There have been whispers of The One’s return. No one knows when or how long it would take. The War with the Machines has raged on for nearly a hundred years and the hope for the Human Race begins to dwindle with each passing year. The Matrix is in its Third Incarnation - the birth of the Modern Era. The Oracle, created to unbalance the work of The Architect, has offered to help build The Matrix where it would be accepted, versus being rejected. But there is always something about 1% and that 1% has given birth to The One, once again. The One is still sleeping, waiting for the day when they will wake up to bring an end to the Machine War. 

This is the tale of The Third One.
