The Bets Are On

You didn't always get dragged along on tours with Marvus, preferring to stay away from the sheer chaos of the limelight. It wasn't that you hated it but you certainly weren't a big fan of having Marvus within reach and yet still not being able to see him. The packed schedule that came with his tours were a drag and you weren't even bound by them. But Ourani and Revell had both asked you to be there, it was important that Marvus and his band were seen in a positive light while on an Earth bound tour. A surprising side effect of the current alliance between the two was the fact bands were allowed to perform on both planets for the first time. It was an opportunity that no one in the entertainment industry could pass up on- not even Marvus. Which was why you were there- they were trying to involve as many humans as possible as a show of good faith. Revell had been the most excited about it as the band's human sensitivity trainer. The fact he wasn't even human in the first place was both amusing and a glaring sign of Alternia's many problems. It'd be insulting if Revell wasn't so serious about his job, often consulting as many humans as he possibly could over the most minute detail and advocating for an actual human to do the training instead of himself. Unfortunately his hands were tied on that front.

Lost in your own thoughts you nearly fell off the chair you were sitting in when Ourani slammed the door to the break room open looking frazzled. His usually slightly wrinkled but tidy clothes were a wreck- tie askew and shirt buttoned wrong with his hair sticking up at odd angles. He looked like he'd survived a mob. "Thaaaat's it! I caaaan't do this aaaanymore! Maaaarvus is driving me to drink!" He shrieked the second the door swung closed behind him. You winced slightly and gave him a sympathetic smile.

"How I've laaaasted this long is aaaa daaaamn mystery!" He continued tossing his clipboard onto the table. You could only imagine what he'd been having to deal with.

"What did he do this time?"

"Whaaaat did he do this time? This time? Its less whaaaat he’s done aaaand more whaaaat he’s going to do! He purposely faaaailed every single humaaaan sensitivity course he waaaas instructed to taaaake! Do you haaaave aaaany ideaaaa how haaaard it waaaas to even get him to those courses? Its like trying to herd feraaaal purr-beaaaasts!” He all but wailed sinking down into the chair opposite from you. It creaked under his weight- built more for humans than adult trolls- and you feared it might collapse under the poor rust blood. The last thing he needed to happen when he was already this close to a break down.

“I know I talk a lot of shit about Marvus but he can’t be that bad.”

Those were clearly the wrong words to say to Marvus’ top personal assistant as Ourani looked at you with an expression bordering on murderous and manic.

“Oh, you think so huh? You think you caaaan haaaandle being Maaaarvus’ Personaaaal Aaaasistaaaant? You think you can do better thaaaan I caaaan? Fine! Why don’t you do my job todaaaay then? He’s got aaaa full schedule aaaand haaaas aaaalreaaaady shown signs of trying to blow it aaaall off!”

“Uh-,”

“Even better ideaaaa! We’ll maaaake aaaa bet out of it. If you caaaan get Maaaarvus to staaaay on traaaack I’ll paaaay some of thaaaat debt you owe to Gorjek.”

“Wh-,”

“Aaaand if you lose? I’ll finaaaally quit!” He was grinning wildly now, eyes bright with glee at the thought of quitting.

“How about if I win you just schedule Marvus a little down time?” You offered instead. Trying to hopefully keep him from losing it further.

“Fine.” He replied looking slightly less like he might jump over the table and throttle you or the next person to walk into the break room. With a more steadying breath Ourani extended his hand to shake on the bet and you gladly took it. Anything to keep him from going full American Psycho on everyone there. You both nearly lept out of your skins when his phone went off to let him know his short break was over. "How about that bet starts now and you go home to get some actual sleep?" You offered, Ourani nodded vigorously to that already shoving his clipboard into your hands. He couldn't seem to get out of there fast enough it seemed. You hoped he'd get some actual rest, the poor guy was one of the most overworked people on the job. Glancing down at the clipboard you winced. Ourani really wasn’t kidding when he said Marvus had a full schedule, looks like you could kiss any other plans you had today goodbye. Straightening out your clothes you went to go find Marvus- wherever he could have gotten. Most likely he wouldn’t be trying to hide from you. He’d be expecting Ourani to be the one trying to hunt him down.

You’d been wandering for five minutes when you finally found him. He was actually where he was supposed to be- chatting with his bandmates who immediately perked up to see you.

“Oh shit! Look who it is.”

“Hey guys, mind if I steal Marvus away for a second?” You asked cheerfully. His bandmates had a soft spot for you and it was easy to get them to agree. Their soft spot would make this bet a little easier to win, hopefully.

