More about Rory Ozul-Pyronia!

The team leader of ROMA! Young adult (no official age yet, but I'm thinking early 20s).

Likes: Meat and Beaches, Dislikes: Alarms/Sudden loud noises

Semblance: Telepathic Link - By giving someone whom she's bonded with some of her aura, she opens a link to communicate until her or the other person's aura breaks. Depending on the amount given, she may be able to understand the other person's surroundings. Simply put, two way telepathy.

Brief History: Rory was born in Vale to Crimson Pyronia. Her father Saphir Ozul disappeared shortly before Rory was born. Crimson left Rory with her mother, June, and June's partner Winnie Paile, and died while searching for Saphir. Rory grew up with June and Winnie in the kingdom of Vale, within a coastal city, before joining a huntsman school and eventually getting accepted into Beacon Academy.

Misc fun facts: Does not like tomatoes (funnily enough, since she's on the tomato team), Bi, hasn't traveled much but would like to, technically nocturnal but her sleep rhythm is borked so she's somewhat diurnal.

More about Oh-Taupe Sirus!

The Mom Friend of ROMA! Young adult (early 20's, like Rory).

Likes: Flowers and Gardening, Dislikes: Heavy rain and Snakes

Semblance: Oasis - He is able to control the emotional strength of aura bearing creatures within an area of influence. He primarily uses it to calm crowds. It manifests as a bubble of aura originating from him, similar to May Marigold's bubble of invisibility.

Brief History: Oh-Taupe was born to his mother Aryl Sirus and his father Ube Sirus in Atlas. Very few years after, his twin sisters Amaranth and Koa would be born. His father worked as a businessman in trade with Argus. During one of his business trips, his transport was attacked by Grimm and Ube was killed. A couple years after, Aryl got remarried to Jay Dismuth and had Oh-Taupe's younger half brother, Xana Dismuth-Sirus. Oh-Taupe went to school in Argus before going to Beacon.

Misc fun facts: Tallest OC I've created (even without heels), He/They genderfluid/non-binary, learned makeup skills from his mom, named after his grandfather.

More about Sheldon 'Meral' Murex!

The Chronic Gamer Strategist of ROMA! Young adult (early 20's).

Likes: Tactical Games and Coffee, Dislikes: Cold Weather

Semblance: Stitches - He can use his aura to 'stitch' people, Grimm, and objects together. When this happens threads the colour of his aura appear where he 'stitches' the two items together. Eyeshot/awareness is necessary for activation. Does not permanently damage/influence people, Grimm, or objects.

Brief History: Meral was born to his mother Amaretto and his father Gin, a duo of criminals in the lower levels of Mistral. Meral lived his early years with them before their small home was attacked and he was severely injured. He was rescued and placed into a hospital where he met his adoptive mother, Dr. Coralie Murex. This is also when he gained his first prosthetic limbs. His birth parents weren't seen again, and Coralie offically adopted him after being discharged from the hospital. Meral then met Coralie's partner Opal Murex. He grew up with them, eventually deciding to go to Beacon in Vale to become a Huntsman.

Misc fun facts: He goes by his middle name Meral, when with his birth parents he went by 'Sherry', Demi/Pan, insomniac, his lab coat was one of Coralie's that was tailored for him.

More about Arnulf Brun!

The Loyal Martial arts Muscle of ROMA! Young adult (early 20s).

Likes: Traveling and Exercise, Dislikes: Cucumbers and Spiders

Semblance: Instinct - Basically an overall buff to strength, speed, and endurance. A drawback is that he doesn't comprehend pain, and his aura depletes quickly during activation. When his aura breaks, he feels the full force of the hits he's already taken. It seems to be stronger at night.

Brief History: Arnulf Brun was born to Bianca Brun and Kasmir Brun as their second son on Menagerie. Arnulf's older brother Grizz Brun is about 3 years older than him. Arnulf grew up on Menagerie with his family, eventually joining the White Fang as a child. During this time, he traveled outside of Menagerie with Kasmir and Grizz through Vacuo and Vale. Eventually the more peaceful Ghira Belladonna was replaced by Sienna Khan. When things became more violent in the White Fang, Grizz and Kasmir returned to Menagerie, while Arnulf wanted to be a Huntsman. He eventually entered into Beacon without having to have prior experience in a fighting academy.

Misc fun facts: His emotions show through his tail (like Marrow), Bi, natural flirt (does not realize this), memory issues/forgetful

Rory's family!

