Chapter 3: Speaking with Myths
You sail out to the spot you could last remember meeting them, disheartened when the mermen don't, finding yourself questioning all that has happened in the last week, and your childhood and the myth that saturates. Until one does show up, and brings the other, and suddenly there are two mermen on the deck of your small houseboat; one that is tired as the sunset but entertains your several questions, the other who prefers to scare you at any given opportunity and eat the entire bucket of fish you've brought, and both seemingly insistent that you do not leave, they do not leave you, and that there may be something else in the water. This is what you get for being friends with mythical omens of legend.
