Mushroom Help - Tumblr Posts

So this is my first time ever trying to grow mushrooms (Brown Oyster) and I followed the instructions except I fully opened the substrate which I've regretted since then

It's only been a few days but I fear I may have killed them already since the mycelium began to puff up like this today and was browning the past days

Anyone know what's going on with it?