She gets her vampire bat Faunus trait from her father, Saphir, who has vampire bat front teeth. She also has his eyes.

Her mother Crimson passed down her vivid red hair from her mother June, as well as their pale complexion.

Saphir and Crimson had Rory young. They both dropped out of Beacon to begin searching for less life-threatening jobs so they could raise Rory together.

Rory's grandmas, June and Winnie raised her when her father disappeared, and her mother died. Winnie is a retired huntress, and June is a hobbyist jeweler. They both live in a coastal city within the kingdom of Vale. Rory lived with them and was inspired to become a huntress from Winnie's stories.

Oh-Taupe's family!

Most of his family is there, except for his biological father, Ube. They get their height from their biological father, as well as their magenta eye colour.

He inherited his mother, Aryl's hair colour, with his younger twin sisters, Amaranth and Koa, and half-brother, Xana, as well as beauty marks around his left eye.

Amaranth and Koa are mirrored twins, and while Koa has her beauty mark under her left eye like her mother, Amaranth is her mirror, having her beauty mark under her right eye. Amaranth is older than Koa by two minutes.

Jay Dismuth is Oh-Taupe's step father, and Xana's biological father. Xana inherited general vitiligo from Jay, and Aryl's eyes.

They live (or lived, depending on the timeline) in Atlas. Aryl is a retired fashion model, while Koa is following in her footsteps as a model as well. Amaranth is a fashion designer, and Jay is a househusband. Xana has private tutors for schooling. (Until Atlas became Atlantis, of which I am undecided on their fates)

Meral's family!

Meral's biological family are criminals from the lower levels of Mistral, only known as "Gin" and "Amaretto." He inherited his mother's hair and skin tone, his father's eye shape, and both of their eye colours as central heterochromia hazel as his own. While with them, he was called "Sherry" although his given name was Sheldon. Gin and Amaretto were dealers in arms and dust ammunition. When they were attacked, some volatile dust exploded and nearly killed a ten-year-old Meral. He hasn't seen them since.

Meral met Dr. Coralie Murex in the hospital where he was being treated at, and eventually became her adopted son. Coralie is a fox Faunus (although you can't see her tail in this picture), and Opal, Coralie's wife, was born blind. Together they raised Meral in Mistral until they moved to the city of Vale to support Meral in his decision to start anew and become a huntsman. Coralie is a surgeon who specializes in orthopedics (bones), and Opal is a children's book author.

Arnulf's family!

Arnulf gets his Faunus traits from both his father, Kasmir, and his mother Bianca (who, unfortunately, is not pictured). Kasmir is a mountain goat Faunus with goat eyes as his trait, while his mother is a reindeer Faunus with antlers as her trait.

Arnulf inherited his mother's freckles and his grandfather's heterochromia (on his mother's side). He has one eye as his father's brown, and one as his mother's blue.

His older brother Grizz is a brown bear Faunus, who now works for the law enforcement of Kuo Kuana. Grizz also inherited Bianca's freckles, but he inherited his father's eye colour in both of his.

Arnulf's entire family was in the White Fang when he was a child. His mother stayed on Menagerie while Kasmir, Grizz, and Arnulf traveled to lend support to other White Fang groups. When the White Fang switched leaders, Kasmir and Grizz returned to Menagerie, while Arnulf stayed with the White Fang for another year or so, until he left with a good buddy of his to become Huntsmen together.

More about Lillian Maria!

The team leader of LCAF! Young adult (early 20s, like ROMA)

Likes: Architecture, Dislikes: Brussel sprouts

Semblance: Static Charge - Turns kinetic energy to lightning/electricity. The more she fights/moves, the larger the blast of electric current. She can only let loose massive charges once or twice before using up her aura, similar to early Yang and her Semblance. After use, her aura drops to extremely low levels. Hard hits or another use of her Semblance would completely break her aura.

Brief History: Lillian Maria was adopted by her fathers Jimson and Rhodey Maria in a small settlement in the kingdom of Vale. She has an older sister, Ivy Maria, who is about five years older than her. She grew up in this settlement, learning to fight and protect her home, after seeing what kind of horrors that could occur outside the borders of the largest cities. She eventually applied for Beacon Academy without prior experience in a fighting academy.

Misc fun facts: Believes in true love, gray/demi, wants to get married one day, a writer (although she hasn't published anything), is called "Lily-Pad" by Frosk :)

More about Clara Ginger!