“Whatchu need babes?” Marvus asked once the two of you had gotten far enough away. You smiled up at him warmly. "Well, first off-," You grabbed the sides of his purple jacket to pull him down closer to your height, "I'd like a kiss." "Shit babe, all you had ta do was ask." He grinned leaning into you. His arm carefully wrapped around your waist as he tilted your chin up to get better access. You huffed a small laugh as he gave your lip a small nip before kissing you. Letting your eyes close for a brief moment to fully enjoy the kiss you cupped his jaw with your hands before regretfully having to pull back- Marvus attempting to follow you. "Secondly," You murmured interrupted by another brief kiss, "You have a meeting in two minutes." "What." You grinned at his flat off guard tone. Not being able to help yourself as you giggled. "I have your entire schedule for the day." "No."

"Mm, yes."

"Babe-,"

"You also have a meeting with Revell to talk about those courses you flunked out of."

"How-,"

"Ourani went home for the day, I'm gonna be your PA so he can actually get some sleep."

"Oh?"

"Don't get any ideas." You interrupted already knowing where his mind was going, "I'm going to make sure you get through your entire schedule whether you like it or not."

"C'mon, just give me an hour." "I might consider it-," He grinned, "After we get through your schedule."

Marvus pouted.

“Work Marvus. Focus on work.”

“Aww, but you be lookin’ so cute when you take charge.”

“And you’ll be a lot more appealing when you actually do your job.”

“Damn.” He muttered under his breath already standing back up to his full height. “Alright baby, guess we cans go to this meeting.”

It looked, at least for the moment, you might actually win this bet.

Then again, you had yet to get him to go to his meeting with Revell. For some reason those two couldn’t stand each other- you’d zoned out briefly during one of his rants only catching something vague about their ancestors that only confused you more. Revell was actually a kind troll though his threshold for what he dubbed ‘highblood nonsense’ was practically nonexistent. He seemed rather fascinated by human culture, often asking you questions on things he didn’t quite understand- some of his questions not even you could answer with any degree of accuracy. But, Marvus and him were known for their fights. Not even in the pitch leaning way either. You had yet to witness their fights but Ourani had talked about them looking pale and shaky- considering the fact that he’d been witness to the usual Alternian concert slaughter fests that happened with Marvus you had to admit you were afraid to see what could shake him like that. If Marvus' PR team was surprised to see him actually at the meeting they didn't say, though they seemed happy to see you with him. Taking your seat next to Marvus you glanced down at the schedule again. He had this meeting, his meeting with Revel, an autograph signing, and then a meeting with a lesser known human band you hadn't even heard of. Knowing Marvus all of these would be a few hours each.

“You bein’ awfully quiet over there.” Marvus murmured to you while his PR team bickered. You glanced up from the clipboard you’d been staring a hole through to give him a flat look. Better to not put him on edge.

“Just trying to figure out how to get you from point A to point B.”

“C’mon baby I ain’t that bad.”

“Ourani would beg to differ.”

“Then he can fuckin’ beg.”

You smacked his arm earning a small chuckle as he turned back to the meeting.

This was going to be a very long day.

Let's Link

The bass was pounding hard enough you couldn’t tell where the music ended and your pulse began. Sandwiched between Marvus and a wall you could hear the party in full swing not even a scant few feet from the hallway the two of you were hidden in. Let’s Link still blaring through the speakers as Marvus’ face dipped lower. You bit your fist to stifle the frankly embarrassing moan that wanted to slip out. It was an entirely inappropriate time to be grinding against each other like horny teenagers when he had to be out on stage in just a scant few minutes but damn if it didn’t just make the entire situation that much hotter. You tightened your legs around his waist causing him to hiss against your jugular, his claws dug furrows into the wall and you hoped no one would notice that until the both of you were long gone from the party.

“Damn it, if this wasn’t a fuckin gig I swear-,” He snarled his own moan cutting him off as you pulled him in closer by his horns. His lips were quick to find yours hot and heavy as you both panted and moaned. He licked along your bottom lip before pressing in and soon the music was drowned out as the two of you continued to make out. You should have been trying to calm down, trying to pretend that you both weren’t horny and far too close to the edge. Every roll of his hips against yours, every nip and kiss, the iron grip he had on your hip to drag you closer as his other hand clawed at the wall- you were so close it was nearing painful.

“Aaaaaaannnnnnddddd lets hear it for our next act: MARVUS XOLOTO!!!”

