Matsukawa Fluff - Tumblr Posts
You’re walking down the hallway, ready to take the biology test.
Going over your notes that you prepared yourself with two weeks ago, you mumble under your breath, repeating what blood type is compatible with different types and the differences between viruses, bacteria, parasites and fungus.
When you walk past the janitor’s closet, you don’t see a big hand snatching your wrist and pulling you inside.
Screaming in fear, you drop your learning cards and a second hand clamps over your mouth in order to muffle your screaming.
The door slams shut, and your wide eyes find mischievous brown eyes with a teasing smirk, that you know and love.
Taking his hand off of your mouth,
"Issei Matsukawa! You scared the shit out of me!" You whisper-yell at him, calming down your racing heart and breathing.
"I haven’t seen you at lunch, wanted to make sure my girlfriend is still alive." He grins at you while placing his hands on your waist to pull you closer to his chest.
He already has his volleyball uniform on, the turquoise number 2 almost illuminating the dark space.
"I am really sorry, you know I have that test in a little bit and if I fail this one, my mum will kick my ass." You apologize.
"No worries but I know a way you can make it up to me." Issei lifts his eyebrows in a suggestive matter.
When he presses himself closer to you, you can feel his hard-on through his gym shorts.
Giving him a deadpan look, you turn him down.
"Issei, we have like five minutes. And with you it’s never five minutes. And I am not doing this in a closet with you, I have more dignity than that."
"Then about a good luck kiss? A couple for your test and my practice."
You think for a few seconds, giving into your desires.
"Alright, but only five min-" The ravenette interrupts your talking with a harsh kiss that quickly turns wild and passionate.
His big hands wander down to your things, underneath your school uniform and squeezes them twice, an indication for you to jump.
Wrapping your arms around his neck, you told your head to the side to deepen the kiss.
With your tongue sneakily gliding over his lips, he immediately grants you entrance and your tongues begin a war that he wins.
The longer the kiss, the more Issei and you begin to pant and moan.
Tanging your hands in his curly, soft black hair, you tug on it harshly and the Middle Blocker hisses at the sensation and pushes you into the wall.
The school bell rings, signaling that the small break is over and Matsukawa unwillingly parts from you but not fully, until you can still feel his soft lips against your own.
Panting your hands travel from behind his neck to his face, you and the middle blocker still have your eyes closed. The rush of Oxytocin fogging up your brain and the adrenaline rushing through your veins is making your mind race with desire.
"I really should get going, otherwise Mr.Hashita is not going to let me take that test." You whisper, calming down from the passionate kiss you shared with him.
"Yeah, that’d be a real bummer, considering you canceled on me so many times to study for that stupid test." Matsukawa says with a chuckle, pressing one more chaste kiss against your lips and then lets you go.
Opening the door, you fix your hair and top a little bit, trying not to make it too obvious you just had a heavy make-out session with your boyfriend in the janitor’s closet.
Matsukawa doesn’t even bother to fix himself up, in fact, he looks pretty proud to have made out with you with the possibility of getting caught.
"Wipe that satisfied smirk off of your face Issei!" You giggle while shoving him a bit.
He chuckles along with you, picking up your cards that you dropped earlier to hand them back to you.
Thanking him for the gesture, he puts his Aoba Johsai jacket around you, kind of like marking his territory.
As he leans down to give you one last kiss, you’re interrupted by his approaching teammates.
"Did you two just fuck in there?" A familiar voice, that sounds like the Aoba Johsai’s Setter, asks in a disgusted manner.
Squeaking and being startled by the sudden noise, you and Matsukawa turn to see Oikawa, Iwaizumi, Hanamaki and Yahaba with grinning faces staring at the two of you. With the exception of Iwaizumi, who looks like a disappointed parent.
"Really Issei? The janitors’ closet?" Iwaizumi scolds the Middle Blocker with a frown.
But Matsukawa is in such a great mood, he doesn’t care.
"It ain’t my fault that I got game and the rest of you don’t." Matsukawa shrugs and makes his way together with Maki to the gym.
"Listen up you little shithead! I’ll have you know that all the girls in this damn school want me!" Oikawa calls behind the middle blocker.
Ignoring the Setter, Matsukawa continues the path with Maki on his right.