The solid foundation of team LCAF! Young adult (like ROMA)

Likes: Mixology, Dislikes: Disorganization/Mess

Semblance: In Plain Sight - She has the ability to completely erase her presence from one's perception. She doesn't physically go invisible, but it's much harder to perceive her. This does not work on Grimm or anyone with extrasensory semblances or abilities. (Think Gods/Spirits in Noragami). This is a passive Semblance like Qrow's bad luck (or probability manipulation?), but she has worked to suppress it.

Brief History: Clara Ginger was born in Argus to her mother, Lucida Ginger, and her two fathers, Chrys Tallisan and Rayne Aero. Clara lived in Argus with her family, peacefully, until the day her Semblance was discovered. She got hopelessly lost, and no one could find her, as it was almost impossible to notice her. A Huntsman with an extrasensory semblance found her wandering the city streets, asking people how she could get home. The people she asked were all confused as to where the girl's voice came from, which confused and scared young Clara. The Huntsman recognized that she had a perception manipulation Semblance, and once he brought her to her family, advised them to put her into a Huntsman school so she could begin training her semblance. She began her training, and found that being a Huntress was her calling. She eventually decided to go to Beacon, the same school the Huntsman who found her was from, to become a full fledged Huntress.

Misc fun facts: took her mother's surname, bi, her parents are in a polycule (and thus like to joke about having another pair of eyes to keep watch over her), has a fear of being left behind.

More about Adrienne Leroux!

The observer of team LCAF! Young adult (same as ROMA)

Likes: Nighttime air and Music, Dislikes: Crowds

Semblance: Phantom - The ability to move within and take objects into shadows. (Think, Rogue FT, and Kuroiro from MHA). She can still be harmed from within the shadow, but when in transition she has a few brief seconds of intangibility. When aura breaks, everything within the shadow she is in, is forced out along with her. The larger the object, the more aura it takes, and the less time in can be within the shadow. She has not attempted taking another living person within her shadow, for fear of accidentally killing them.

Brief History: Adrienne Leroux was born to Rosalie and Julien Leroux in a small settlement in the kingdom of Vale. They lived there together until a Grimm horde destroyed the settlement and most of the people. Adrienne only survived because of her semblance, which allowed her to hide amidst the rubble until it was safe enough to leave. Her parents died in the attack, leaving her to wander with the remnants of the settlement. The group found another settlement, which welcomed them with (somewhat) open arms. Adrienne was then put into an 'orphanage' with children who's parents were also dead or missing. She lived within that settlement until she applied for Beacon Academy, without any prior fighting academy experience.

Misc fun facts: Has heard the legend of the Grim Reaper in her orphanage (and based aspects of her weapon off of the stories), lesbian, enjoys singing and listening to music, her nickname is "N" or "Enne."

More about Frosk Alaguna!

The "Party Animal" of team LCAF! Young adult (like everyone else)

Likes: Swimming and Frogs, Dislikes: Assumptions/Assuming things

Semblance: Tides - The ability to manipulate water. The more water he manipulates, the more aura he drains. Cannot manipulate temperature, ice, or vapor. Cannot manipulate more than a 'reasonable' amount of water. Typically uses semblance as a shield, a weapon, or a platform. Seems to get stronger with high tide. Does not generate water and cannot create complex shapes (only cubes, spheres, and cylinders).

Brief History: Frosk Alaguna was born to his mother Aurea and father Rudd Alaguna on Menagerie. Although born female, he knew he was male from an early age. He joined the White Fang with Arnulf and his family, and traveled with them for a time. During his travels, he was able to surgically transition, as Menagerie didn't have the means at the time. Ghira Belladonna eventually stepped down for the more aggressive Sienna Khan, and when things became much more violent in the White Fang, Frosk decided to leave and become a Huntsman with his friend, Arnulf. He entered into Beacon Academy without having prior Huntsman training.

Misc fun facts: Really likes frogs but isn't a frog Faunus (this has caused confusion), in fact a lungfish Faunus with limited ability to breathe underwater, Trans, natural swimmer, dated Arnulf for a few days (realized they were just besties after being each other's first kiss), his nickname is "Fro."

It's 2024 so I decided to redesign team LCAF! (I literally started drawing on the 3rd and full hyperfocused on this so hard my arm hurts now)

Starting out with the team's leader, Lillian "Lily Pad" Maria!

She's got new magnetic thigh holsters for her weapons that double as armor! Her side shave has migrated over to the opposite side! She's got piercings now! And I pushed the heart motif as much as I could, with lil heart earrings, heart button, heart kneepads, and heart(ish) toed boots. Also, I made her white waist cape turn sheer with the yellow as the accent rather it being full opaque yellow with white as the accent.

