“Defeat”, a digital drawing by Monarobot (aka Mona Robles Corzo) the image shows a codex-like interpretation of a battle scene from “Pacific Rim”, a film by director Guillermo del Toro. In the drawing Knifehead, a kaiju monster is interlocked in battle with Gipsy Danger, a Jaeger Mech, in the middle of an angry, dark ocean— Knifehead has several eyes, shark like jaws, two sets of arms, one large, one small, and a protruding nose, hence its name. Knifehead has cut Gipsy’s left arm off, which is falling, leaving behind a mass of blood-like and tendon-like cables, fluid and flames, in retaliation Gipsy is firing her right hand’s energy cannon straight against Knifehead’s neck- the explosion is so strong it’s blasting straight through, practically decapitating the monster, the blast is exiting through the back of the creature’s neck, along chunks of its meat. Knifehead was designed by artist Wayne Barlowe.
“Redemption”, digital drawing by Monarobot (aka Mona Robles Corzo) the image shows a codex-like interpretation of a battle scene from “Pacific Rim”, a film by director Guillermo del Toro. In the drawing Otachi, a kaiju monster, is being torn apart by Gipsy Danger, a Jaeger Mech. A segmented sword is coming out of Gipsy Danger’s left arm and she’s ripping out Otachi’s flowering tongue with her right, the sword is cutting Otachi’s head clean off— a trail of electric blood and flesh can be followed from Otachi’s neck to her severed body, while the mech is surrounded by fire. Otachi is also missing her tail, having lost it earlier in battle, flesh and bone stick out of the stump, and her severed wing surrounds Gipsy, as they both plunge from the sky. Otachi was designed by artist Guy Davis.

Here is my belated art for Pacific Rim’s 10th anniversary, happy anniversary of cancelling the apocalypse!