"Did you really just have sex with her in there?" Maki asks intrigued.
"Didn’t have enough time for that. And I never half-ass things. Pretty sure Oikawa would have bust his balls in like two minutes."
Maki laughs at that and both teens make their way to the gym in a great mood, especially Matsukawa seemed to play extremely well that afternoon.
You're taking requests ;) oh hon hon baguette. What about a scenario where Y/N is being plagued by this single mosquito all day and by the end of school they've had enough, determined to finally end it's reign of terror. They see their opportunity when it finally lands, only she doesn't realize it landed on the face of one Matsukawa of the volleyball team (silly Y/N). After her victory dance, they finally figure out that they just slapped their crush. I love you vivi♡
a/n: ok so i changed the prompt a little and I am so sorry this has been in my requests for forever but I just finished it up. i had a ton of fun writing this silly yet cute fic for Matsukawa and it led to even more thoughts of summer camp haikyuu. this is barely beta read so i apologize for any grammar mistakes. i hope you enjoy!

You loved working for the Summer Camp, though the weather was unbearable. The humidity was horrid, you could never cool off, and not to mention the amount of mosquitos. The camp was on the edge of a huge lake, so there were so many different types of bugs. The kids there were super sweet and being their nurse was a blessing and a curse. There always seemed to be a kid from Ultimate Frisbee coming in, either with a bruise forming on their forehead or scrapes on their arms and legs. The kids always seemed to get really into the game, but maybe it was more their Counselor. He wasn’t the most energetic person but he had an aura that drew in the children. It was cute watching the way he interacted with the kids, he seemed to be in his element with them. He was also kind enough to walk them to your office every time they seemed to get injured. The conversations with him were never long but they were comfortable, and it never felt awkward or forced around him. His personality lured you in.
Today seemed to be the worst out of this year at the camp. The humidity was insane and the mosquitos seemed to be out to get you. Being trapped inside of a small room that had little air flow, you left the door open so you had no escape from them. Hearing footsteps you peeked to see a kid who looked no older than 8 followed by Mattsun.
“So what happened this time?”
“They got hit in the head with a frisbee. Wasn’t my fault this time, I promise.”
“I see. Come here hun, let's get some ice on that for you.” You paused walking over to the cooler to grab some ice. “How many times do you come into my office with a kid, Issei?” He shrugged, picking a piece of grass off the stain on his khaki shorts.
“Everyday,” he mumbled, leaning to drop the piece of grass into your trash as opposed to just leaving it on the floor.
“It’s almost like you’re making excuses to see me.” You chuckled, sealing the ziploc bag and handing it to the child. “Keep this on your head, it will help with the swelling hun.” You gave the kid a quick kiss on where he was hit before he put the ice on it. You looked over your shoulder to see his eyes go wide and he started stuttering out a rebuttal. “Oh?” You half grinned, blushing a little yourself. He quickly looked away from you, suddenly becoming very interested in the ice on the small child’s forehead. Issei put his hand on the child’s shoulder and squeezed gently once.
“Let’s get you back out there, champ. See you later!” He waved over his shoulder, the camper leading the way back to the field. You waved back and then proceeded to swat away another bothersome mosquito. You looked at your watch and sighed. Four more hours until you could go home. You rummaged through your desk drawer and pulled out a book that you had brought with you.
You were two chapters in when you heard a soft knock on the door. Raising an eyebrow, you looked up to see Oikawa leaning on your door frame. Oikawa was the archery counselor for the camp that employed you both. You looked at him expectantly after surveying the room to take note of a child that wasn’t there.
“Is there something you need, Tooru?” You placed the bookmark gently inside your novel and laid it on your desk. He walked all the way in to sit on the small cot next to you and looked at you, smiling devilishly. “What?” He chuckled and shook his head.
“You don’t see it, do you?”
“See what?”
“He brings a child with any injury, as minor as it may be, just so he can see you during the day,” he leaned forward, elbows on his knees with his chin resting in his hands.
“He just wants to make sure they’re okay! Head injuries can be very detrimental, Tooru.” You leaned back in your chair and opened your book back up. He patted his knees and sighed before getting up.
