stuck in a loop for thousands of years, not knowing how it would stop. he documents everything, even the smallest details one might find obscure and irrelevant. taking pride and joy in the little things is what has helped him accept his fate.

the one thing he would never get accustomed to— the way he would find his soulmate time and time again, only to have them slip away within a breeze. it was years, a lifetime for his love, but merely a second for him. so he did what he only truly knew what to do.

write.

he wrote and filled journals upon journals, notepads upon notepads, and when you think he’s had enough, he pen is jotting down notes on napkins. the obsession he had with keeping your small habits, the small details of your clothes, or the way you walk— it was depressing, creepy even.

but it didn’t stop him. he wrote and wrote for generations. he met his love and outlived her several times when he finally placed his writing instrument down.

with a heavy heart, he handed the most recent one to them one day. the one filled with sadness and his longing, not to mention the deep emotional feel of his desperate attempts of ending the seemingly endless curse.

he hated it. the fear of seeing you gone was no more, replaced with rage. he grew impatient, wanting to see the world for what it truly is instead of standing by as immortal. saggy skin and illnesses due to age were something he wanted, craved. it was psychologically torturing him never being able to grow old with his love.

of course, to them, he did. but it was illusion, one created to lessen any suspicion. but the second the journal lands into his lover’s hands, it was like a switch flipped for the first time.

the constant cycle ended. the world turned colorful and full of life again. he finally had a chance to truly live.