Next we've got Clara Ginger!

She's got an entirely new outfit, and her bag is nowhere to be found! She's got more red in her design to compliment her partner, and she's got some red tint in her glasses now! Plus she's sporting some lip makeup and now she has some sweet lacy gloves, as well as some nice lacy tights! I also took out the brown in her og design since it made the design too busy.

Next it's the partner in question, Adrienne "Enne" Leroux!

The general vibe of her outfit is the same, just a bit more detailed and with gold accents, but I completely redesigned her symbol (to look more like an eye) and her mask! It's now held onto her head by the same logic that holds Adam Taurus's mask and Ilia Amitola's WF mask to their respective faces... ~anime physics~ She's also got some new opera gloves! (also fun fact, when I originally came up with her concept, I didn't realize the author of the original Phantom of the Opera, Gaston Leroux, had the surname Leroux. It was a fun coincidence that I decided to keep ^.^)

And last but certainly the one I redesigned first, Frosk "Fro" Alaguna!

He got a full rehaul of his outfit design (to reflect his 'party animal' personality a bit better) with an open wetsuit top, some sweet wetsuit bottoms, and some sick goggles. Plus, I wanted to be able to show off his top scars (cause they're cool and I subscribe to the idea of stylized top scars are dope as hell). And I gave him a tattoo. For funsies. He's also got a sling thing that I saw on Menagerie extras and I wanted to make it obvious that he's from there since his gills can be overlooked... plus I've decided that it holds his weapons :D

Wow, ancient relics! Arnulf was the only character I actually drew a lot of (since I think the rwbytuber PhoenixNight had an oc contest or appreciation thing going on and I entered) this was back when I was still figuring out his character, semblance, symbol, etc in 2021. Originally, Arnulf had a semblance that kinda worked like radar, where if one heard his 'howl' he'd know where they were.

I think it's important to show off the first steps of something, since it's the foundation of what you're creating now :)

(and it's kinda fun to go back and poke fun at yourself a little bit for how off your art feels after a few years)

Ooh, maybe for my next art projects I'll redraw child Arnulf (and maybe the rest of the gang!)

Arnulf's family!

His older brother, Grizz (age 8) (Grizzly Bear Faunus), Arnulf (age 6) (Red Wolf Faunus), his father Kasmir (age 30) (Cashmere Goat Faunus), and the companion piece of his mother, Bianca (age 28) (Reindeer Faunus)

Bianca Brun did not grow up in Menagerie, but somewhere else. She and Kasmir decided to move to Menagerie to raise their children, in peace.

I think Grizz was the type of brother that would be extremely rough and tumble, and Arnulf would just coat them both in bandages (at first to actually help Grizz's scratches, but then just for funsies and so they'd match)

I changed Kasmir's Faunus trait to be goat horns rather than goat eyes (and he's got a bit of 5 o'clock shadow, rather than the full beard he'll eventually grow out)

They're the type of parents that are extremely active. Always doing something with the family, and those in the community, whether it be going on family walks, helping a neighbor build an add on to their house, or volunteering somewhere in the community.

They're somewhere along the Menagerie coastline :)

Rory's Family!

1st pic: Crimson Pyronia (age 17) and Saphir Ozul (age 17) after they met at Beacon Academy! They'd have Rory about a year(ish) later!

2nd pic: Winnie Paile (age 45), June Pyronia (age 44), and little Rory (age 2) This is after she's put into the care of her grandmothers! (after Saphir went missing and Crimson died searching for him)

Rory absolutely takes after her parents (in regards to fashion at the very least). June passed down the strong red hair gene to Crimson, and Crimson passed it down to Rory, but Saphir's fluffy hair won out over the straight hair. And his golden/yellow eyes.

Saphir has vampire bat teeth! Which has given Rory the vampire bat Faunus gene (I fully don't know if the Faunus traits directly copy from Faunus parent to child when there's a human parent, but it didn't for them because it's more fun that way and they're my blorbos)

(Also fun fact, Rory used to have vampire bat teeth as her Faunus trait, but when I changed it and I was thinking of her parents and stuff, I figured she could at least be canonically descended from some vampire bat teeth xD)

I changed up Crimson's design, giving her a more punk/goth aesthetic and changing her eyes from pink to this bright teal/blue (which kinda reminds me of Dabi now that I think about it). And Saphir now has MORE piercings! And a bit of a recolor with his gloves and scarf (which now fades into a purple)

Winnie and June are the kind of Grandparents/Parents that try to make everything as fantastical as possible for as long as they can. Winnie tells exaggerated stories (as a retired huntress), and June tries to make the world fun and kind (when the reality is that Remnant... is not)

And I think that, if given the chance, Crimson and Saphir would've done fairly well for themselves in raising Rory with their help. They would've had no clue what they were doing for a generous few years, but they'd be more grounded and down to earth in their parenting style.