“If you say so…” He sang, slipping out the door. You shook your head and went back to reading. The hottest part of the day was over but still the bugs and heat were relentless. It almost seemed that the lake wasn’t providing any cool air for a good breeze on purpose. You stepped out of your office to get some fresh air before you had to get cleaned up and ready to go home. It was starting to cool down finally and when the breeze hit you couldn’t help but close your eyes and relax. Mattsun had seen you out of the corner of his eyes while grabbing his stuff. He couldn’t help but stare at you drinking in the cool air, but looked away quickly before you could notice.
The next day was even hotter and the mosquitoes seemed to be everywhere and more persistent than usual. There had been one in particular who was following you around and would not go away. Oikawa had stopped by again, smiling to himself.
“What’s got you in such a good mood Tooru?” You were fanning yourself and swatting away that stupid mosquito.
“Has your lover boy dropped in yet today?” He leaned against the wall looking out the door like he was waiting for someone to come in.
“No he hasn’t, but maybe he is playing it safe today and no one get hurt.” You swatted away that mosquito once again, finally getting it to fly a little further away from your face. “Also don’t call him lover boy, he just wants to make sure the kids are ok.”
“Whatever you say.” He lifted himself off the wall he was leaning on and started to head to the door. “I have to get back to my station before the kids get there.”
“Bye Tooru, have fun with the kids.” You waved at him before turning around to get some stuff done.
It had been a while since Tooru had come to ask about Mattsun and he still hadn’t come in. It was weird to not have him come in for a day. He was always in here with a kid who had some sort or bump, cut, or bruise. The mosquito that had been bothering you landed on the desk, thinking you had finally got it and slapped your hand on the desk. The mosquito was able to get away just before you would have crushed it. You sighed, frustrated that it was still bothering you.
“Knock, Knock” Mattsun was standing at the door, without a kid this time. “Sorry for the intrusion”
“Hey, you’re here, thought you weren’t coming in today?” You had stood up from your chair making your way over to him. “Where's the kid? Or is it just you today?”
“Just me. Got hit in the head when a kid threw the frisbee and just wanted to get some ice. Gotta make it quick, the kids are waiting for me. Had to stick them with Iwa for a bit. I didn't trust Makki enough to leave them with him.” Iwaizumi was the Rock climbing counselor and Makki was the arts and crafts counselor. They were some old friends of Mattsuns. He knew Makki would cause more chaos with the kids then he was ready to deal with later.
“Well let me grab you some ice real quick.” You turned to grab some ice and put it in a bag for his head. “Here ya go.” Finally you noticed the mosquito that had landed on Mattsun's cheek. Without thinking you smack him trying to kill it.
“Ow, what the hell.” He brought his hand up to his cheek covering where you had hit him
“I am so sorry! I didn’t even realize” You were in shock you had just slapped him. “I am so sorry, let me get some more ice. I really am sorry” You had started to freak out, your brain finally processing what you had done.
“Hey it's ok. Just a bit shocked and confused why you slapped me.” Mattsun watched you get more ice for his cheek.
“There has been this pesky mosquito that has been following me around all day and it landed on your cheek so without thinking I hit it to kill it.” You had brought the bag of ice to him. “Come here.” Mattsun had walked up to where you were and leaned down to let you help him. As you gave him the bag of ice you kissed his cheek. It was a habit you had picked up from working with kids all summer. You were working on autopilot and hadn’t even realized you did it.
“Thanks.” His cheeks had reddened slightly due to the kiss. His response was quiet and you had just barely heard it. It was weird, he was never this soft spoken around you. You had glanced over to see him just staring at the ground with the ice pack held to his cheek. His face was flushed concerning you more.
“Are you feeling ok? Are you sick?” You had put your hand to his forehead to see if he had a fever. He was warm but it definitely was not a fever. You dropped your hand back to your side as you kept your eyes on him.
“Yeah I'm ok. Just a little caught off guard.” You had given him a confused look. Why would he be caught off guard? Did you do something? You had wracked your brain for anything you could have done. That was when it had finally hit you. You had kissed his injury without even thinking, like he was one of the kids you would treat. It was your turn to blush.
“I am so sorry! I was not thinking when I kissed where I hit you. I do it for all the kids and it just became something I do automatically. I gave it no thought.” It was so embarrassing. He was cute and sweet and there you go making him uncomfortable by kissing his cheek.