“Fuck!” You snapped as the announcer called for him. Marvus growled and bared his teeth, eyes scarlet with rage at being interrupted.

“When this party is over we’re finishing what we started.” He hissed in your ear before pulling away. You let out a small whine as all the friction was taken away from you. The crowd was cheering wildly as he set you down on the ground again- you had to grab the wall to stay standing, your legs shaky from nearly getting to get off. He was lucky to be wearing plain black pants even though they were skin tight, no doubt there would have been an obvious stain had he been wearing his normal ones. He leaned down for one more lingering kiss before finally heading towards the stage. You swore yet again slamming your fist into the wall as you slid down to sit. The party couldn’t be over soon enough.

Hi there! I recently read one of your marvus fics and I loved how sweet and smothering you wrote him ^^ I was wondering if those requests are still open? If so could I request a marvus x Reader who just had a nightmare and marvus is comforting them? :0

Requests will always be open unless stated in my bio! But I've never gotten enough requests to warrant closing my inbox yet lol. This gave me so many ideas and ended up so much sappier than intended! I too want a big buff clown to comfort me from a nightmare, I think it'd be good for everyone XD

But I apologize it's taken me so long to get this done! So many ideas I didn't know what to choose and then life does what life does best. But here it is! Thank you so much for the request! I hope it meets your satisfaction and if not feel free to pop back in and request a different take on it!

Nightmares Marvus x Reader

Heart trying to escape out of your throat you sat up in your bed breathing hard. For a moment you could still hear the sounds of the alarms on your little rocket ship blaring in alert as you crashed into Alternia’s surface. But as you began to wake more you realized you were safe- Alternia long behind you. Trembling from adrenaline you shakily threw off your blankets and slipped out of bed. Your legs felt weak, fawn-like as you wandered out of Marvus’ guest room. For the life of you, you couldn’t figure out what had triggered the nightmare. It had been years since that night, you weren’t even on Alternia anymore. Trying to calm yourself you stumbled into the kitchen and took a seat at the island. It was nothing. Nothing at all. You had experienced much worse than the shuttle crash since then and came out on the other side. Out of all the nightmares you had had since then it baffled and frustrated you that the crash was the most frequent of all. Behind you was the shuffle of feet and you nearly jumped out of your skin as you turned to find Marvus shuffling into the kitchen.

“Hey lil buddy was up?” He asked tiredly, voice gravelly from sleep. Guilt over waking him nearly choked you.

“I didn’t mean to wake you.” You spoke softly.

“Nah, don’ worry bout it. What’s wrong? Y’look like you seen some shit.”

“It was just an old nightmare. Nothing I can’t handle.”

That just made Marvus frown as he came to sit beside you, dragging his stool close enough your knees brushed.

“Wanna talk bout it?”

“Not… Not really.”

Marvus sighed, reaching out to lay his hand on your leg in a soothing gesture. His thumb rubbed at the exposed skin, his cold hands remarkably grounding as you fought down the shivers of phantom panic.

“I know I ain’t yo diamond or nothin’ but you do be knowin’ I still care bout you right?”

“Of course.”

“But you still don’ wanna talk bout it.”

“Its an old nightmare Marvus, comes back up every once in awhile. But its over now. That’s what matters.”

“Still hurtin’ you somethin’ fierce though.”

“Marvus.” You sighed. He glanced away with a clear scowl before shaking his head.

“I don’ like seein’ you this worked up. ‘Specially when there ain’t a damn thing to do bout it.”

“I know. I’m sorry for waking you.”

“Don’t.” He spoke voice surprisingly firm, you glanced up at him to find him staring at you intently, almost angrily, “Don’t apologize. I don like the thought of you jus’ hidin’ away til your thinkpan’s on straight. Ain’t right.”

“People have nightmares all the time.”

“Yeah? Well you ain’t jus’ people to me.”

You could feel the tears burning at your eyes, the stress of your nightmare rearing its ugly head. For a brief moment it was as if the deafening screech of metal was all around you again. Taking a deep breath you placed your hand on top of his.

“Thanks Marvus.”

His other hand came up to carefully wipe the tears from your eyes. Movements gentle as his thumb caressed your cheek.

“What can I do?” He asked after a moment when the tears just kept coming.

“I don’t…” More tears welled in your eyes blurring his face, “I don’t know.”

What a terrifying thought. The realization you didn’t know what would make you feel better at all. His hand brushed across your cheek again, then past it until he was carefully cupping the back of your head. He tilted you forwards as he leaned down until your foreheads were touching.

