rolled her eyes at the two, softly chuckling underneath her breath. They obviously like each other. Not that she has a problem with it. She would prefer to not put someone through the same complication she and Cassie endured when they became public.

As long as they weren’t embarrassingly loud. She’d rather go to bed tonight without nightmares.

Gotthard leaned up against the wall, his Zweihander strapped to his back. The wanderer scowled: normally his mood wouldn’t go this bad… but gods be damned if the rotten memories of his past don’t make his guts churn with all the disgust in the world.

“You don’t look so good.”

The voice behind him was surprisingly lacking in the smugness he knew so well, though the wanderer didn’t look behind him:

“Looking at him makes me sick.” The knight scowled, huffing with his arms crossed over his wall. Tyraemon was nowhere near him, otherwise he would have known.