“It’s really alright. I think it's cute that you do it. I just wasn’t expecting you to kiss my cheek is all. I mean I come in here everyday with a kid and I have noticed the habit. It’s sweet that you care so much for the kids. Who would I be if I complained that the pretty nurse kissed my cheek.” He was looking right at you now. It made you more nervous. He thought you were pretty?
“Pretty?” It slipped past your lips before you could even think. What was with your brain and body working on autopilot today.
“Well, yeah. Why do you think I stop here everyday? I come to see and talk to the camp's pretty nurse. I could just send the kids in pairs but I always come with them to see you.” You were just staring at him now. It seems Tooru was right after all. He came to see you. Tooru would never let you hear the end of it though if you told him. You couldn’t respond, just stuck in your spot staring at him. “I have been working up the courage to ask you on a date but I always chicken out before I can.”
“I would love to go on a date with you.” It was sincere, you really did want to. You had finally worked up the courage to look him in the eyes after saying them. His eyes lit up hearing your response.
“Great! That’s amazing! When are you free?” He was smiling at you with such enthusiasm, it was contagious. Your own smile mirroring his.
“We could go after we finish up for the day. Normally I just go home and watch something.”
“Amazing! I have to get back to the kids but I will meet you here after camp is finished and then we can go out.” he was backing up and heading out the door to get back to his campers.
“Ok! I will see you then!” You yelled out to him as he ran off towards the camp. You really couldn’t believe that a pesky mosquito would lead to you getting a date.

You watch Mattsuwaka from the balcony. He laughs freely beside his friends on the couch, a small blush on his cheeks as a result of the beer bottle he has in his hand. He looks good like this. God, Mattsun always looks good, but something about his smile makes a blush appear on your cheeks.
“When are you gonna tell him?”
You look to the side to find Iwaizumi walking up to you with two cups in hand.
“Tell him what?” You ask, accepting one of the drinks from him.
“About your feelings. You’ve liked him since first year, it’s about time you do something about it.”
“I’m not in the mood to be rejected, Iwa-chan.” Hajime rolls his eyes at the nickname.
“He wouldn’t and he won’t reject you.”
“How can you be so sure?”
“Because he told us he would make out with you.”
“What?! How? When? Why did he say that? Are you messing with me? He didn’t say that, did he?”
“He did. We were playing marry, kiss, or kill.”
“Still, just because he would make out with me it doesn’t mean he would accept my confession. Maybe he is attracted to me but he might not feel the same.”
“Who might not feel the same?”
You freeze in your place as the low voice of Issei enters your ears.
“Oikawa.” Iwa says. “We were thinking about doing matching tattoos with y’all but we don’t know if he would agree.”
“Matching tattoos? I don’t see why he wouldn’t agree with it.”
“You know what, I’m just gonna ask him right now.” The brunette smiles and excuses himself, leaving you with your crush.
“I never thought of you as the type to get matching tattoos, didn’t you say you wouldn’t do any in fear of regretting or breaking ties?”
“Yeah, but I doubt anything would make me break ties with you idiots.” Besides you rejecting me.
Mattsun turns around and rests his forearms on the ledge, staring forward to the night sky of Miyagi while you watch how the colorful lights from the party globe dance on his tan skin.
“You’re staring.” He states after a while and you switch your gaze to the city too.
“Was not.”
“Yes, you were.”
“Nope.”
“It’s okay. I stare at you sometimes, too.”
You fidget with your fingers, hoping he won’t notice how red your cheeks became even though you’re pretty sure it’s just the alcohol in his system talking. He’s just turned eighteen hours ago, probably he’s a lightweight.
“It’s my birthday, so… can I ask you for a gift?”
“I already bought you a gift, Mattsun, I doubt my savings will allow me to give you another one.” He chuckles at your words.
“You won’t have to pay for anything, chill.”
He shifts a little closer to you, your forearms almost touching.
“Can you give me a kiss?”
You turn to him with wide eyes while his remain as nonchalant as ever.
“A-A kiss?”
“Yeah. You won’t deny a birthday boy’s wish, will you?”
“Why do you want a kiss?”
“I haven’t kissed anyone.”