“That’s okay. Lemme jus’ take care of ya.” He spoke, voice soft. He tilted away from you to place a kiss to your scalp. “Don’ worry bout nothin’.”

A shuddering breath left you as he deftly moved to lift you into his arms, wrapping your arms around his neck you buried your head in his shoulder. Tears were burning at your eyes, trailing down your cheeks more insistent than before as you wrapped your legs around his legs.

“I’ve got you. Ain’t nothin’ gon’ get you tonight, babe.” Claws rubbing soothingly up and down your back you allowed yourself to cry openly. Sobbing without restraint into his shoulder as he carried you back to bed. He wouldn’t shush you, the comfort he offered was different than what Polypa offered as your moirail. But it was more than you expected to receive and genuine. So very genuine. You knew he’d cleave the world in two if you asked and it terrified you as much as it soothed you.

But tonight you could admit that it was what you needed. To know you were safe, to know you were loved, it was enough.

So for personal reference seeing how popular Lucky Shot https://www.tumblr.com/morsartis/681458733944061952/lucky-shot?source=share

Is does anyone want me to continue it? I have some ideas but I'm also open to suggestions. Honestly I'm pleasantly surprised by how popular it's gotten! It's given me a few ideas for some different pairings using the same premise. But that's another thing entirely lol. Just super curious if people feel it's a better stand alone fic or if people want a continuation.

Kiss The Girl

Marvus x fem!Reader

.

Fish darted through the tanks in brilliant colors, the cooler lighting highlighting the brilliance of their scales. All around you were families and couples enjoying their own outings. Despite this, the aquarium was remarkably slow today. What little crowds that managed to form always dispersed as if to mimic the schools of aquatic life you’d all come to see. Leaving you and Marvus in your own personal bubble. You had wandered into a more secluded indoor section of the aquarium to escape the hot sun, this one boasting small Alternian fish with iridescent white scales and vivid violet eyes. You knew it must have cost the aquarium a fortune to get them- or maybe a violetblood had been taken with the fanciful notion of the aquarium and donated the fish for their own amusement. It was always hard to tell. Either way you watched as the fish swam lazily through the water with their spiny barbs and fancy flared fins. Like a mix between a betta fish and a catfish. Beside you Marvus chuckled.

“That one looks like that lil’ violet that you been bringin’ ‘round.” He pointed to a fish near the bottom corner that was much smaller than the rest- and seemed to be sulking grumpily as it watched the others swim around. You stifled a laugh. It did look like Eridan oddly enough.

“That’s rude Marvus.” You couldn’t keep the humor out of your voice despite trying to scold your matesprite.

“Am I wrong?” He asked sardonically as he glanced down at you lazily. This time you couldn’t help the snort that left you.

“Eridan’s a wriggler, play nice.”

“Sure. Soon as he stops eyein’ you like a piece a fresh grubloaf.”

“Oh please. He’s just happy to have a friend. May I remind you how Zebruh gets?”

“I could still cull him if you want lil mama. Ain’t no big thing.”

“You know I don’t want you killing people on my behalf.”

“Worth a shot.” He teased leaning down to steal a quick kiss. Leaning into the kiss you rolled your eyes at his antics. Even so, you couldn’t help but smile at him when the two of you pulled away.

“Culling is illegal here on Earth, Dear.” You reminded him. Marvus gave you an exaggerated pout.

“I still say we should do it anyway.”

“No.” You replied bluntly, already walking away. Marvus snickered in amusement, his long legs catching up to you instantly as he placed a chilled hand on your shoulder and gently guided you more firmly to his side. The two of you made an odd pair, you’d admit. Especially to the people in the mostly empty aquarium. One human girl in her pale sundress and her juggalo troll companion in the most form fitting t-shirt he could get his hands on and an absolutely gaudy pair of skinny jeans. Still, it was nice to have a normal date. It’d been so long since either of you had had the time to spend together outside of stolen moments after Marvus’ concerts. Having this day just to be normal and in love was something you’d be riding the high of for weeks. Months even.

“Is that a cafe?” Marvus asked in confusion pointing at a cluster of tacky straw roofed “hut” shaped tables tucked near a tropical themed alcove.

“Looks like it.” You snorted in amusement.

“That is the tackiest thing I’ve ever seen.” Marvus told you as the two of you drew closer.

“Oh its horrible.” You agreed, entertainment thick in your tone.