Obi-Taupe's Family!

Obi gets their bright magenta eyes from their dad! And their beauty marks from their mom :) Obi is definitely the type of sibling that dotes on their younger siblings. Always down for dress up, race cars, tea parties, and mud pies!

Ube passed when Obi-Taupe was 7 years old when he was travelling for his business. Aryl and Jay met afterward and had a very slow romance for years before having Xana (unplanned, but not unwanted).

Eyy, I finally drew Ube! I knew I wanted him to be 'just a dude' so I tried my best :) Koa and Amaranth are mirrored twins (with Amaranth being Koa's mirror. Koa, Obi, and Xana all have their mom's beauty mark on the same side as her, while Amaranth has it on the opposite side).

Ube was a fun-loving, but perpetually tired dad before he passed, and Aryl was a tad stricter (as she grew up in a high stress environment) and very matter-of-fact. After Ube passed, Aryl threw herself into her job as a fashion designer and became somewhat distant until Jay made himself a constant in the Sirus family's life.

Jay is the type of parent that wants to be his kids' friend, and will talk with them about anything and not sugar coat it. With Jay, Aryl became a parent that still lays things out matter-of-factly, but is a bit more open in what she's thinking and feeling. She is also, perpetually tired (but fulfilled).

For the time in between Ube's death and the healing of Aryl's heart, Obi-Taupe took it upon themself to care for their younger sisters, which is when they found they liked caring for others. When Jay became a constant, Obi and Jay bonded over caring for Koa and Amaranth :)

(If Ube survived, the dynamics of the Sirus family still would've been quite similar. Jay would've been a cool family friend. Aryl and Ube would've been job focused until a point where Obi would've pointed out that they take care of their sisters better than their parents do, and then Ube and Aryl would go to therapy and learn to be more present. But I'm not sure if Obi-Taupe would've wanted to be a Huntsman if Ube didn't die... o.0)

Roki

Roki's a character I've been wanting to play in DnD for a long time now. I just think she's neat :) and I wanted to redraw her for a while. She's a draconic bloodline sorcerer and if you're curious of her evolution (and my own artistic journey through her) all of my art pieces of her are under the cut! (I think the oldest pieces of her are from 2020 or earlier? But I'm not certain)

Roki

More about her under the cut!

A lonely innkeeper with a soul claimed by the hells and a heart of molten gold.

The early years of Roki's life were nameless, as she was an orphan. She was adopted/bought by a wizard who took an interest in her infernal heritage, wanting to study the souls of those who were claimed. This wizard's name was Ro'Undur. He named her "Ki."

Once her innate magic became known to Undur, he decided to use her as a student, rather than a subject. He then bestowed upon her his name, "Ro," to change her name to "Roki." He found something interesting about Roki's magic and decided to investigate her blood as well as her soul, finding draconic ancestry somewhere in her line. She was a walking contradiction, a soul to be claimed by the hells, yet blood with the innate goodness of a golden dragon. Something about this discovery made him disappear, including his tower and all within, without a warning nor a word to his ward.

Roki was alone. She wanted to find where her teacher had gone, so she found herself on a ship where she worked for a time before finding land once again. She then found herself working at the Loyal Hart Inn, where she currently resides, waiting for the call to adventure.

Glory

A street rat acrobat with a certain ⭐joie de vivre⭐

Glory lived as a street rat in his childhood. His mother passed away when he was young, and he never knew his father, as his mother's profession left much to the unknown in that regard. He grew up in the brothel she worked at, her coworkers as his mothers and fathers in her stead. They bestowed upon him his virtue name, "Glory" for the flowers that grew around the brothel.

When he wasn't helping around the brothel (cleaning, mending, and cooking), he was sent out and away to wander the streets of his hometown. It was on those streets he learned the arts of pickpocketing, busking, and performance. It was also on those streets where he saw a circus come through; and found a passion for aerial dance.

He left with that circus to learn what he could; and when he returned, he brought with him knowledge that brought booming business to the home he grew up in. Although, he feels a twinge of wanderlust when he's not in the spotlight.