You furrow your eyebrows in suspicion. Matsukawa Issei? Never kissed anyone? Bullshit.
“Yeah right.” You laugh.
“I’m serious.”
“Why me?”
“Who would be better to take my first kiss than my best friend?” Best friend, ouch. “Pretty please.”
You roll your eyes at his puppy ones and turn fully to him.
“Okay. Let’s get this over with.”
Issei smirks. He places his hands on your waist to pull closer to his body and you have to restrain yourself not let out a shaky breath. One of your hands cups his face right under his ear while the other sits on his bicep.
There’s no point in prolonging this, so you pull him down to meet your lips and kiss him. Issei closes the space between your bodies and deepens the kiss almost instantly. You gasp at the sudden move and he takes the chance to push his tongue between your lips. He completely dominates you and still has the audacity to smile against you.
When you’re out of breath you pull away, narrowing your eyes at him in a way that makes him laugh.
“First kiss my ass.”
“Well, it’s the first one that felt right.”
You turn your gaze to the side, flustered. Matsukawa leans down to your ear, still holding you close to him.
“Just so you know, I do feel the same.”
“You were listening?!” You slap his arm but his smirk doesn’t falter, in fact, it widens.
“I have another wish.” He sings.
“What is it now?”
Issei leans down again, stopping only millimeters away from your lips. You can feel his breath on your lips and hands sliding down to your hips.
“Be mine.”
You smile and crash your lips on his once more.
“Happy birthday, Issei.”
“It’s the best one so far.”

Imagine Matsukawa coming home and he tells you a bullshit story of working at a funeral home. Here’s one I came up:
Warning: mentions and description of barf, mentions of funeral homes, caskets, and dead bodies
Note: I had way too much fun writing this
“You are not going to believe what happened today,” he huffed angrily as he tosses his jacket on a hook near your home’s entrance.
“What?” You ask with a semi-mouthful of food.
He locks his eyes with yours. “Some kid threw up in the casket.” The dark obsidian pools held utter wrathful irritation.
Your eyes immediately widen, narrow, and then dart away to avoid his gaze, fearing you might lose it if you made eye contact. You suck in your lips nervously to contain the laughter surging in your chest, coughing into a fist to dispel it.
“I even had to clean it up,” he says exasperated, hands clenching into fists, veins popping and relaxing at his movements.
“That,” you begin with a deep breath, swallowing the remnants of food down, “sounds awful. To the home and the family too,” you quickly add. If you kept talking, you wouldn’t give away your amusement.
He scoffs, but it sounded like an exhausted annoyance. “Yeah, it was. It was even chunky.” He turns to look at you, but noticed how you were hiding your face behind your hand, the crinkles at your eyes evident of the grin behind your palm.
Your eyes meet and you can’t hold it in any longer. The laugh you felt bubbling in your chest bursts past your lips before you can reign it back in. You clamp a hand over your lips, but it fails to subdue the chortles. You desperately clutch your sides as ceaseless laughter seize your body. Your eyes squeeze shut, forcing a tear down your face.
“I’m sorry,” you managed to gasp out before dissolving into laughter again. “But that’s hilarious. The description and the kid,” you wheeze as you continue to chuckle at the absurdity.
Matsukawa can’t help but guffaw with you. The thought of him spewing vulgar curses while stubbornly cleaning up after a poor kid who couldn’t stand a corpse was absolutely ludicrous. You even felt bad for the kid who had to be on the receiving side of Matsukawa’s infamous withering gaze. He could’ve created an even bigger mess.
He pulls the chair out next to you, eyes glinting with humor and watches as you wipe away the tears of laughter from your blossomed cheeks.
“Do you want me to tell another story at my work?” He asks, suddenly mischievous, a part of him wanting to hear your ringing laugh. The horrifying experience had completely slipped over his head.
You quickly nod, forgetting how badly your sides and jaw hurt.
He smiles as he takes your hand and begins the story.
You both spent the night taking turns and sharing stories and ordeals that happened at work, howls of laughter and countless chuckles fill the air of your home and it now became tradition.
Ever since then, he finds himself filled with giddiness on his route home to tell you what happened today, and eagerly waits to hear yours.
It’s nice to come home like this, he thinks.