“Who told them this was okay?”

“Not a clue.” “Even the menu items are tacky.”

“They are.”

“I want pictures.”

The two of you shared a look before dissolving into laughter. At least this way you’d both have something to eat. Not a bad way to end a date really.

Lucky Shot Part 2

His claws tapped a restless rhythm along the table, purple eyes flicking over towards the door to the guest room he’d had specifically refurbished for his little alien. They were sleeping, still under the effects of his chucklevoodoos, oblivious to the rage Marvus was barely restraining. He’d tossed his blood soaked jacket into the wash the sounds of his first two victims screams still ringing like a pretty chorus in his ears.

But that still left the last violetblood.

His insignia inlaid in the obnoxiously gold harpoon. A perfect target printed on his back. It was better than anything Marvus could have asked for.

“Why did you use your voodoo on them?” Polypa asked as she exited the guest room, her eyes narrowed accusingly.

“You know how lil mama be actin. If I didn’t they’d be up tryna walk it off.” He replied staring her down. Polypa stared back, the two of them not backing down as they locked eyes.

“Don’t do it again.” Polypa finally responded as they both broke eye contact. Marvus shrugged it off.

“Is what it is.” He replied before motioning to the harpoon, “This was stickin’ out they shoulder. Figured you should help a mofo out with the last one if you catch my drift.”

“Where are they now?” She asked, sliding into the seat opposite from him.Her olive eyes were narrowed in contempt as she observed the harpoon with an assassin’s keen glare. Marvus’ glare curled sharp and twisted in reply.

“They jus’ a lil lamb for the slaughter.” He hummed, “Don’ even know we comin’. The violet blood usually hangs out at the docks.”

Polypa gave a grim little smirk in response.

“Then lets pay our target a little visit.”

Your head felt like cotton as your conscious struggled to the surface, blearily opening your eyes you once more found yourself waking in Marvus’ guest room. Unfortunately, everything still ached fiercely when you awoke this time as well. Groaning groggily you slowly forced yourself to gingerly wiggle into an upright position against the frankly ridiculous amount of fluffy pillows. Who needed this many pillows? It was like a weird version of princess and the pea. Glancing around the empty room, your stomach sank at the thought that Marvus had gone to hunt down the perpetrators. Worry for your friends overrode everything else as you attempted to reach for the blankets to toss them off only to give a hoarse and breathless shout of pain as hot agony pulsated from your shoulder at the gesture. It knocked the wind from your lungs as you wheezed, eyes wide and teary. With a slam the guest room door banged off the wall with the force it was opened and there she stood in all her olive glory.

“You’re awake!” Polypa shouted, rushing to your side in an instant. Her comforting smell of popcorn and metal filled your senses as she gingerly wrapped her arms around you.

“What are you doing here?” You croaked, throat dry and scratchy. Polypa grabbed the glass of water by your bedside and pressed it to your lips.

“Drink slowly,” She commanded, “Marvus called me as soon as he found you.”

Her worried gaze warmed you as you greedily gulped down the ice cold water. Breathing heavily as she pulled the cup from your lips you gave her a small smile.

“He did?”

“He did.” She confirmed, taking a moment to fuss with the bandages on your face.

“Where’d he go anyways?” You asked.

“Just to toss some of his things into the wash.” She replied, her fingers trailed featherlight against your face and you leaned into the soothing touch. Pressing her head to yours Polypa sighed in relief to see you in recovery. “Don’t scare me like that again. I don’t know what I’d do if-,” Her voice choked off before she could even finish saying it and you shushed her gently as you pressed your forehead back against hers soothingly.

“I’m here.” You murmured, “I survived, its okay. Deep breaths Polypa.”

She sucked in a shuddering breath and wrapped her arms back around you, careful to avoid jostling your injured shoulder. With a heavy and grateful sigh you leaned into the comfort of her hold and closed your eyes.

“I thought I lost you.” She croaked, voice raw with emotion.

“I’m right here. I promise I’m not going anywhere.”

“You better not, who’s gonna stop Tegiri from insisting we watch Troll Naruto again?”

That dragged a laugh from the both of you.

“We seriously need to find him another anime to obsess over.”

“Yeah.” Polypa buried her face in your chest and you could feel the damp spots begin to form as she cried. Shushing her, you wrapped your uninjured arm around her shoulders and hunched over her in an imitation of a hug, gently swaying side to side as she broke down.

“Hey, hey, its okay. It was just a lucky shot.” You murmured. “Just a lucky shot…”
